The "Heart of Ruidoso" is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home offering a cozy respite for a family or group of friends and is pet friendly. The three rooms can comfortably sleep up to 9 with additional space for 2 on a queen size air mattress. The entire house has been renovated with new laminate, carpet and tile flooring, new appliances in the kitchen and cabinetry + all rooms updated with paint. Tired of eating out? The fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to have a homecooked meal or barbecue on the gas grill. Plenty and plush are the linens in both bathrooms and on all beds. The front covered porch is ideal for drinking coffee in the morning and the backyard offers a larger deck for more privacy. The backyard also boasts a new privacy fence that can provide a safe place for both kids and pets. We have also provided games, puzzles and videos for both child and adult entertainment for those rainy/snowy times or when you just want to stay in for the night!
The convenient central location, in a family neighborhood, gives you the option of walking right into the mid-town shopping district of restaurants and extensive stores. Other attractions of the outdoors, resorts, and shopping the area has to offer are within short driving distances. The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a 10 minute drive, the convention center and 2 golf courses are 10 minutes the other direction and direct access to Sudderth Drive which takes you to the Ruidoso Downs Race Track or to Mechem Drive and Ski Apache.

The backyard is perfect for cook outs, adding to the living space of the property and yarded for our pets to enjoy. The location makes it convenient to walk to the shopping and dining of mid-town.

The "Heart of Ruidoso" is owned by mother/daughter team, Marcia and Candice Makowski. This is the home that Candice grew up in and renovated in 2006 to rent out on short term basis so that the family could enjoy it also. Marcia hopes to retire to the area by 2015 and live in the home again.

I took a group of a dozen college students to the home in Ruidoso for spring break, and we couldn't have asked for a better situation. I didn't hear one complaint but heard many compliments about the situation we had. We really appreciated how close the home was to so much great downtown shopping and to Starbucks. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals there, and the fireplace was really nice to use. Thanks so much for how clean it was and so useable for our group. We definitely plan to come back to this home again.

We came here in the first weekend of March and it was perfect! The pictures do not give this little home away from home any justice. It was very spacious, clean, comfortable, and so close to everything! I highly recommend this to anyone whether its a group or just a couple on a quick get away. Renters very helpful and friendly.
