When you sign up to rent a property on line, you are a little anxious about what is it "really" going to be like. We can attest that this house is everything it appears to be from the pictures and description and much more. We were absolutely thrilled when we walked in. The decor and accommodations were terrific. A perfect fit for our family of eight. The boat launch is nearby and we fished off the dock everyday. We didn't catch that many "big ones", but had a ton of fun trying. We highly recommend a Wisonsin vacation at this house.
Owner response:You can be assured you will have a first class vacation at Paradise on the Pixley. Come stay with us.

We used to go to the lake when I was a child & when our children were little so we decided it was time to try another family vacation with our adult children, son-in-law & my Mom. It was wonderful & just what we'd hoped for. The location was great, the listing description & photos were helpful & accurate. Everything was neat & tidy. It was a great place to relax, play & enjoy family. The home has everything you could possibly ask for. The canoes & boat proved to be very useful. They did a lot of fishing but catch & release - guess no one wanted to do the cleaning! Even the dogs had a great time with the little chipmunks & red squirrels that visited on the deck. We went to Copper Falls - was really nice! The covered Bridge - we saw 2 Eagles in flight & a bear crossing the road so it was worth the trip! Any questions we had before, during & after were just a phone call away! I'd have to say a great time was had by all!!!
Owner response:Thanks Karen for your kind words about Paradise on the Pixley!!!! Reviews of happy family memories, and good times makes it all worth while for me. I hope to hear from you regarding next year as we had discussed. Best in all things, Lane

My family spent a week in July at Paradise on the Pixley and it was a wonderful experience. I remember during my childhood going to the north woods to stay in a cabin on a lake. We had great memories, but I always remember the cabins we rented as having charm because they were rustic, but I also remember them as outdated and uncomfortable. I remember the lakes as being crowded with other vacationing families and noisy with recreational boaters. Paradise on the Pixley had all of the charm of the north woods experience, while providing the comforts of home and the peacefulness you can only dream of. During our one week stay at the property, the only other people we saw were the once a day appearance of another fishing boat putting along the flowage heading for their favorite fishing spot. Across the water are no cabins or homes, only nature. The tranquility of being secluded, along with the occasional call of the loons was everything I had imagined it would be. Every day we were presented with the opportunity to spot a soaring bald eagle and in most days it did not disappoint. One day, my sons and wife canoed to a spot right under a bald eagle perched on a tree and as it took off in flight, they could hear the power of its wings whooshing through the air. An awesome memory for them. The property has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The three-person and one-person canoes got a lot of use, as did the pier that we fished from and caught two 18” largemouth bass as well as other sizable ones. In the home, we were provided with everything that we would have wanted to use at our own home. The best part was having the north woods experience and being able to go to bed at night in comfort, not having to think about some critter crawling over your feet while you slept. We weren't so lucky with weather – it was cold with occasional rain drizzles later in the week. But we were still able to enjoy Copper Falls State Park (strongly recommend) which is only a 45 minute drive from Park Falls. For the days where it was unseasonably cold at night, we built a small fire in the living room fireplace instead of the campfire outside and watched a movie on the large screen TV. An ample supply of firewood is provided for your use. If you want the north woods experience, but desire peaceful tranquility, a comfortable stay and a place to create wonderful memories, I would strongly recommend Paradise on the Pixley.
Owner response:Jeff and his family had a typical stay at Paradise on the Pixley. All the comforts of home, while being in a true Northwoods setting. Come stay with us and create your own Memories of a Lifetime.

We just got back from a fabulous week at this house on Pixley. We caught numerous 2+ pound small mouth, with a 4 lb. 4 oz. winning the week (he was released at the pier, so I'll be looking for him again!). A 36" muskie was caught, but unfortunately finally severed the line as it was getting netted, so no picture of him. A very large musky pulled my dad and son down river a piece and into the side of the bridge before stripping all the line from the reel. That made for a good story. A few other smaller northern and musky were caught, too. The abundance of rock bass--a nice pocket of them right off the pier-- ensured we were always catching something The secret to the bass was a leech dropped as tightly against the stumps near weeds (especially cabbage weed), usually about 2 1/2-5 feet deep, depending on the brightness. We got a few on top water plugs when they were after the mayflies, but artificials didn't work otherwise. Spinner baits worked for the musky and northern, but that fishing was better upriver near County Road B bridge. We caught many, many stumps and had to retie line more that week than I ever have on a fishing trip, but it was well worth it. Those small mouth were really aggressive and great fun! The solitude was tremendous. That house next door being empty was a plus. We hardly saw any other boats, so we felt like it was just ours most of the time. That's a rarity anymore, and much enjoyed. The upper deck is awesome. I enjoyed sitting there reading a book on the hot afternoons. The breeze off the lake and the quite rustling of the leaves is something I'll miss, especially since I live on a state highway! The bullfrogs were fun, especially the "roar" they made at night. Only one pair of loons was there, and they have 2 chicks. I love the loon calls, so I was always excited when they start. We saw the eagle daily. It seems to nest/roost across the lake just to the right a short distance. I almost hate to say how great a place this really is for fear of there not being any opening left next time we want to go, but it really is wonderful. I very much appreciate the fact that pets are allowed. My brother took his black lab along, and he may have had more fun than anyone. He had to give "kisses" to every fish we caught. With 8 miles of river to explore between dams, there's always plenty to fish, but we had really good success right across from the house in the stump field. We truly enjoyed our stay!

What a wonderful place to relax... beautiful scenery, lovely home and everything one would need to have a good time. We day tripped to Copper Falls and hiked with our dog (she had a great time),went fishing, cruised to other lakes, then home for cocktails before dinner. Add the jacuzzi and a very comfortable king sized bed and what a way to go! Thanks Lane for providing a very relaxing environment for my week away from work. Sincerely, Jill Nelson and Michael Schnur

If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors this is it. The "cabin" which is actually a home, was a wonderful place to enjoy family and friends. We got out on the water to fish and play(we found a beach with swimming access). There is plenty of space to set up a badmitton net, ladder golf or other outdoor games. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet while sitting in front of a warm fire in the fire pit. Overall, a great place to vacation. Oh, and a bait shop 2 seconds from home.:)

Paradise on the Pixley is everything that the web page said. Everything about the house details, house summary, and house amenities is exactly how it is stated. What could be added to the web site is the huge mowed yard. You could have 3 or 4 volleyball games going at the same time. This is an excellent yard for activities for any age group. In the last several years we have stayed at vacation homes and none of them compare to this one. This home makes you feel like you are right in your own home. What a perfect situation for relaxing. We will be back next year and we will have our kids and grand kids with us. After telling them about this wonderful set up and showing the pictures we took---they can't wait. All that is needed to come here is your toothbrush and any food you want to eat. If you plan to eat out every day then all you need is that toothbrush. EVERYTHING else is provided. Just a fantastic place.

When I first read about this vacation rental and saw the price my reacton was "It's too good to be true." Well, after spending a wonderful week in "Paradise ..." I can attest it's true and more so. The modern "cabin" is graced with genuine northwoods charm, from the mounted black bear over the fireplace to the many pictures of wildlife on the walls. Everything was as Lane said. The accomodations were so nice, I felt we were at some resort, not a northwoods cabin. And if you're worried about neighbors, we didn't see one the whole week. Everything we could have wanted was provided (except food). We even took one of the three person canoes out to another lake when the fishing turned out less rewarding than we expected (we didn't have time to find the "honey holes" on this new water). But the seven of us (and our two cats) had an absolutely wonderful time, regardless. Rent from Lane with confidence. You won't be disappointed.

Our family enjoyed staying at your beautiful home over the Memorial Day weekend. We all felt at home and comfortable from the minute we walked in. We enjoyed the view, the stars at night, being able to fish whenever we felt like it. We all would like to come back next year to experience this once again. Barb

What a relaxing long weekend we enjoyed with family and good friends! The kids caught bull frogs and had races in the back yard, the women laughed over a bottle (or two!) of wine on the deck and the guys fished all afternoon. (Apparently, directly across the river from the house is great for blue gill, perch and bass.) Canoeing was beautiful - and the fire ring was perfect for smores! There wasn't a single thing we needed that wasnt provided. We can't wait to go back again!
