We stayed at the beautiful Villa Gummerson at the end of 2010. We could not believe how lucky we were; the house is very comfortable with lovely sized bedrooms. The back door opens onto a sandy beach with pelicans diving into the ocean and great snorkeling just steps from the house - in the the backyard if you will! We loved the proximity of the house to plenty of things to do, culture, beaches, good restaurants, but we also enjoyed just hanging out at the house and watching nature from the comfort of a sunbed. There is a cenote just across the road from the house which is worth several visits. I cannot wait to go back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We just got back from a week at Villa Gummerson. What an amazing place. My family (myself, husband, three kids 15, 9, 5, and my Mom) all had a wonderful time. The home is stunning and the setting is spectacular. Honoria and Sylvia were absolutely wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Truely a dream for us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fantastic time! We hated to leave! Your home is just beautiful! It was the perfect size for our two families. The beach was gorgeous and we snorkeled all over the bay almost every day…Thanks again for allowing us to share your beautiful home! It was the best place we’ve ever stayed in Mexico…Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

…wow…what can I say…What a beautiful home you have, we never really got used to the beauty of the place, kind of felt like lifestyles of the rich and famous!…We walked the beach several times and decided that Villa Gummerson was the nicest on the bay. The layout was well thought out. We initially were disappointed the pool wasn’t on the beach side but we quickly got over that…the pool was a nice Oasis out of the wind.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

…Just wanted to let you know that it was everything we imagined it to be and more…I also liked the proximity to the Cenote, both for my wife and the rest of the family who scuba dive but also for me as I love to fish….Honorio and Silvia cooked for us which was excellent. They also kept the place in excellent condition and helped us with any request.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Your home is so beautiful! What a piece of work! The floor plan, finishes, and furnishings are gorgeous. Also, the construction and “hurricane worthiness” is incredible…Our visit was the “authentic” Mexican/Caribbean vacation I had hoped for my family. My desire to get away from the “tourista” and see the Mexico I remember as a kid was realized. The home, town and area exceeded all our expectations. Tulum felt like ”our town” by the time we left. The people were very friendly and although I’m sure it’s grown up a lot, it still has that small town feel we really enjoy.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

…the house was just perfect for our family—it was so nice to be in a “home setting” instead of individual hotel rooms…Your help and information really enhanced our vacation and we sincerely thank you for your kindness.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house was just so fantastic and such a delight to come back to after a day of adventure or just to relax in and never leave. We enjoyed every part of the house. I loved where the pool is. We had sun lovers and sun dodgers in our group and with the way the house and the pool were positioned everyone was happy at any time of the day.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: My husband and I met in highschool in our hometown in the mid-west where we have resided all of our lives. I am a retired special ed. teacher and my husband is a retired plumbing estimator. We have two adult children, two delightful grandchildren and twins on the way! We serve as foster parents for Healing the Children and are active in animal rescue.
Why the Owner Chose Tulum:
We bought the property many years before building the villa. The area was just beginning to be developed and it provided a wealth of natural treasures such as the second largest coral reef in the world and the amazing Manatee cenote. It is the snokelers or divers paradise. Tankah is also very close to so many attractions such as the Tulum ruins, Coba, Xel Ha and many others.
