It's always lovely when you arrive at an unknown place and find many good surprises. The apartment was clean, well equipped and set up for guests. We had a great couple of nights there and would go back there again on our next visit.

Had an opportunity to visit this location with my family. Everything was updated and the loft we stayed in was neatly put together. 1/2 a block away from town and the ferry line so getting anywhere was a breeze. Also, directly below and a few steps away where two coffee shops and a restuarant. Condo had all the amenaties to make a perfect stay. Tony

We had a wonderful stay in the studio at Courtyard Suites in early October. The accomodations were perfect in every way - spacious, comfortable, convenient. This studio was carefully planned with the guest in mind. The amenities were fabulous. We look forward to our next visit to Friday Harbor!

A lovely and relaxing place to stay

My husband and I stayed in the 1-bedroom unit to celebrate our first anniversary. We were charmed as soon as we walked through the front door. The apartment exceeded our expectations and was exactly as described (maybe even better!). The bed was very comfortable, and the unit was bright and cheery. The washer and dryer were useful, and the kitchen made it easy to prepare some of our meals inside. We particularly appreciated the cable to connect our ipods to the stereo and the games (Scrabble!) in the entertainment center. There was also a drawer stocked with brochures and maps; this was quite helpful. The location was perfect; despite the pirate festival in town and resulting chaos just a few blocks away, the unit seemed relatively quiet. The pastries at the bakery just next door were delicious... I think this apartment is my dream home! We plan to return to Friday Harbor and rent this unit again, hopefully with others joining us. We will definitely recommend this property to anyone who will listen!

Very clean, well furnished and attentive owners made this the best possible place for our family. If you play it right, you can easily be first in line for the ferry when your stay if over. The day we were planning to go kayaking was windy and rough, but we shifted gears and rented a 16' electric party boat with picnic table and it was PERFECT! If I were to plan another trip to SJI, I would return to this rental.

We spent two nights in the studio at the Courtyard Suites. The best (and worst) thing about the Courtyard Suites is the location. While it is convenient to the main section of Friday Harbor's restaurants and shops, it was not especially quiet....plenty of street noise, both people and vehicles, late into the evening. We had to close the windows and turn on the oscillating fan to drown out the noise. The studio was very clean but the furnishings could use some updating. The futon sofa was not very comfortable. The queen bed was soft but sagging slightly and a little lumpy. The bathroom is fairly small with plenty of nice towels and a good hair dryer. Nice upgrade to a flat screen TV from the photos. Overall, it was adequate.

Owner response:As owners of Courtyard Suites, we are saddened to hear one of our guests describe their experience staying in our accomodations as less than excellent. We routinely ask our guests for feedback so we can address any failure to provide our guests with the best experience possible. We have consistently received rave reviews for the comfort of our beds and their memory foam mattresses. This feedback has prompted us to replace this mattress and we are confident that we will once again turn the comfort of our beds into one of the highlights of our accomodations While we are sorry that our guests found our brand new, foam core futon uncomfortable. In this instance they did not use it for sleeping and we've found that our guests are far more comfortable sleeping on a futon bed than a traditional sofa bed. We do provide plenty of throw pillows to help make the seating more comfortable. Our studio suite is located in a cluster of cottages that share a courtyard and is set well back from any street. Both Suites are in a section of town that has no commercial activity at night; however, the proximity to town conveniences appears to make some noise unavoidable. We've received consistent feedback that our guests love our location. We have consistently been recognized by our guests for clean, convenient and reasonably priced accomodations along with friendly, responsive owners who are very easy to work with. In keeping with our difficult economy, we have not raised our "high season" rate over the past 5 years, and we've provided special reduced rates for our guests to take advantage of throughout the year. We stand behind our pledge to our guests of Convenient, Clean, Comfortable accomodations at a Great Price.

My husband and I stayed in the studio suite and could not have been anymore satisfied. The condo was just as described clean and conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the harbor etc... We only used our car once when we drove to see the rest of the island. We had a wonderful time, thanks!

We had a wonderful time in the 1 bedroom suite at courtyard suites! The condo was nicely updated, clean and very comfortable. Our kids had a wonderful time playing games, cooking dinners and watching movies in the condo. And the location was so great - we walked around the corner to restaurants, candy store, the waterfront, and the Whale Museum. I definitely recommend it!

We love to spend time in Friday Harbor, and this location is perfect for taking walks in town, yet it is off the main roads enough to give you a quiet evening. It is always fresh and clean and though they take pets you would never know it when you arrive. The suite always stocked well.. Everything you could need in the kitchen to cook.. Just a short walk to a great coffee house and bakery in the morning and great restaurants for dinner. The bed is extremely comfortable with high quality linens. Nice little deck for barbecuing and enjoying a glass of wine. You can't beat this.

We were looking for a place close enough to town that we could walk to wherever we wanted to go yet qiuet enough to forget where we we were. We found that plus a clean, bright vacation home that felt like our own which is why we will be back....to make sure it is being enjoyed the same way by "our" guests!! Kristine and kirsten also were kind enough to make sure I got back a few belongings I had left behind at my second home!

Hey, these people are great! They go out of their way to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. The one-bedroom apt. was just what I needed, where I needed. The beginning of the off-season is a great time to get away from distractions and write and write (which is what I was there for). Friday Harbor is neat place even then and the people are all friendly. I'll be back if I ever get the thing published and start a new book! George from California

This was my first time using vrbo and I was skeptical and worried something would go wrong. Turns out not only did I not have anything to worry about - I am constantly referring friends and family to this site. The studio condo was perfect for our weekend stay in Sept 2010. It was in the middle of everything (ferry, food, shopping...etc) and the owners were a breeze to work with. The studio was the perfect size for 2 and we felt that we should have invited another couple up with us because of the extra room. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with utensils, cups, you name it - even the shower was ready for us with shampoo! If you are looking for a worry-free vacation, are on a budget and want to be centrally located to everything in Friday Harbor - this is the perfect rental for you! Thanks! Sam M Fargo, ND

My family stays in vacation rentals every year. This property was great. The location is perfect, the rooms were clean and bright. We loved the bakery next door. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with via email. We would definitely recommend this place!

My husband, daughter, dog and I stayed in thw 1 bedroom suite in the Spring. It was so nice, and comfortable! We had a great stay, and highly recommend this suite! It was centrally located, and we could walk pretty much anywhere. It was very spacious and had everything we need! And, the most comfortable Queen bed I have ever slept in! I have even contacted the property management to find out where to purchase these for my bed at home, my husband will be thrilled! Thank you Courtyard Suites, hope to see you again!

We stayed here for a lovely long weekend last fall. The studio suite was large and comfortable for the two of us and our dog. We loved how EVERYTHING in town was within an easy and enjoyable walk from the room. It is also a great place to base longer day-trips from, and always a joy to come home to after a day around the island. We're planning a return trip next month and hope to stay here again. =)

My husband and I stayed in the studio suite for our first wedding anniversary in June 2008. The owners were very helpful prior to our stay. The studio was very clean, comfortable, and had everything you could need.....and the bed was extremely comfortable! We especially loved the convenience of the location. You really can't get any more centrally located. We walked and rode our bikes everywhere. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to come back!
