Welcome to Robinson's Cove beach Villas, located along a small beach in the heart of the splendid island of Moorea, 30 minutes away from Tahiti. Our 4 beach Villas are in an exceptional and officially protected site, right by the lagoon in Opunohu bay (the most beautiful bay in all Polynesia according to yachtsmen!), surrounded by breathtaking peaks and by a luxurious nature famous for its untouched and original beauty. In this Avatar-like surroundings, historical films about Polynesia are regularly shot (Namely 'The Bounty' in 1984 with Mel Gibson, etc). The largest private yachts anchor frequently not far from our beach Villas, as 'Robinson's Cove' offers complete tranquility and an excellent shelter, it did for Captain James Cook who discovered the bay and was the first to moor there in 1777; What is most remarkable, is that since the arrival of Cook and the Bounty in this cove 235 years ago, nothing has changed!
Car: Car: Mini van TOYOTA (A/C, 7 seats) is available or FORD Sedan (A/C, 5 seats), under a rent and drive package. Please ask for conditions and details by email.
Snorkeling / Diving / Lagoon:: Snorkeling: Just in front of the bungalow, there is a private sandy area giving direct access to the lagoon via a natural rocky stairway. In the lagoon you are on a small underwater plateau where you can walk for about 20 meters (60 ft). Then there is a drop off 25 meters (80 ft) deep. This drop off, home of many sea species, lets you snorkel in full safety among the fish only a few dozen yards from the Villas. There are no big waves ion our beach, because we are protected in the bay, so this is excellent for snorkeling!
Diving: There are many scuba diving centers in Moorea, Alix our caretaker will help you. Moorea is famous for his diving spots.
Excursions on the Lagoon: Whether a simple ride to discover the lagoon or an encounter with whales and dolphins, or water skiing at sunset, many service providers can pick you up by boat directly at our Villas.
Power Boats: It is possible to rent small power boats with or without a license.
Activities with our partners:: Horseback Riding: There is a ranch not far (about 10 minutes by car) in the Opunohu Valley for memorable rides in spectacular scenery made of peaks and lagoons. 4WD and Quad bike: For those who prefer the comfort of a motor vehicle, a discovery of the hidden paths and breathtaking peaks can be done in a Jeep or in Quad ATV motorcycle.
Hiking: On the mountainside or throughout the tropical jungle, there is nothing like hiking, but it is safer to hire a guide!
Marathon: Marathons, triathlons, etc. are regularly organized by the Te Moorea Sports Association.
Golf: The new Moorea Golf Course is 15 minutes drive away, near the airport. Spa : Several Spas are located in Moorea Island, including Helen'Spa, who created the first Tahitian Spa in 1999, ranked among the most beautiful spas in the world.

We stayed at Villa Cook and although we didn't need the 2nd bedroom, I have to agree that this is the best place to stay on Moorea. Very private and quiet. Amazing views. The reef snorkeling was just as good right off the house as anywhere else. At night if you turn on the floodlight in the back, we would see rays come in to eat and also saw an eel one night, very cool. The villa was very comfortable and relaxing, has all the modern conveniences. We visited a couple of the resorts to check out the bungalows and beaches and were really glad we had the villa instead. Very few places on the island with soft white sand, I think Robinson's Cove has the monopoly on this. ;-) Alix is an awesome caretaker, very helpful, always available, friendly and will respect your privacy completely. She had staged the villa wonderfully when we arrived with beautiful flower arrangements from the garden. Hopefully we will be able to return back to Moorea one day and we would stay here again without a second thought.Owner response: Hello Jed and Rachel... Well, THANK YOU!! We were a party of 6 adults and booked both the Bouganvillia and Cook villas. It allowed us all our own room and bathroom. It was an ideal location directly on the reef enabling us to snorkel right outside the villa. we hired the small boat for 4 days which we used to go to one of the nearby motus. During those days we encountered dolphins, swam with the reef sharks and mantra rays. We even got in the water with a humpback whale and her calf. We also rented the car so we were able to go shopping and to restaurants on the days we had a break from self catering. We had a fantastic holiday with everything running smoothly. Thank you Denis and Alex.Owner response: Renting a large Villa plus a smaller Bungalow is indeed a very nice combination for a group of 6p or more. You can all gather during daytime in the beach Villa and still get privacy with your own room and bathroom. Also renting the small boat for a few days (with a local provider who delivers it right in our grounds) often gives you wonderful memories as you can then enjoy the lagoon at its best within its protected waters... a very good choice indeed :) Hope to see you again! I planned this Polynesian vacation without my husband's input, so he had no idea what to expect. But during our week at Robinson's Cove, he kept repeating comments like "...I can't believe how terrific this place is!" and "...You are so amazing to have found this incredible house!". So that gives you an idea of how much we enjoyed our stay. Denis was very helpful before our arrival, and Alix was super during our stay. The location of the house was amazing, right on the water, with excellent snorkeling right there in front of the house. The house itself was airy and spacious, clean and well kept, and we felt instantly comfortable - despite being Canadians far from home! We found the breezes off the water were ideal here, and only used the bedroom A/C for an hour during our whole week's stay --- other places we visited in FP were more humid, but not Robinson's Cove. A real highlight for me was spending time on the gorgeous wrap around porch. It's very private, and the outdoor furnishings are high quality and terrifically comfortable -- there's a long cushioned sofa, two long cushioned chairs, a hammock, and a lovely table with 4 cushioned chairs. When your goal is to relax, read, nap and watch the scenery, it's important to have comfy places to do so. Robinson's Cove really provided this. The car was great, easy to drive, and was an excellent addition to our stay, I'd definitely recommend hiring the car with the house. The kitchen was also super - it's so much less stressful to be able to eat at "home" vs always having to go out and buy all your meals at a hotel dining room or restaurant. There are lots of yummy restaurants around though, so you do have plenty of choices. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Robinson's Cove, particularly as a private romantic getaway for two...it was perfect!!Owner response: what more to say :) My favorite is "we felt instantly comfortable"... isn't this what we all look for.
