Relax on the deck of this romantically remodeled 1930's cabin located directly on the banks of the St. Vrain River.
Tucked away and secluded from the only neighbor by a large lilac hedge, Hummingbird Cottage is situated on a level acre of land completely flanked on one side by the rushing St Vrain River. Read a book in the large bay windowseat while listening to the birds outside the window.
Try your hand at fishing from the deck in one of the rockers or the private bridge.
Enjoy a nap on one of the adirondeck chairs on the deck. Croquet and badminton sets are also available for your use and are located in the shed.
Pristine hardwood floors, a pedastal sink, vaulted ceilings with skylights, vintage furniture, crystal chandeliers, and goose down comforters, all await you in this magically, romantic getaway professionally decorated and appointed for the most discriminating guests.
Hummingbird Cottage has everything and anything needed for a short or long stay including a barbecue grill, TV with DVD, radio and CD player, refrigerator and freezer, gas range/oven and all linens and cookware. Also included are a small open library (take a book, leave a book policy) and brochures on things to do in the area and reccomendations for nearby restaurants.
To insure your stay is as comfortable as possible, we provide paper products, coffee, toiletries and a hair dryer.
Located approximately seven miles from Estes Park or about 12 minutes away, where you'll find hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, site seeing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, listening to the elk bugle, horseback riding, hiking, climbing, as well as shopping, dining,and riding the gondola to the top of the mountain to hand-feed the chipmunks.
Take a short drive (15 minutes) to the historic town of Lyons, where four live music festivals are held during the summer, and where there are more hiking trails than any other town in Colorado.
This is a privately owned and managed cottage. The owner is nearby to answer any questions and to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I'm a local business owner who has lived in Colorado for the past 18 years.
I enjoyed restoring Hummingbird Cottage to it's original 1930's splendor over an 8 month period. I live in the area and am always available if anything is needed during your stay.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park
The riverfront location of this cottage was what I noticed first and still appreciate most about Hummingbird Cottage. The peaceful sounds of the river can be heard from every area of the home. In the warm summer evenings, we enjy opening all the french doors on the deck and letting the cool breezes from the river waft through the home. The location is close enough to the main road to allow for easy access to other areas, yet completely private from neighbors providing a peaceful and relaxing respite from everyday life.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
In the summer months the area is visited by a number of different varieties of hummingbirds and other wildlife. Bear,fox and deer are also in plentiful numbers any time of the year. A cozy wood burning fireplace and central heat insure comfort all year long. Skylights open up for added breezes during the summer months but tempratures rarely reach over a comfortable 82 degrees.

What a lovely relaxing place! Weloved watching the hummingbirds around the feeders. The morning sunshine brightens the whole kitchen. The view of the river and mountains is so peaceful, and we loved sitting on the porch to read. Thank you for a great vaction away from the heat of Dallas.
