New leather furniture & new flooring, new appliances etc. Also we have put on a new redwood deck with BBQ house. A 40"HD, LCD, TV has been added with surround sound home theatre system.

We believe our cabin is a little special, its location and weather pattern, we think is superb, when the summer heat is oppressive Cloudcroft is the place to be, with its average 75 degree daytime temperature . The wildlife is prolific with bears, elk, chipmunks, raccoons, many types of birds feed outside the large viewing window and if your very lucky you may even spot a mountain lion!
The two ski areas will suit all types of skiers, the Indian trails begin at the front door, as do the snowmobile trails and cross country skiing, a covered ice rink in the village.
The cabin was built in '95 and is 4 miles from the village of Cloudcroft on the Sunspot scenic byway. It's set on approximately two acres in a secluded valley and surrounded by National forest. With sun on the deck all day and it's very quiet position it's hard not to enjoy yourself. The property has good access although 4x4 is advisable in winter.
The main deck of the property now has a wonderful hot tub to soothe those muscles and enjoy those fabulous New Mexican Skies
A tubing & snowmobile rental is just minutes away, great off road riding starts at the door, including the 40+ mile "rim trail". This is a very popular hiking trail which leads to the "Sunspot" observatory.
The "Lodge" hotel "on-line" and its spectacular golf course is just a few minutes drive, others are within 10 minutes drive. White Sands and the "trinity site", Carlsbad Caverns, Las Cruses & Roswell are all within easy reach. Ski Apache,"on-line" is around 40 miles, with the village of Ruidoso & its wonderful restaurants & shops nearby, horse racing at Ruidoso downs.
There are tennis courts in Cloudcroft and Alamogordo, a small airport has a good gliding club & private planes (fly in?). There is also a hang gliding/parragliding club with great conditions for soaring.
In Spring, Summer & Autumn, Cyclists gather on the Sunspot byway and enjoy hundreds of miles of great riding with awesome views.
Off road riding at it's best, bring your 4x4/motorcycle/snowmobile/mountain biking, (you are directly on the trails).
Note: It's worth checking "online" at the Lodge Cloudcroft for their "Murder mystery weekends" these are very popular and you will need to book.

A trip "over the border" to Mexico can be done in around two hours.
Los Arcos has great fresh seafood etc.
