19th Century Log Cabin with Modern Conveniences
- Minimum stay:Contact owner

- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This is a traditional log cabin with modern amenities. It is tucked away among the mountains at an elevation of 2370 feet with breezes whispering among the hardwoods. The situation provides a feeling of great seclusion, yet you are only a quarter mile from a lake (visible in winter) and are only three miles from the quaint village of Saluda, North Carolina, with quaint shops, restaurants, and old-time general stores. It is as if you stepped more than a century back in time.
You are a mere ten miles from the Flat Rock Playhouse (live theater) and the Carl Sandberg home. The largest private home in America, the fabulous Biltmore House, is a mere half hour away on your side of Asheville. All the other possible mountain activities are nearby except downhill skiing, and even it is not very distant. Or, if you merely want to rest and rusticate, simply curl up with a good book on the screened front porch or the open and leafy back deck of the cabin and forget the outside world. There is an air conditioner, but it is seldom needed.

My family and I spent Labor Day weekend here and it was perfect. Walked down the hill and caught lots of bass and bream every morning before going to the Apple Festival in Hendersonville. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and provided all we needed for 'home base'. Thanks Allan and Mimi!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband, labrador retriever, and I stayed in the cabin over the 4th of July weekend. It is actually a quaint, restored log cabin in a secluded location. We found it perfect for the three of us. The cabin is located on a small lake just outside of the town of Saluda. There is a feeling of being in a remote place but you are actually very close to the town of Saluda. We enjoyed walking our dog around the private lake. In the evening, we enjoyed sitting on the screened porch listening to the night sounds and watching the lightning bugs. After spending the day hiking in the Pisgah Forest, we would come back to Saluda, get take out from the Green River Barbecue and go back to the cabin to enjoy our feast there. The cabin has everything that you need in order to be comfortable. We wanted to thank the owner for his hospitality and would recommend the cabin to others.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This couple and their dog were very considerate and appreciative guests, and it was a pleasure to accommodate them.
