This sun-filled, open-plan, freshly decorated 50's cottage is a three-block walk to pristine, white-sand Miller Beach. The three-bedroom house (two twins, one full, one queen) and recreation room is an ideal getaway for an extended family. There is a large yard and swing set for the kids, and a delightful coffeehouse (Marquette Perk) within walking distance for the adults.

Besides the beautiful beach, the area is surrounded by the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, where bird-watching, walking and biking trails abound. The house is also walking distance to scenic Marquette Park--which encompasses a beach, a playground, the Aquatorium (elaborate bathhouse built in 1921), a lagoon with two Japanese bridges, a stately pavilion and a picnic area.

Accessible by the South Shore train, downtown Miller boasts two great restaurants: Miller Bakery (as seen on check please) and The Baker's house (homemade scones, soups, sandwiches).Blue Water Grill is a fabulous fish restaurant in nearby Ogden Dunes, and its a short ride to Marilyn's Bakery for the world's best chicken salad and scones, homemade pies and fair trade coffee to be enjoyed leisurely at their outdoor bistro tables.

We enjoyed the community and the beautiful dunes and beach so close by - hearing the waves through open windows at night was delightful. We had a great time (our dog had the best time of all :), and look forward to our next visit.

  • Our extended family of 10 had plenty of room to spread out and really enjoyed staying in your home for a long weekend. In addition to food, I would suggest bringing along extra toilet paper, as it is not provided. Great beach access!

  • 6 of us stayed here very comfortably. two double bed and two twins with extra room downstairs in the den. the house was light, clean and comfortable. the only thing we needed to bring was food and we were about two minutes from the beach. highly recommended.
