  Thad Wolfe is a star! I needed a comfortable place to stay in LA for a fortnight, which was unfortunately on particularly short notice. As expected, I went through the usual hassle of sorting through millions of properties before I found one that really suited several needs. I went with my gut instincts on a little apartment in Silver Lake, and I must say, I do NOT regret it one bit! Thad is a super helpful guy: He offered to phone me, and we went through the less than cumbersome process of renting out the Silver Hill's apartment. One swift payment transaction later, and that was pretty much it—I had a comfortable home to stay in LA for a couple weeks! It’s even check-in friendly: if you arrive late at night, don’t worry—you can still check in! The area is set in lofty hills, with a mixture of old Spanish style housing, and modern hilltop mansions. It’s a quiet, and charming place—but very Californian friendly—atmospheric, & secluded. If you're starving & need quick-access to food stores, a couple grocery stores, including the cost-cutting Trader Joe’s chain, are within walking distance. Everything’s about 15 mins downhill and a healthy 25 mins uphill walk. These come in handy, since if you’re new to the area, you don’t have to spend hours hunting your nourishment down. (Bear in mind though, this is LA, and if you arrive without a car, it’s impossible to get around the sprawling city). Inside, the Silver Hills apartment is very spacious, carpeted, wooded, and very, very relaxing. There's room enough to fit a family of 4 (preferably younger kids). If you’re a solo traveler, or if you're a romantic couple, there’s more than ample room for the both of you. I was happy to see an abundance of extra sheets, towels, cleaning products… etc, this is stuff landlords nix out on!! Considering that it's all inclusive, this is a amazing value!! For facilities, you’ve got everything in here: Cable TV, Comp, fast WIFI, patio, BBQ, wash-dryer, landline, etc. Everything works, and it's well seen to and maintained well. One of the best points, apart from the comfortable, relaxing apartment itself, or the bargain affordability of tenancy at incredible value, was the courteous landlord himself: Thad is a genuinely helpful landlord, and really makes you feel welcome to LA in a new home!! I journeyed around many areas during my time in LA, & I’ve something of a firm fondness now for Silver Lake. I'm missing my little apartment already!! :(

  My wife and I stayed a 3-d weekend in June, and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and its location, All facilities were clean and much was new. Bed was very comfortable. Cooking facilities were fine, as was WiFi. Very easy and secure entry and departure. Street parking plentiful (sometimes with a short walk. The area was very attractive for taking walks, and close to Trader Joe and other shopping. It was a pleasure communicating with the owner, who is adding amenities since we were there. We would be happy to return next time we are in the area.

  This is a big studio that is nicely furnished. The check in process was simple and Thad was very helpful to answer all my questions. The neighborhood and general area is very nice. I had a lot of fun when I discovered the Los Feliz Golf course nearby - a pitch and putt course for $5 a round. Also found a running group at the running store, "A Runner's Circle" that has an organized evening run through Griffith Park with headlamps. It was the perfect way to round out my trip of business and family obligations with a little bit a fun. I will definitely stay here again when I come to LA.

  My partner and I have stayed at Thad's in Silverlake several times over the last few years and it's always been great. The location is very convenient with quick access to Downtown, Hollywood, and freeways, plus lots a good restaurants and things to do within a mile or two along Sunset, Vermont Ave, and in Silverlake itself. The apartment is a roomy studio on the lower level of a hillside house on a quiet street. It is well maintained and cozy, and there are plenty of sheets and towels and kitchen utensils. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, centrally located place to stay in LA.
