Exmouth House is Grade II listed and retain many original features. On the ground floor you have a lovely lounge with TV, wifi, DVD etc. Then there is the kitchen dining room with seating for up to ten, with a utility room and downstairs toilet beyond. on the first floor there is a bedroom which can be super-king sized double, a twin, or a triple, this has sea views. On the same floor is a family bathroom and a further twin or double bedroom. The layout of the second floor is identical with another family bathroom, the sea views are even better from here. We use zip and link beds which are very comfortable and give the maximum flexibility in layout.
Exmouth House is located in the heart of Old Cowes. This is the most characterful part of Cowes and is the home to the Royal yacht Squadron as well as the Island Sailing Club, famous for organising the annual Round the Island race and also the other Royal yacht clubs. Only 300 metres away is the Cowes Parade, great for people watching or for watching the busy harbour scene with racing boats coming and going. Also on the doorstep are the many pubs, restaurants and shops for which Cowes is well known.
There are four bedrooms at Exmouth House. We use high quality zip and link beds for maximum flexibility so the two front bedrooms can be triple, twin, or super king double plus (or not!) a single.
The other two bedrooms can be either twin or king sized doubles....moreless

Cowes is known as the Home of World Yachting. There are many yacht clubs, museums and other maritime interest things to do and see. Cowes is also well known for its maritime clothing shops. Outside of Cowes is the stunning scenery of the Island including the Needles, Tennyson Down and so on. The Isle of Wight is great for kids with two theme parks, great beaches and loads of other activities. the Island has a totally different feeling from the mainland despite its proximity. You can actually feel the stress dropping away when you arrive.
Cowes and East Cowes grew from a huddle of fisherman's shacks around two coastal forts built by Henry VIII on opposite banks of the River Medina and named after the two off-shore sandbanks or cows. The towns are linked by an old-fashioned chain ferry and have a tradition of fine ship building, dating from the reign of Elizabeth I. Then came the yacht building industry, as sailing became a popular sport, endorsed by the royal family. In 1854, the Royal Yacht Squadron was moved into Cowes Castle, the former Tudor fort, and the name of Cowes has been synonymous with yachting ever since.
Shopping in the narrow pedestrianised High Street is a delight, with some excellent shops, many catering for the yachting fraternity. The town also has an array of fashionable clothing shops, gift shops, delicatessens, cafes, restaurants and lively pubs.
