About the owner: I grew up in Laguna. My family has been in Laguna for over a hundred years. This was my mother's beloved home, designed and built by my architect brother in 1974. We live in Oregon most of the year where my husband has a practice.
Why the Owner Chose Laguna Beach: When we inherited this property it seemed wise to sell but first we needed to remove the thirty year old green shag carpet, the green pebbled vinyl flooring, the flocked wallpaper and 25 shell collages adorning the walls. Once this was done an incredibly beautiful house emerged. Our next goal was to regain the view. We negotiated with our neighbor to trim his trees and removed the inner courtyard jungle, planting grass with flower boarders to create a quiet garden for our guests. And we fell in love with the house and couldn't part with it even though we're not able to visit very often.
