La Casita Las Palmas is a simple, two-bedroom, beachfront home located on Bahia Ballena (Bay of the Whales) in the beautiful pacific beach village of Playa Tambor, Costa Rica. A short (25 step) path from the house to the beach through a lush garden of native plants and banana palms, with an expansive front porch providing a wide covered outdoor living space, gives multiple opportunities to just relax and enjoy the unusual paradise of the area, sunbathe on the volcanic sand beach, enjoy the gentle sloping Pacific Ocean beach waters, cool breezes, or your favorite beverage while viewing boats at anchor out in the bay.
The fully furnished home, with fans in all rooms, sleeps six; four privately (all linens and towels furnished) with full kitchen, all appliances and utensils, full bath, and living room. A terraced backyard provides ample parking. A covered patio with a second full bath, a separate outdoor shower, and a small pool provide additional outdoor living space in the back of the property.
Playa Tambor is a small village on the southern most tip of the Nicoyan peninsula on the Pacific Coast in the province of Puntarenas. It is a small, friendly village with warm hearted people, local superb restaurants and cantinas, full grocery/beverage store, church, internet café, nearby (five miles) commuter air field, nearby golf course(s), nearby casino, nearby medical clinic, and just 12 miles to the great surf at Mal Pais.
Activities in the area include hiking, biking, bird/monkey watching, world-class fishing, diving/snorkeling, horseback riding, shopping, fishing pier where local fisherman's catches can be purchased each day, water falls at Montezuma, walking on the beach, pool table, Curu and Cabo Blanco Natural Reserves, massage/spa, or just relax and do nothing. Tambor is secluded and the gentle day to day community life of the local residents epitomizes the local greeting of "Pura Vida" or "pure life." Tambor is "Pura Vida."
