Amazing Vacation Property

This property exceeded our expectations! Very quiet, cozy, clean and romantic. We LOVED the privacy, the location, and the immediate feeling of comfort. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already there! The property came equiped with plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys. We did not rent a car for the first half of our trip and were able to use the bikes to get to town. Wherevener we needed to go that our biked couldn't take us we used the bus. Being just a few yards from the beach made our experience even better! I highly recommend this property because I know I will be re-booking our next trip to stay here!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Exceptional Kauai Getaway!

We really enjoyed this studio rental. It was clean, and the owners were great to work with and very friendly. It's very close to the beach and town. It was a great experience for our first trip to Kauai!

Thank you for your hospitality your hale is cute, clean and so close to the beach. We both really needed the "down time" and this was the perfect place to be. Hanalei is our favorite place on Kauai. Looking forward to returning. Thank you so much for the avocados and papayas you gracious gave us. Everyone should also try Neide's (Brazilian and Mexican food) it was excellent! thanks again. We had a lovely stay at your hale. Everything was just as you described. Loved riding the bikes, using your beach gear and thanks for fixing one of the bikes. Hanalei is nice and laid back. So much to do and see Hiked the Napali Sunsets at various beaches Hanalei Coffee Kilauea Bakery Thanks again. We had a great stay: Just what my sister and I hoped and planned for. We look forward to our future trips to Kauai and to you hale.

Location was great. Accommodations were as described " not fancy, but clean". I referred to it as early college chic. The one disappointment was that it did not have air and was warm in the afternoon. This was not disclosed in the description. Chairs, towels,boogie boards and cooler were available for our use. The laundry facilities were available for $3.00 a load. The bedding was poor, the sheets had "pills" on them but we found a set that did not in the closet. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is your place. If you are looking for quality accommodations keep looking

Owner response: Aloha Regina,Thank you for your comment. Sorry that our unit was not cleaned out properly. It may have been something that was honestly over looked. We hold high standards for my unit and pay a good sum to have it sanitized and completely cleaned out before the next check in arrives. So I personally apologize to you both. I only wish you had said something when you saw this by coming upstairs so we could have taken care of it right away. We will talk with our cleaner and advice her to please double check after each clean out before she leaves. As for the room we have 2 fans and it was there for you to use as needed as most of the rental units in Hanalei don't have a.c. because of the natural breezes flowing through from the ocean. Yes I am the lowest price unit in Hanalei and if you check around you will not find a place that spacious (550ft) near the ocean with what we have to offer for that price. In over 10 years of business we've never had any problems so this I feel is an isolated case. What i am sure of that being a local family sharing our aloha spirit and knowledge from the island is what brings visitors back to our rental unit. We also extend our aloha by bringing them fresh flowers from our yard, sharing fresh fish from one of our catches, papayas as well as ripe bananas from our back yard. This is what keeps are rental busy. Sorry you stayed only 3 nights that was not enough time to really see the beauty of Kauai and Hanalei. We would have love to share our aloha spirit with you. Maybe someday again in the near future we will meet again. Aloha and Mahalo.

Delightful stay loved the area. My favorites kayak hanalei river, past the taro fields. Secret beach and the lava pools, Anini beach reminded me of Zuretti Park. Hanalei Gourmet Cafe has a very local feel. Mahalo Lloyd and Debbie

Mahalo for the hospitality. We love Kauai and Hanalei was our favorite. Loved Tunnels and the turtles. Great surfing right in front at Pines. See you guys next year for 3 weeks.

We will definitely be back to visit your ohana location could not have been better. We had a great time here, stayed for 16 days, it did rain a bit so we ventured out to the west and south side of the island, but we were so close we could hear the waves every night, the only thing we didn't like about the place was the flourescent lighting, other than that it was exactly what we were looking for. I rated this with 5 stars due to it being exactly as stated and it was soooo convenient to have snorkel gear, ice chest, beach umbrellas, chairs, towels, etc. It is not a 5 star hotel or anything, but for the price, and location, it was awesome! we wish we were still there! we had the most amazing time at your home two weeks ago, debbie! thank you so much. the rental was spacious, light-filled, clean and so perfectly located near the beach and in the center of town! we rode bikes every day to eat and surf and explore the area. we felt right at home! thank you for opening your house to us and your kind generosity. we cannot wait to come back. we left to spend a week in oahu after kauai and the entire time, we wished we just stayed with you! we even emailed you to see if we could come back for a couple days to escape back to paradise before returning to florida:) we hope to return in the spring. i will be in touch.... mahalo

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary and stayed for 11 days in this lovely studio. It was our first time to Hawaii; the trip exceeded our expectations. We look forward to coming back. The studio was exactly as described: It was very clean and larger than we had anticipated. A modest size kitchen with a good sized fridge. The living area was spacious and allowed separation from the sleeping area. We were so thankful for the other amenities that helped us feel more at home & take advantage of our trip: We grilled almost every night and saved a lot of money instead of going out for every meal. There were plenty of towels, beach mats, an umbrella and all kinds of beach items. We went for bike rides on most days and it was a wonderful way to get around Hanalei. The outside shower was great for rinsing off all our snorkel & beach equipment at the end of the day. The location was amazing. This is literally 2 short blocks away from a large, beautiful beach that is great for laying out and surfing. The backdrop of the mountains and waterfalls was incredible. (It may be a drive to other points on the island, but we just made a couple of day trips out of it for excursions... we also found we were staying on the most beautiful part of the island and it felt more laid back because there weren't overcrowded resorts) and the beaches on the North Shore are the best on the island. We went snorkeling at least every other day and we were a short drive away from the best spots. Lloyd & Debbie- mahalo for your hospitality! The fresh flowers and fruit were such a nice surprise. We felt so at home and the affordability of your studio made the trip possible.

Worth every penny, right in paradise

One block from the ocean, listening to the waves at night, coffee on the beach in the morning, this place was perfect. Nothing fancy, but quite fine for our family of 3. Walk to the beach, walk to town (or ride their bikes), or drive around the island. It's all there. It was very clean, the owners were available but unobtrusive, the photos are accurate. If you want 5 star, this place is not for you. If you want a laid back non fluff but clean and comfortable place to stay, this place IS for you. Very friendly owners. Even without an oven we fed ourselves all week with the refridgerator, grill, toaster, microwave, and range attached to grill. Even though seeing the rest of the island was quite a drive, it was worth it to stay in Hanalei very night.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Being in Hanalei for my friends wedding was magical! The Aloha Spirit is certainly aive and well in this beautiful town and on this magnificent island!
