The beautiful house and accommodations were fantastic. We would go back and rent the same house in a second. We enjoyed being there so much that we didn't even need to go many places while there. Marta and Donald made our "home away from home" so comfortable. Estelle and Jason made our week very entertaining. No one would do their vacation wrong by renting this location. Be prepared to have some fun and relax!!! The Jetts

I stayed at this property from July 23 to the 30th 2011. The property is in very good shape, the patio with the pool and hot tub and dining area with grilling options was a bonus. The views were unbelievable and you just couldn't take your eyes away. I went to the property with 5 young adults from 20-23 and they had an excellent time. We were able to work with Jonas of Adventure Tours to drive us to the area beaches and attractions so that all had a great time. I would highly recomend Jonas and his company, very professional and helpful and helped to make this a vacation of a lifetime. The housekeeper was Marta and she was excellent in taking care of us. She did do the laundry and cooked us a few light meals that were very good. We were very happy with our stay and very appreciateve of Marta. We all hugged and kissed her goodby and promised to come back again. We felt like a family by the end of the week. The house is a walk from the beach and is not that far distance wise, but it is a challenge since it is a hill, I would recomend that if you have a hard time with walking quite steep hills a car would be a plus. We were all up to the walk and did go into town at times 2-3 times a day, we looked at it as exercise for the day. The beach and the town were worth the walk. I would highly recomend this location for a vacation, it will be one that you won't forget to soon. Don't take your watch or cell phone and you will be in business to relax and enjoy the beauty and the comfort that you will get from this home.

Casa Miramar

Guest: Debi (Washington, DC)
Date of Stay: 04/24/11 Review Submitted: 08/10/11

We were a group of 8 adults (40-49) who stayed at Casa Miramar for a week in April. The view from the deck is exactly as pictured, and is the best feature of the property. The house itself needs updating and some general maintenance. The kitchen needs a thorough cleaning. There is no exercise room as advertised. Downstairs bedrooms are dark and dismal. One has no electric outlets, another no windows. The housekeeper Marta was friendly, but only speaks spanish, so communication was an issue for most of us. There is a very small beach (not the one pictured) a short walk from the house, but I would recomend a car to go into town or the main beaches since it is a haul up the hill from town back to the house. Adventure tours in town is great. Very friendly and informative. They arranged a trip to Monteverde and ATV rides around the area for us. Both of which I would highly recommend.

A Week at Casa Miramar

Guest: Chicago Bears (Chicago)
Date of Stay: 01/29/11 Review Submitted: 02/09/11

We just returned from our stay at Casa Miramar. We enjoyed the warm sunshine and beautiful views from the home. We did experience some disappointment with the accomodations and perhaps our perspective was somewhat skewed as our stay in a VRBO home last year in St. John, USVI was exceptional. Casa Miramar was average as far as rental homes go. There was no exercise room as advertised. The home is lacking general maintenance, especially in the kitchen. The only can opener is a rusty electric model that is non-functioning. We had to go searching for a blender that we utlimately found in the maid's kitchen on the lower level. The cabinets hace seen better days and could use a good scrubbing. Although Marta, the cook was very nice and accomodating - communication was difficult as only 1 of us spoke Spanish. There were no keys to the home and there was no one there upon our arrival to give us the lay of the land...even a written description of the property with nearby restaurants, grocery stores and how to use the phones would have been helpful. If it had not been for our guide Jonas who was wonderful, we would have really been stuck! He made arrangements for a fantastic sail on the Manta Ray and a day at Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo, as well as an adventure tour. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation, we would not return to Casa Mirarmar.

Owner response:Hello Mr. Good, I hope this finds you well; i am glad to hear you enjoyed your time in my country, I am very proud of the place I get to live. I also want to thank you for your review and for pointing out some of our deficiencies, our goal is to always improve to better, as well as improve our personal services and we hope you find that reasonable and contact as in the future. I apologies the house did not fill your expectations. We will be working on improving that as well. Best Regards, Estela Reyes

I travelled to Costa Rica in January and stayed at Casa Miramar. The house was perfect!! Weather was equally perfect!! Had the most amazing week of ziplining, sailing, sunrises and sunsets! Marta was such a wonderful house host and took such good care of my group! I will hopefully be back very soon!

The house and grounds were strictly beautiful. I wish I could have taken that view from the back deck home with me. The view was so wide and absolutely stunning. I found myself very comfortable there and would love to go back some day. We were there in the supposedly rainy season and we still had great weather.

Great Vacation in Costa Rica!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and it was wonderful! The house is great with a magnificent view! Everyone enjoyed the beautiful, spacious house with comfortable beds, the pool and hottub but especially the back porch with the view. Even with the brief showers, our group sat on the back porch and visited. Our cook made wonderful food everyday and we enjoyed local restaurants. The whole red snapper is fabulous. The Casa is fun and very relaxing.

My stay at this property was great. It is nice to have a short walk to being like your own private beach. The weather was excellent and the food good. The people you meet were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this property.

Thanks to our wonderful experience at Casa Miramar, our first trip Costa Rica was so awesome that we can't wait to come back. The accommodations at Casa Miramar are very comfortable, and the pool and hot tub complete the package. What an amazing view from the covered patio and pool area! The staff at the villa could not have been any nicer, and they were so willing to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The villa is conveniently located and we had easy access to restaurants, sightseeing, golf, fishing, and adventure tours. We can highly recommend Casa Miramar for your next couples or family getaway!

Beatiful House With Amazing Ocean View And Terrific Location

Guest: Travelhound (Little Rock, Arkansas)
Date of Stay: 02/24/10 Review Submitted: 11/08/10

Miramar is a perfect vacation spot for travelers looking for comfortable and spacious luxury accommodations with a beautiful ocean view in a tropical climate with a laid-back vibe and plenty to do. The house itself, and the rooms in it, are very large and well-maintained. The balcony--complete with pool, hot tub, and an outdoor kitchen and dining area--offers an unbeatable view of the ocean. The staff at the house are very helpful and accommodating; unless you need them, you hardly realize they're even there. Flamingo (the town just down the hill from the house) provides a range of very, very good restaurants--from fine dining to fish burgers, all the supplies anyone could need, and a beautiful beach. Other terrific dining options exist in nearby towns, and beautiful beaches are abundant in the area. Surfing and sport fishing are very popular. There are great golf courses very nearby. Live music can be found at night. The local people, the transplants, and the other vacationers are extremely friendly, and I have met very interesting people in Flamingo. Miramar is a great choice for families and groups of friends, and the surrounding area offers plenty to do (if you don't want just to relax) for just about anyone. I would return over and over to this beautiful house in this special part of the world.

You won't be disappointed!

Casa Miramar in Costa Rica is hard to beat! It was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever had. In fact we loved it so much, we’ve stayed there twice. The accommodations are beautiful and the view is absolutely breathtaking! Miramar is large enough for several families. It includes three beautifully furnished rooms upstairs, each with a private bathroom and has 3 great bedrooms/bathrooms downstairs as well. Casa Miramar begs you to stay and hang out by the pool with its comfortable furniture and spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. However there are great restaurants, several in walking distance from the Casa and lots of other adventurous things to do nearby including a monkey park, scuba diving, golfing, surfing, etc. We enjoyed the seemingly private and gorgeous beach as well and it only took about 3 minutes to walk there. Come visit Casa Miramar for yourself…you won’t be disappointed!

Week at Casa Miramar

Guest: Captain Rick (Florida)

Our week staying at Casa Miramar was the most relaxing vacation ever. The home has every amenity you could want including a swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room and a panaramic view of the Pacific coast that reminds me of a tropical Big Sur. There are many quality restaurants nearby and even a Casino. The beach is family friendly with soft sand and gentle surf. We are counting the days until we can spend our next vacation staying at Casa Miramar and exploring more of Costa Rica.

This was my first visit to Costa Rica, but hopefully not my last!! I found it to be a beautiful place - ecologically minded, uncommercialized, very relaxed and teenager-friendly. Casa Miramar was a stunning place to stay that was equpped with every convenience imaginable, including an incredible view of the ocean below. We cooked breakfast in the morning, drove around sightseeing through different towns and beaches during the day, and stopped for dinner on our way home at night. You can even arrange for a chef to come to the villa and cook for you if you'd rather eat at home. Take a zip-line tour, try surfing, and watch for monkeys in the trees as you are driving. Don't forget to stop in and say hi to Lola the pig at Playa Avellanas! It was our favorite daytime destination.
