We especially liked the roomy kitchen and dining area where we could all gather to eat and play board games & cards. The pool table was also a popular place. The guest quarters worked out perfectly for our grandson as he could go to bed and not be bothered by our late night game playing. The area around the home was beautiful and close to many scenic areas. We'll definitely consider staying here again.
Owner response:Thank you, AJ! We've had very positive feedback from everyone who rents the home. We're glad you enjoyed it. We hope that all our future renters enjoy the house and surroundings as much as you and your family did. It is a special and unique home with the separate guest quarters. You don't find that in many properties. Regards, Leah & Pat

Overall, a great place. Roomy. Clean. Nicely appointed and set up common areas. Convenient to Tahoe-Donner skiing and the sled runs at Turtle Creek. Lots of garage space (although our vehicles were too large to fit comfortably). And, bonus: a nice little sled run in the back/side yard. We had 4 adults, 4 kids, and an infant comfortably housed, with enough to do there or close by to keep everybody busy and happy. We may try to go back in the warmer months to partake of lake activities and mountain biking. We'll definitely return next winter for more fun in the snow.

I searched high and low for a Christmas week 2009 rental property that would accommodate two families with three grown children each! This one was perfect. Generous in space, sleeping accommodations and bathrooms. The kitchen was ideal for our Christmas dinner preparations. Lots of room to spread out. The pool room was a big bonus as well!! We made great memories here. Thank you!!

We stayed here for New Years week and made memmories to last a lifetime. We found the house to be very clean and beautifully appointed with all of the amenities you could ask for. Pack your clothes, pick up some food, and you're all set. It was very centrally located and easy to get to - even with all the snow. From the slopes to the grocery store nothing we needed was more than 10 or 15 minutes away. The pool table got plenty of use and we were pleasantly surprised to find an array of different board games to play with. The mother-in-law unit worked out perfect. My sister and her two young boys stayed there and it gave her some peace of mind to know she could be up with her baby in the middle of the night and she didn't have to worry about waking anyone else. Our favorite amenity was definitely the hot tub. After a day on the slopes there is nothing quite like soaking it all away in that hot water while the snow is falling all around you. It also gave us the incentive we needed to make snow angels in our bathing suits! The most memorable thing we did while in Tahoe this year was actually right outside our back door. There was a bunch of sleds in the garage and there was huge sledding run on the side of the house. We loved it so much we decided to go out there at midnight to ring in the new year. Then we topped it off with a little snow fight and one more soak in the hot tub. Ahhhh...perfection! Figuring out all the details of our rental with Leah and Pat was easy and they worked hard to accomodate our group. We would definitely come back again and we highly reccomend this home to anyone else.

Had a wonderful time at this house! Our large extended family was easily accomodated between the main house and the above-garage unit. All the amenities we needed were available and in good order. The deck was great for hanging out and BBQ'ing. The location (Donner) is fantastic and I look forward to renting this house again.

This is the perfect place for families. There is so much to do at the house, pool table, tv's, games, jacuzzi and more. The greatest is getting outdoors for hikes and nearby golf. The very well equipped kitchen makes it easy to come home and cook a family meal. It is great for our kids of all ages. Can't wait to go back.

We stayed there with 2 kids during the winter and had a great time. The kitchen was well stocked and things are clean and new. The sledding was the best! The location is perfect to get to the ski areas or downtown Truckee. I hope to go back soon!

Your home is wonderful and is the perfect rental for a fun family that enjoys playing, cooking, golfing, and hiking together! From the pool table to the hot tub and the kitchen which is stocked with everything you could ever want or need -- we love this house! The nearby hiking trails are an added bonus (not to mention great golf less than 10 minutes away).

We have stayed at this beautiful property many times now, during both winter and summer. The location is fantastic for both summer and winter activities and this very comfortable home is situated on a quiet street, close to trails as well as easy freeway access. The house is ideal for groups and families traveling together. It is a super comfortable well maintained house with all the bells and whistles you could ask for. Sitting outside on the back deck overlooking the forest or in the hot tub is a big treat. I highly recommend this property.

I have stayed at this beautiful home a number of times and enjoy it so much. No matter how many folks we have at the place (3 or 12) there is room for everyone. We've prepared huge meals in the big kitchen and had more than enough room for several cooks. We've seated 15 or more for a New Year's meal and had enough room. Adults and kids - this is a great place to make memories. Thanks for opening your beautiful home to us.

This place is absolutely terrific; the house is every bit as lovely as in the pictures. Everything we wanted or needed was there, and we were as comfortable as if we had been home, except we were in the Sierras. It just doesn't get any better than that!

We rented this house in July, 2006 with family and friends and had a terrific time! The layout is such that it has the space to accomodate your group all together and areas where you can spread out a bit... as well as lots of yard around it...very private in that respect. The deck area is great with the jacuzzi, barbecue and very nice outdoor furniture. Kitchen is fully stocked with the accessories you need...and there are board/card games to play in addition to the pool table, which was a big hit with our family. Location is great...not far from Donner Lake and a grocery store. We will definitely rent again!

The house is amazing, especially in the spring after the crowds have gone. We spent every morning going for a walk in the surrounding woods, afternoons hiking on the near by trails and visiting truckee. Sometimes we just fell asleep on the incredibly comfortable sofa. The kitchen is very well equiped so we hardly ate out. I would recommend this spacious and comfortable cabin as a true retreat anytime of the year!

This is a great house. And the pictures are true! The house is perfect for large groups but there are enough smaller areas that you can get away for some quiet time if you want. We've gone up with big groups and smaller groups and the house is wonderful for both. We have been in winter and in summer. There is no bad time to be at this house. Things are new and in good shape. The hot tub is a welcome treat at the end of any day spent in Tahoe. Love, love, love it and I'm going back for sure!
