Our three bedroom house is conveniently nestled within walking distance to both Torch Lake and Grand Traverse Bay. The Torch Lake public park/playground/beach and boat launch are two blocks away. Perfect for every family. TORCH LAKE was named the third most beautiful lake in the world by National Geographic Magazine. The water is so clear you can see the sandy bottom all the way out to the "drop-off." Torch Lake is the largest lake in Michigan (19 miles long and about two miles wide) and is part of a chain of lakes which allows boating from Elk Rapids to Bellaire. Grand Traverse Bay is a short walk from the house, the shoreline of the bay is a great place to search for Petoskey Stones. The walk to the bay takes you right by a nature trail which provides great access to a quiet walk through the northern Michigan woods.
Popular tourist destinations such as Traverse City, Charlevoix, the Leelanau Peninsula, and Petoskey are all less than an hours drive. Should you want to explore further, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore and Mackinaw Island are worth the trip.
