The property was clean, and very close to the slopes as advertised. It is one of the older properties in the Steamboat slopeside area, and the interior and exterior of the property reflect that. I do think that it was a good value for the money. My only concern was that the front door is not lockable from the inside due to electronic lock. If you have very little kids there's the potential that they could walk out the front door during the night by accident. We ended up putting a chair in front of the door at night however our kids could move it pretty easily. The fact that there were three bathrooms was a very nice feature.

spring break vacation

Well it is 3/14/12 and we are here for spring break and I feel the need to provide a review while I am here and everything is fresh on the mind. I will start the review with some positives. The location is nice. It is only a short distance to the gondalo and we can get to town very easily. The kitchen is decently stocked with cooking utensils. Unfortunately, that sums up my positive comments. I am very disappointed in the condo itself. We arrived to a porch that had cigarette butts on it and a kitchen that still had crumbs. I read that there was a washer and dryer; however, it isn't in the condo, you have to go down two flights of stairs to wash your clothes in a public wash room. After I have skied all day, climbing down stairs to do many loads of laundry is far from exciting. The master bath near the door has a toilet that continues to run and we have had to go into the toilet ourselves to fix the gadget in the tank. The other master bath has a tub that will not plug so that you are able to actually take a bath after a day on the slopes. Both master baths smell like sewer in the morning. The entire condo needs to be updated. The walls are scratched and look dirty. They need to be repainted. We also had to call someone regarding towels. I'm sorry, but if you know the number of people staying in the unit, towels should not be an issue. The kitchen really needs to have some wash towels. I personally do not want to use a sponge on dishes when I don't know where it came from. With the pictures on the website and the reviews, I was expecting more. I don't consider myself overally snobby regarding rental properties, but I was definately expecting a little more. Sorry, but we will not return to this rental property.

Owner response:I'm very confused with regards to this review - the reviewer talks about having to climb stairs to get to the laundry. However, the building has an elevator just down the hall from our unit that conveniently stops immediately adjacent to the laundry room on the parking level. Also, I was never notified at anytime during this person's stay of any issues with the unit, and when I received this review in the middle of their stay I contacted the tenant immediately and offered to have the housekeeper/caretaker come over to help with any issues they may be having - but received no response whatsoever -and still have never heard another word from these tenants - so I'm totally mystified with regards to the basis of these allegations. In every home at times issues may arise, but our housekeeper/caretaker lives just blocks away and is happy and able to come over at a moments notice - there is also onsite maintenance personnel available. I am always accessible by email and can arrange any assistance needed. The bottom line is that we want you to have a great vacation and should any issues arise, we have the resources to address them in a timely fashion and are committed to doing so - please read all our other wonderful reviews to understand that our tenants have consistently loved the home, the location and the service we have provided.

the location was excellent... walking distance to Gondola square, gondola, skis lifts... The unit was nice with a well stocked kitchen. It is a great unit for two families since there are 2 master bedrooms. The owner was very helpful and helped make VRBO and Snowflower a great experience.

we spent presidents day weekend at the snowflower condo and what a great location! Short walk to the gondola, and ski school which is a big plus w/ all the kids equipment etc... Comfortable room, plenty of space (we had 8 people, more than that woudl have felt crowded). My one and only complaint is that the condo description states is sleep up to 10, which it could w/ a roll away bed and the cough, but in the entire condo there were only 8 towels. This was VERY frustrating, especially considering there is also and hot tub and heated pool. There were no pool towels available. We called the mangament of the condo and they said there was nothing they could do, so we then called the house keeping service and they just never called us back. We ended up having to acutally purchase more towels for our stay. It was a little detail, but one that was really frustrating. The fact that the housekeeping service didn't call us back was also very bothersome. Again, great location, clean condo, but frustrating towel situation.

I am so sorry about the towels - I understand that would be frustrating and you definitely should have had more towels for your use. However, I know that the housekeeper, Lupee, whose number is listed on the information I send out as the contact person and who lives just down the street, would have been happy to stop by and get you more towels. You could have also emailed me and I would have contacted her myself or instructed you on how to open the owners closet. I am so sorry if there was any confusion! Best, Leila

We had a wonderful time staying at the Snow Flower, steps away from the Gondola, parking is very easy. Hot tube and pool great to relax. A gem was found and will be used again. Thank you.

This condo really fit the bill for our family and extra friends. Steps away from the gondola so the boys got an early start on the slopes. We were able to come home and enjoy lunch without missing much of the ski day. The pool and hot tub were super relaxing and good fun at the end of the day. Kitchen fully stocked. I enjoy cooking-it have EVERYTHING I needed for a hearty end of the day feast for 8 people. I highly recommend this property!

spacious and close to gondola. great view from balcony (i did several drawings looking west). kitchen very well stocked with all the right knives, pots, pans, spices etc. walk to the steamboat grand across the street and check out the always open out door pool action (just act natural) and high end western furniture (yep, that was a live cow just yesterday). stroll over to one steamboat place (next door) for it's classic hemingway hand written drinking man's ode to work. more than your typical ski condo.

My family stayed here recently and what a PERFECT location it is! Getting to the gondola was an easy walk for my 5 and 7 year old even while carrying their own skiis! The pool and HUGE hot tub were very well maintained and were perfect after a day on the slopes. Within a block radius to the property there is multiple restaurants, bars, shops and even a grocery store. Once arriving we had no need for our vehicle. The floor plan is perfect for a multiple family stay as it has 2 master suites. The kitchen was spotless and fully appointed with everything that we needed. We visit Steamboat every year and we think this is the best value around!

Our family of eight enjoyed the location, the layout, and the convenience of this condo unit. No family squabbles because noone was having to sleep on a sofa bed and everyone had a room and bath. Minimal exhaustion because after coming down the slopes we had a short walk home without having to look for a neighborhood shuttle. Convenient to busses/shuttles to town and to small convenience stores and deli and evening venues so no rental car expenses. Easy walk to gondola and easy shuffle off to ski school for the kids. No complaints, comfortable furnishings, and most of all, yto work with landowners. (Also, this condo is situated right above the office so we could easily tap into the WiFI from the living room!). Highly recommended.

Also, I just wanted to clarify that there IS high speed wireless in the unit - I think I may have caused some confusion because a few years ago, we only had it by connecting to the internet in the lobby - but we definitely DO have high speed in our unit:)

Best 3 Generation Family Vacation Ever

This beautiful condo is right across from the lifts. You DO NOT NEED A CAR. We flew into Steamboat and saved a great deal without a car. You can walk or take the shuttle to restaurants & shops. Our teenage grandkids took the shuttle to the movies. It is the perfect location. Everyone can do whatever they like without waiting for everyone else. The pool & hot tub are wonderfully relaxing after a long day skiing. The apartment is spacious, very clean and comfortable. It has beautiful bedding. The kitchen is well equipped. Leila recommended great restaurants. It's the best place we've ever stayed in Steamboat!

Hi Leila, We had a fantastic trip!! It snowed every day we were there, and the skiing/boarding was great. The condo was really nice...loved the location, supplies, view, , the roominess, very comfortable, and everyone slept well. We enjoyed being able to walk to everything, and the local grocery store was a very cool place. I looked like a hero for the choice : ))) I appreciate all your help, and hopefully we can make it back next year. Thanks!Charles

My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times. On our second visit we brought some friends with us. We love this place and hope to return in the future. You can easily walk to the restaurants in Gondola Square, walk to the slopes or take a shuttle to Steamboat’s downtown. The shuttle is right across the street. Right next to the unit is a fresh food market and grocer. Great place to stock up on breakfast and dinner foods and eat in. Or to get some coffee in the morning. The apartment is cozy and comfortable. It has plenty of daylight and is very clean. Even with all our friends filling up the rooms it did not feel crammed and everyone had enough space to hang out in the living room and attached kitchen. It's a first-rate place to lounge after a day on the slopes. If you are looking to stay in Steamboat, regardless of the season, this unit at Snow Flower is an excellent choice.
