  We really enjoyed our vacation at La Libellula, the location was amazing, great views over the valley! Miriam and her husband were gracious hosts and took care of our needs with no fuss at all. All facilities were great, and the location could not have been better - easy train rides to Firenze and Pisa, and close to roads for Siena, Volterra and other fantastic places. Thanks!

  Si vous rêvez de confort et sérénité, de beaux soleils couchant après vos promenades en Toscane, A Country House Nazzano découvrez au milieu des vignes et des oliviers, ces gites, tout confort, décorés avec goût, restaurés dans le respect de l'architecture des lieux d'autrefois, parfaitement situés entre Florence, Sienne, et tout près de San Gimignano. Un accueil très chaleureux des hôtes des lieux. Miriam, très aimablement,répond à toutes vos questions dans un français parfait. Nous avons beaucoup aimé et recommandé à nos amis.

  We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment above the main house. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The only thing missing was fly screens to stop the pesky bugs and mosquitos in the evening. The views are stunning and it is so close to many of the Tuscan treasures. Miriam is a great host and very accommodating.

  "Accueil très professionnel de Miriam et Carlo qui conseillent et guident leurs hôtes vers les lieux incontournables ou plus insolites. Le gite est situé sur une petite colline au milieu d''oliviers et de vignes, autant dire, au calme dans un paysage superbe ! Sa situation en hauteur permet de profiter d''un peu d''air même lorsqu''il fait très chaud. Le gite est aménagé avec beaucoup de goût. Notre seul regret : ne pas avoir loué le gite du dessous qui bénéficie de moins de vis-à-vis mais surtout d''une grande terrase avec vue imprenable sur la campagne toscane. Excellent séjour."

• Late winter week in Tuscany

  We stayed in La Luciolla for a week during the beginning March 2011. It was exactly as shown in the photographs and Miriam has done a wonderful job in decorating the villa. The quality of furniture and fitout is a high standard. The bedroom is large and the bed is very comfortable. Miriam and Carlo were very helpful and provided excellent customer service. The kitchen has a great gas cook top and a wonderful oven to take advantage of the local produce. The kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of storage with a separate walk in pantry. A small improvement would be the addition of an electric kettle for boiling water. A washing machine would make the property even better. The location is very scenic being situated on the top of a hill with expansive views across the Tuscan countryside. The train is a 10 minute drive away in Certaldo (make sure you validate your ticket in the yellow box on the station platform at the start of each leg of your journey). From here you can travel to both Florence and Siena. We had a couple of bad days with snow and cold weather which we took advantage of to go into the museums and art gallerys in Florence and Siena. There are also some lovely walks in the countryside and we have left a couple of hiking books that may inspire other guests. We would also recommend a visit to Certaldo Alto and a driving tour of the surrounding hill top villages makes for an interesting day trip. A few minor negative items are the internet connection is pretty slow and there is a connecting door to the neighbouring apartment so if there are other people staying then you can hear them through this door and also on the floor above the main bedroom.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  We arrived quite late on a very rainy night and Miria met us in the town, suggesting a place we could get some food and then proceeded to drive us up to our lovely accommodation which is about 4 kilometres from the town of Certaldo. As there was a young family staying above our apartment she allowed us to view one of the other apartments so that we would not be disturbed. Miria and her husband went so far as to dropo in a bottle of the wine they produce. They were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the beauty of the area. as we had our own transport it was easy to visit the other places of interest such as San Gimiano, Sienna and we went by train to Florence for the day. We spent a week in this lovely relaxing apartment.

  Nous avons séjourné dans cette villa en septembre 2009 et nous avons tellement apprécié que nous y sommes retourné en septembre 2010. Myriam et Carlo sont des hôtes exceptionnels. Carlo nous a fait visiter les alentours et nous a amener dans un vignoble. Le site est exceptionnel et très calme. Idéal pour visiter la Toscane bien situé entre Florence et Sienne et tout près de superbes villages médiévaux(San Gimignano, Volterra, Montereggioni etc.).

  "nous avons été enchantés de cette location située dans un cadre magnifique et calme avec vue sur les olivaies et les collines de la toscane.L'appartement "Libellula" situé au premier étage d'une ancienne bâtisse est rénové et décoré avec goût dans la pure tradition italienne.   "The villa was very quite in lovely countryside of Certaldo. 10min drive to the nearest shops cafe etc also the railway station was was great for getting around if you don't want to drive. Would recommend it and we would go back again.The owners were also very helpful."

  "We spent a perfect week in a very beautiful place - very nice old house which is newly and carefully reconstructed, placed on the top of the hill with excellent views of typical Tuscany´s landscape. The apartment is comfortable and well equiped. The house is very good starting point for trips around Tuscany (Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano, Voltera etc.) The owners - Miriam and Carlo - are very pleasant and prepared to help you and give you useful advise.   "Une location que je recommande à tout le monde. Plusieurs gîtes mais aucune promiscuité. Calme, beauté du paysage et qualité des prestations ajoutés à l'extrême gentillesse des prioritaires. Et que dire de la qualité des matériaux utilisés pour la restauration : superbes. Mais l'autre point fort de cette location, c'est la qualité de la décoration réalisée avec baucoup de goût par Miriam, digne de figurer parmi les meilleurs revues de déco. Seul regret : ne pas avoir pu louer l'appartement situé en-dessous du nôtre : superbe séjour avec grandes baies vitrées, terrasse couverte avec une superbe vue sur la vallée et les vignes de Chianti. Magnifique."

  "La maison de caractère est effectivement entièrement et très récemment rénovée avec goût. Beaucoup de charme de par sa situation, son calme, l'aménagement et l'environnement. Situation idéale par rapport à Florence, Sienne et San Gimignano ... qu'on voit du jardin ! La description qu'en font les propriétaires est plutôt modeste par rapport à la réalité. Les propriétaires ne sont pas sur place mais faciles à rencontrer et d'un relationnel des plus agréables."
