Perfect location for a great vacation with friends or large family. Six bedrooms with independent entrance and baths. Five bedrooms with their own WC. Sleeps thirteen plus children’s beds; big living room with fireplace for quiet reading. Perfect climate (Provencal sun during the day, warm evenings and cool nights), two patios for outdoor dining, one in the shade of a 100 year old Linden tree; big yard (several hectares) and a panoramic view of the valley listed by UNESCO as a world asset. Lavender fields in the summer with a view of the Mt. Ventoux in the distance.

Heated swimming pool (10m x 15m), table tennis, swing set, sand box, all kinds of possible excursions on foot, bike or with a car (Avignon’s festival in July, proximity of the Luberon, etc.)

The house is situated 3.5 km outside of Sault, a small town with public tennis courts with an outside colorful market on Wednesdays, a supermarket, and other shops. Possibility of horseback riding, spelunking, and parasailing.


The house was built in 1850. As an old sheep farm it was completely renovated as an equestrian inn keeping its original character. It sits in the middle of an elevation overlooking fields of lavender in the valley (which UNESCO has listed as one of the “world’s assets”) with the Mt. Ventoux in the distance.

The house is now a family vacation home. It includes six bedrooms with baths, five with WC’s. It sleeps thirteen (plus children’s beds).Two of the bedrooms are part of the main structure. The other four have independent direct access on the yard.

The house includes a large living room (76 square meters)and a fireplace with a sitting alcove. In front of the house are two patios, one in the shade of an old Linden tree (perfect for lunch). Each has a table and is adjacent to the swimming pool.

Situated at an altitude of 800m, the house offers a breeze during the day and coolness at night. The Mt. Ventoux shelters from the Mistral (north wind). The patios are surrounded by a big yard adjacent to wooded land perfect for children to explore. There is a shaded sandbox for little ones; a swimming pool two meters deep with a safety cover; and jeux de boules ( bacci ).
Numerous excursions on foot or with bicycles close to the house (Plaine de Sault, Mt. Ventoux, Georges de la Nesque, Plateau d’Albion, ect.) or by car (close proximity to the Luberon, la Montagne de Lure, La vallée du Toulourenc, Avignon festival in July, les Choregies d’Orange, the chamber music festival of Simiane la Rotonde, etc.)

It is located three and a half km. outside of Sault, a small town which offers public tennis courts, outside colorful Provencal markets on Wednesdays, a supermarket, and shops.

Close by is horseback riding, spelunking, and parasailing, and many restaurants with a wide variety of choice.

English speaking caretakers live in july and august in a separate cottage not visible from the house or the yard and are available to help answer any questions.

                                Très décevant. Sur 6 chambres, 4 présentes une odeur de moisissures et de peinture ou de desinfectant qui persistent malgré une aération permanente. Le terrain n'est pas entretenu, la terrasse à refaire, prestations médiocres... Le propriétaire beaucoup trop présent. On ne se sent pas chez soi.

                                Owner response: Ce message nous a semblé très dur. La maison est belle, très bien conçue pour accueillir plusieurs familles (6 salles de bains / WC, chambres avec entrées individuelles, grande piscine sécurisée …), le site splendide et nous sommes en particulier restés durant ce séjour, comme annoncé au départ (dans une dépendance invisible depuis la maison), pour être présents en cas de question de fonctionnement. En effet cette maison, constamment entretenue, a été rénovée il y a quelques dizaines d'année et il faut parfois savoir lui parler… Nous n'avons pas voulu courir le risque de laisser nos locataires démunis face à une éventuelle difficulté… d'autant que c'était la première fois que la maison était louée ! Malgré tout, et suite à cette réaction, nous avons décidé de baisser le tarif de location à 2.800€ par semaine en période de pointe. L'état de la maison, globalement luxueuse, est assurément un peu rustique par rapport aux normes d'aujourd'hui, mais la beauté et l'organisation de l'ensemble nous semblent équilibrer ce défaut, si c'en est un : c'est une question de point de vue ! Quant au problème des odeurs soulevé par notre (nos) locataires, il nous surprend car rien ne nous en a été dit pendant le séjour ni à la fin quand nous leur avons demandé s'ils avaient des remarques à nous faire. Il est possible qu'il soit dû à la fosse septique, problème classique dans les maisons qui ont été inoccupées pendant plusieurs mois. C'est toutefois un problème qui peut être traité par des produits adéquats, quand il est soulevé. Il aurait donc fallu nous en parler !

                              To book the rental the tenant has to send back the signed lease initialed on each page with payment of 50% of the rent.This payment is to be wired to the account of the landlord. The balance is due at the latest a week before the begining of the lease and should also be wired. For rentals of more than one week the following weeks (second,third...) are discounted by 400 euros.
                              The payment of a 800 euros deposit is due on or before arrival to help cover any damages or other lawful deductions.This deposit could be a check to the landlord and will be returned at the end of the stay if there is no damage caused by the tenant.Otherwise the deposit will be returned within a month of departure less the costs of the damages or losses . Invoices , receipts will be supplied.
