    • We spent a fabulous week here and all the comments are true! The town is fabulous - lots of shops and great hiking outside your doorstep. Everything is right out of a magazine. The weather in October was great and there were no crowds. Lourmarin is a great place to base out of or you could spend all your time here. It was a picture perfect location and a dream house. If you ever get the chance to stay here do!!! Patricia and Lelsie make it all that much more special. Enjoy!

    • My husband and I stayed here in the middle of September. We read all the comments before we decided that this is where we thought we would like to stay. Now it's our turn to describe our experience for the week we spent there. I am at a loss for words. Whatever you read in all the wonderful comments is really understated. It cannot be exaggerated. It was everything and more that everyone in the comments said. The only bad news was that nothing could compare to it for the rest of our three week trip. Thank you so much Patricia and Leslie.

    • The village house, the village of Lourmarin : both epitomies of enchantment! For ten days at the end of August, 2009, we were cast under a Provencal spell as we lived ‘la bonne vie’ at the gateway to the Luberon! We immediately transcended the typical tourist excitement as we approached Lourmarin and viewed the adjacent hill country of the Luberon. Our initial meeting with Patricia and Leslie heightened the experience starting with an introduction to the ‘fabulous’ village house followed by an escorted tour of the village…we were launched immediately into the village life: wonderful treats, including jams, fresh local fruit and a select local wine, all provided by Patricia on arrival. We reveled in a leisurely local drink and conversation with the Scotts in a village café. Their knowledge, guidance and advice regarding the region set the stage for what was to be an amazing adventure. This house and this village are, indeed, every bit the best of the glowing testimonials by previous guests. The village house is splendid from every aspect, and the village of Lourmarin is virtually without equal for location, comfort, and convenience. The house is literally steps from numerous restaurants and shops…comforting, indeed. After traveling to nearby beautiful hill-towns, famed Aix-en-Provence or perhaps the natural wonders of Cassis by the sea… it is nice to come ‘home’ to relax and to have a choice of fine dining by cooking and enjoying your own terrace or perhaps sauntering merely footsteps away for the many gastronomic delights. In hindsight, after visiting the many beautiful hill towns, our family agrees we would never trade the innumerable amenities of the Scott’s village house and it’s location. Nonetheless, we submit there are issues to consider for future visitors. The bad is quite simple in that you must ultimately pack and prepare for your departure. The good is all-pervasive in the house and the omnipresent charm of the locale…you don’t visit here…‘you live Provence ’ here. One would be remiss not to mention that Patricia and Leslie exude such warmth and charm as hosts that it will be impossible to leave without considering them as newly found friends. Our final advice to new visitors…savor all the adventures of your stay, and be not sad in your departure because it is likely you will be too busy planning your return for a repeat performance!

    • We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Patricia and Leslie who made our vacation in Provence the dream of a lifetime. They provided us with the most enchanting, magical village house in which we could believe we actually lived there...It was thoroughly wonderful with amazing antique furnishings, comfortable beds, fine linens, everything you need and want and even more in a vacation home all artfully designed by Patricia. It was much larger and grander than we expected with an abundance of natural light and warmth throughout the day and into the evening. We arrived as two exhausted friends in search of a peaceful and welcoming vacation and met up with Patricia and Leslie who, after showing us thru the house, took us on a walk thru the village showing us all their favorite places. These are the two most absolutely generous souls who give so much of themselves in making their home a gift to others. This home is perfectly centered to wonderful morning and evening walks, Friday market, the pond at Cucuron(do not miss) and the town of Joucas(a gem). This extraordinary vacation home in Lourmarin should not be missed! We loved every minute!

    • Dear Patricia and Leslie, Since we have never rented vacation homes before, you have set a new and very high standards. Regret to say, but we subsequently rented another property through Verbo, and it was rather disappointing when compared to your beautifull home. Your house is specious and beautifully decorated with antiques, and yet, all modern conveniences were there, and most importantly, fully functional. The linens and towels were first class; and delicately scented with lavender. The beds were very comfortable and we slept as if at home. Patricia, you were a wonderful host and your presents of cheese and local wine were greatly appreciated. Your knowledge of local restaurants was invaluable and certainly enhanced our experiences of Luberon. We will come back to Lourmarine, for sure. Leslie, you were helpful and all of us enjoyed talking with you about the local markets and wineries. Although am running a risk of sounding bizarre, I have but one very minor suggestion ... please, provide the high speed internet. I think our friends back home would have enjoyed Skype assisted virtual tour of your home. PS Patricia, all the best and luck in renovating the place for your cousin. I am sure it will be just as beautifull as the one we stayed at. Best Regards, Bob Polak Toronto Canada

    • Words cannot adequately describe this jewel. It truly was like stepping back in time. Patricia has furnished and appointed this 17th century villa with Provencal antiques and special touches that you will not find anywhere else. The bed linens are real linen and the home has the scent of lavender everywhere. The rooms are spacious and the terrace is fabulous - a perfect place to sip your morning coffee or eat a delicious melon with some Rose wine and cheese at the end of a busy day. Loumarin is a wonderful location to enjoy Provence. It is centrally located and we enjoyed many trips to the nearby villages. Patricia is the perfect host - brimming with life, excitement and generosity. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It made our first (not our last) trip to Provence the perfect holiday.

    • Have you ever dreamt of living in a quaint little village? One with winding cobblestone streets, giving way to country lanes flanked by olive and cherry trees? Fields of bright red poppies all beautifully set at the foot of a mountain range complete with marked hiking trails? Welcome to Lourmarin. Having just returned from renting the Scott's village house for ten nights I just want you to know that all of these testimonials are true. I must say that the photos displayed do not do this place justice. It is a spacious home beautifully decorated with period antiques but not lacking any modern conviences. Crystal chandliers in so many of the rooms were a surprise, especially the large one over the rustic kitchen table where antique comfortable chairs invited long conversations. The center of the village really is only a few steps from the door.. where you will find good restaurants, art galleries, small boutiques and a little tea shop that for the price of a cup of tea...will let you use their wi-fi. If you are looking for the perfect Provencal Village, an exquisitely decorated village house where the landlord has an eye for detail...(did I mention the highend linens?) This is the place for you!! Wonderful time. Jane Swanson, Houston, Texas

    • We and two other family members stayed in this lovely village house the last week of September 2008. The house is charming, well decorated and filled with lovely antiques. Patricia is a very thoughtful hostess. She is well informed about the area and gives wonderful directions if you should need them. She and Leslie provide free garage parking if you wish to use it. This really is a fairytale house. It is easy to imagine yourself there centuries ago. Do not miss staying at this unique and totally charming house. It is all there behing the cheerful red door. I feel certain that we will visit again.

    • If you are one with a penchant for French history, for things old and new, for lush linens and exquisite furniture, for magnificent crystal chandeliers and charming claw-footed tubs, for fine books and beautiful music, then this house is for you. The magic of the Provence region was matched only by Patricia, whose attention to details in the house and concern for her guests' comfort made one feel special and pampered in every way. My husband and I took a step back in time for two perfect weeks in this splendid house and hope to return again in the near future. Merci, Patricia, pour tout! Fran and Stan Wilson
