This is a three-story, four-bedroom, family home (circa 1998) located near the mouth of Hudson Creek's opening into the Little Choptank River. Located at the end of a peninsula, the 16-acre property has 1600 feet of shoreline. Every room in the house has a view of the water! The property is improved with an 80-foot dock where you can catch rockfish, croakers, bluefish, spot, perch, and, of course, the famous blue crab. The cove south of the dock is a great spot to dip your own soft crabs from lush Bay grasses.
There is an abundance of wildlife on site (quail, turkey, deer, Delmarva Fox squirrels) and on the creek behind the house. The bird watching is phenomenal! In the fall and winter, there are many types of ducks, geese, and swan in full view from the house. In the summer, it is common to see bald eagles and osprey.
Bring your own boat! There is a public boat ramp minutes away and you can dock in the slip provided. There is great fishing minutes from the dock in the Little Choptank River or in the Chesapeake Bay. We can also provide contact info for fishing guides that can pick you up at the dock! Enjoy canoeing in the canoe provided. Kids will love the nature walks, the paved driveway for biking, basketball, horseshoes, and, of course, the crabbing!
Enjoy water views from every room in the house - especially the third-floor game room with pool table, dart board, satellite TV, and wet bar! The master bedroom has a queen-size bed. The second and third bedrooms have a full-size bed in each and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds. A crib is available for little ones.
The open floor plan on the first floor affords easy entertaining from the fully-appointed kitchen with island into the family room, dining room, and living room. These rooms each have access onto the large deck and screened porch on the back of the house overlooking the water. The sunsets are spectacular!
There is a great golfing at the new Hyatt Cheasapeake River Marsh course - only a 15-minute drive. We are just 30 minutes from Oxford, 45 minutes from Saint Michaels, and 60 minutes from Annapolis. Day trips to Ocean City or Assateague Island to see the ponies are just a 60-minute drive!
We are the owners and we are originally from the area. We want you to enjoy our home and the Cambridge area and will help you plan your trip to this private retreat! |
