'Listen to the quiet. It's the world humming.' Nestled down a semi-private lane in the woods where deer and wild turkey roam, this charming French country cottage decorated in shabby chic style offers a large deck, a beautiful gazebo, stunning views of the lake and 75 feet of private lakefront with Adirondack chairs, dock, three kayaks, a canoe and flotation devices. Faux painted stucco walls, MacKenzie-Child fish plates and mosaics, cathedral ceilings and one of a kind coziness make this the perfect location for a family of four or two couples looking for serenity and the quiet contemplation of beauty. Two fire pits, one by deck and one on beach, and a wood-stove, make for cozy bonfires. The cottage is also heated with electric heat, and offers the modern amenities of Direct TV top movie package with 700 channels and DVD player, Wifi satellite computer access, Gameboy, and a gas grill. Washer and dryer, pet and kid friendly; lawn and thirty-two steps to beach.
Beautiful, semi-private location: Although there are other privately owned camps nearby, the quiet is pervasive: awake to the sounds of birds and the lovely lapping of the lake. Located about half-way down Owasco lake on the east side, it is the perfect place for whiling away a summer's day. Hike the wood-lined half-mile road to the lane which offers a four-mile circle with beautiful views of the green fields and blue waters of Owasco lake. You are out in the country, and yet only fifteen minutes from the quaint village of Skaneateles and twelve minutes from Wegman's in Auburn and its other convenience stores. A perfect paradise for family and friends. Pets and children welcome- perfect for two vacationing couples or a family of four or five.

Cozy, quirky cottage

Tiny but cozy, this cottage was big enough for the two of us. I could see having two small children, but any more and it would be really crowded. The gravel driveway is quite steep downhill to the cottage and walking it with luggage is a bit challenging. The view from the large deck is lovely. Kayaks are available, but the water is several steep steps down from the cottage. The appliances are functional but old. The washing machine is stuck on one setting, the stove requires a match to start. The kitchen area is quite cramped and not suited for cooking big meals. The utensils are there, but there is not much room. However you can cook on the grill on the deck. Young families or fit adventurous couples looking for privacy and water activities will love it here.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A wonderful cabin right on the lake with great sunsets as advertised. The cabin was charming with all of the necessities. Our host lives just above the cabin and was very helpful and friendly. We used the cabin for a fall get-away weekend and enjoyed the colorful leaves as well as the other nearby lakes and wineries. We also enjoyed several of the nearby restaurants especially in Skaneateles. Always a great time to visit the Finger Lake region just before the onset of winter.Did you find this review helpful?
