My home on Warden's Point was built around the beginning of the 1900's (circa 1907) and covers nearly three acres with 360 feet of prime lake frontage. The property has five structures (main house, boat house, carriage house, pump house, and ice house).
All the first floor walls and ceilings are paneled with "wild cherry" and maple. The walls and ceiling of the second floor are also wood paneling. Much of the furniture came with the cottage and consists of hard rock maple. It would be classified as "catalog" furniture, but now collector items.
The outside stones are called "field rocks" which were picked from the fields and formed by the glacier flows. The cottage faces west overlooking beautiful Whaleback. Many nights I just sit and admire the workmanship, especially the fireplace. I literally can go back to the early 1900's.
A perfect spot for a FAMILY vacation, reunion or an outdoor wedding. |
