Stayed in Black Point for a month and this cottage was fully stocked with everything I needed. The area was quiet and safe. I enjoyed walking around the area and taking in the views. Niantic offered great food and Rocky Neck State Park was just a short drive away.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at this cottage. When we arrived, the neighbor greeted us and even went with me to town to get supplies. It had everything we needed and more for a family of 6 to spread out. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked. The two full bathrooms were a blessing when we came back from the beach and everyone wanted a shower. There are even bikes available that allowed us to explore the area. The Black Point Beach is a short walk away and the owner provides parking passes if you want to take the car. Another pass is provided for a beach in town. All in all a wonderful beach cottage that I would recommend to anyone.

We had a great two weeks at Michele's cottage! The house was very comfortable and the yard was perfect for enjoying with friends and family. I hope we can return again in the future--it's a perfect Black Point getaway.

My husband and I satyed in this cottage for 4 1/2 months with our two young children this past winter. Everything we needed was there and available to us. I even cooked Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and didn't have any trouble! We wish we could have stayed longer in order to enjoy the outdoor amenities! The homeowners are wonderful and have paid attention to all the "details". The house looks as good in person as it does online. Thanks for a great time M & G!

We had a wonderful week at this comfortable, well-appointed home. Our first vacation on the Connecticut shore couldn't have been more relaxing or convenient primarily because of the lovely accommodations. We look forward to our stay next year. Thanks so much! Jon and Kate

Perfect cottage !! CTBecky Avon Review Submitted: August 22, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009 We had a wonderful 2 week stay at this well-equipped,updated, and well- maintained cottage. Two full bathrooms made it easy for the family and the full back porch, which opened to a large back yard, was perfect for the dog. The large front screened porch was a great place for morning coffee and reading the paper. (The local paper can be picked up for 75cents at the paper box one short street away--go early!) The owner provides beach towels, too. A short walk to the beach or if you have lots of paraphanalia for the day, there is a parking lot. A perfect walking/biking neighborhood--bikes in the shed! Our family highly recommends this cottage and we wouldn't hesitate to rent again

Wonderful wedding planning/vacation at Black Point mother of the beach bride Simsbury CT Review Submitted: July 10, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009 Our family enjoyed a busy week at this lovely Black Point cottage leading up to the wedding of our daughter in Old Lyme. Our wonderful photographer captured Megan on the comfortable front porch as she put on the finishing touches before heading off to church with her Dad. The second week was spent relaxing and reliving all the wedding day events at several impromtu cookouts in the great back and side yards. The kitchen provided all the essentials for cooking and entertaining and everything was wonderfully neat and clean. Our dog, Riley enjoyed his walks through the neighborhood and just "hanging out" in the yard. Although this summer has been short on sunshine we did enjoy a couple of sunny days at the beach just a short stroll from the cottage. The beaches in Niantic and boardwalk are only a few minutes away as well as shopping and movie theaters. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a well tended and comfortable beach house for a relaxing vacation

Our family stayed at the cottage for 3 1/2 months while my husband attended Sub School in Groton and we loved it! We have 3 small children and it was important to us to find a great location that would still feel like a home. This cottage felt like home as soon as we arrived. Charming is the perfect word to describe it! Niantic is lovely and the people there made the winter months seem warm to us! The kids loved sledding down the big hills at the park and roasting marshmellows in the cozy fireplace. When the weather warmed up, we enjoyed croquet games in the big back yard and exploring the rocky shores of the sound (nothing like the beaches at home in FL!) We hope to return sometime so we can experience a summer in the Niantic cottage too!

We spent a happy working vacation loafing on the front porch and the sofa, cooking in the well-equipped and very up-to-date kitchen, and using the excellent wireless Internet connection for the work we regrettably had to bring with us. The decor was light, clean, and uncluttered, and all the furniture was comfortable. We liked the quiet of the neighborhood, and spent our leisure time at Rocky Neck beach, the Niantic boardwalk, the Oswegatchie Nature Preserve hiking trails, several downtown restaurants, and Scotti's vegetable stand--and of course made frequent trips to visit Frank the Sumo Tabby at the Downtown Book Barn. Niantic is our ideal vacation spot, and this rental was our best so far.

Our month's stay was most enjoyable. Just a short walk to East Shore drive gets you to a kid-friendly beach and a short walk back to the cottage ensures a quiet and peaceful night. Great layout, clean and well stocked!

Guestbook Comment HAC138524 Virginia Review Submitted: May 6, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008 My husband, kids and I stayed at the Niantic Cottage for almost a month while my husband was called to CT for business. It was such a pleasure to rent a house, especially with small children. The yard was perfect for outdoor playtimes. The kitchen was perfect and completely equipped with everything we needed to have an "at home" meal. The location was ideal for business or pleasure. The cottage is tucked away in a quiet beach neighborhood with easy access to everything. My kids and I enjoyed walks to the beach, playing at the local playgrounds and parks, mornings spent at the local Children's Museum, afternoons touring Mystic Aquarium, the local libraries, the Book Barn bookstores, the ocean front boardwalk, the malls and outlets, several local restaraunts, and even the casino which has a nice game room for kids. There is no way we could have enjoyed our visit to CT quite as much out of a hotel room. We have already recommended this rental to several friends and hope to visit again next year!

Dear Michele Our two weeks stay at the cottage was a pleasure. The house is well equipped and charmingly decorated and its location is absolutely quiet, just what we were looking for. When we arrived your mother brought us a fresh seafood salad, that was so nice of her and after the long journey a great treat. There were so many things to do and see and we had a lot of fun. We can recommend the ride with the Essex steam train and river boat, a trip to Boston (it is best to park the car at Quincy Adams MT station, which is just off the highway), the beach at Rocky Neck State Park (only 10 min. by car)is lovely as well as that of Old Blackpoint. Mystic is surely worth the short trip and Mohegan Sun Casino has live music for free four times a week. Niantic!s Colonial Market has everything you need, the fish is fresh and delicious. The Stop and Shop store is huge and offers just everything. There are several small theaters (e.g. the Goodspeed Opera House, which plays mostly musicals is not far from Essex)and we enjoyed a show at the Westport Country Playhouse, which is about 1 hour to drive (I-95 South). The adjacent restaurant (Dressing Room) was amazing, all organic food traditionally prepared by a top chef. With all of our activities we found enough time to relax on your lovely porch or in the garden. We really appreciated the bicycles in the shed and all the other things we found there for the beach. As you told me, we just needed our clothes to bring along, everything else is there at the cottage. And, of course, not to forget the internet access, which was of great importance for us. So everything was fine and we can highly recommend Blackpoint cottage to all people who want to get a good rest as well as enjoy the beach and water activities, hiking, culture, entertainment and undisturbed sleep. Thank you for all your support and advice that you gave prior to our stay. We might just come back. Margret and Walter Ecker

This was a wonderful summer rental. The house layout is open and spacious and so is the yard. I can't remember when we had a rented a cottage with everything you can need in the kitchen. It was home away from home. Clean wonderful! The area and beaches were fun for both toddler and teenager and we grown ups enjoyed ourselves also. Great place - we definately will return. :)

The cottage was a joy to stay in. The updates that have been done made being in the house a pleasure; the kitchen is new, clean, and stylish, and very well equipped. The porches are so wonderful both during the heat of the day and at night. The neighborhood is perfect for children of all different ages. This house has such a huge, flat yard, kids can play all sorts of games right outside the kitchen window. Older children can walk or bike around the neighborhood and down to the beach at the end of the road. The town of Niantic is very nearby and has all you need, or you can venture less than a half-hour and be in so many other great destinations. I can't imagine a better place to spend time with your family or even as a couple, as the house itself is so lovely.

Gordon and Michelle, Such a relaxing and comfortable beach house! It has everything we needed to escape and take a break from the daily stresses of work, no shuttling kids around all day, don't have to deal with any house project to-do lists...etc. We're able to actually get some long overdue reading in on a very comfortable, quiet, front screened-in porch...what a concept! Large enough lot for a good bocci match and BBQ as well. Great neighborhood. We daily take beautiful walks on either side of the Black Point penninsula. You forgot to add that you can take a really great walk on the new Niantic Boardwalk via a 5 minute drive into town. If you want to get away, this is the place to do it! Thanks much, Ken and Jill
