Our one bedroom cottage with a large sun/sleeping porch is conveniently nestled within walking distance to both Torch Lake and Grand Traverse Bay. The Torch Lake public park/playground/beach and boat launch are two blocks away. Perfect for every family. TORCH LAKE was named the third most beautiful lake in the world by National Geographic Magazine. The water is so clear you can see the sandy bottom all the way out to the "drop-off." Torch Lake is the largest lake in Michigan (19 miles long and about two miles wide) and is part of a chain of lakes which allows boating from Elk Rapids to Bellaire.
Grand Traverse Bay is a short walk from the cottage and the shore of the bay is a great place to search for Petoskey Stones. On the way to the bay you will find a nature walk which provides an opportunity for a quiet walk through the northern Michigan woods. Popular tourist destinations such as Traverse City, Charlevoix, the Leelanau Peninsula and Petoskey are all less than an hours drive. Should you want to explore further, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore and Mackinaw Island are worth the trip.
