We completed a total renovation of our home in June 2006, conveniently located in the Sawgrass Community,(actually an island centered on the Island), very private, yet close to everything on the Island. A great cottage feel, with new kitchen and appliances, new flooring and baths, new furnishings and electronics, with a great new sun-room and deck. Entrance has easy access with a gradual ramp and four easy steps. Professionally decorated with a tropical style.
Our house, known as the "Sunshine House" is nestled between a small lagoon teaming with wildlife and the tidal marsh. The view is fantastic both ways and it goes for miles over the marsh. In the mornings, you may watch the sea otters go from the lagoon back to the marsh and the deer come for water. There is always something to see while sitting on either the top or lower deck. The lower deck features a double swing, ceiling fans and lots of seating for those who want to enjoy the low-country environment.
We are steps from the neighborhood pool, a fantastic tree-house and the marsh boardwalk. Stay in the neighborhood and take a quite nature walk, morning jog, bike ride or go crabbing from the small foot-bridge at the marsh boardwalk. A second crabbing/fishing dock is a short distance down the street.
Fripp Island is private and gated, as well as a wildlife and bird sanctuary, with deer, loggerhead turtles, dolphin, egrets,herons and alligators. The beach is very pristine, not crowded and minutes away by golf cart. The Island has two championship golf courses; Ocean Point, designed by George Cobb and Ocean Creek, designed by Davis Love III. There are also lots of tennis courts. During the Summer, there is Camp Fripp with daily activities for the kids ages 3 to 12. The marina has Island Excursions and all types of water craft rentals available. With your Amenity Card, golf cart rentals are available. For your convenience, we furnish four adult and four childrens bikes with the house.
The house sleeps eight comfortably and two on the sleeper sofa. The upstairs bedroom has a marsh view and queen size bed. The second bedroom upstairs is a loft room with unique, built-in twin beds for the children and friends. The two bedrooms downstairs both have queen size beds. All bedding is new. The entertainment center in the family room has a HDTV/DVD/VCR/CD. The house is very open with marsh views from the decks, kitchen, dining areas and family room. You will love the tranquility of our marsh view home.
For your benefit, we have the property professionally managed by Fripp Island Resort to insure your vacation is absolutely perfect, starting with the Welcome Center when you first drive on to the Island. If you need anything or simply wish to make dinner reservations, just pick up the phone and call the "front desk". It all adds up for that memorable beach vacation "get-a-way".

Why the Owner Chose Sawgrass
We loved the "low-country" of South Carolina. It is so rich in history that dates back to the first settlers of our country and even the pirates that roamed the islands of the South Carolina. Fripp Island is even named after one of the famous pirates, John Fripp. We are very close to Savannah, GA as well as Beaufort, Hilton Head and Charleston, SC. Fripp Island is a very quite, private island with security, yet located only a 1-2 hrs. drive from some of the most spectacular sights and historic cities the South has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our house is nestled between the tidal marsh on one side and a lagoon on the other. Wildlife is everywhere since the island is a wildlife sanctuary. The deer eat out of your hands while you stand on the lower porch. The view over the marsh is fantastic with the many species of birds, ducks and ospreys. You are serenaded by the lagoon frogs at night and the song birds in the morning. Yet you are only 10 minutes from a gorgeous beach over three miles long with no crowds.
Catch a perfect sunset from the center of the marsh. Or watch the kids fish, shrimp or catch a crab from the walkway that spans over the marsh that connects our neighborhood to the main island.

Old restored lighthouse on one of SC nicest State Parks. Park also has a nice beach and fishing pier.

We just fell in love with the "low-country" of South Carolina and Fripp Island. We found it perfect for family and friends and creating memories by the sea. Just a short note to express my appreciation for opening your vacation home to our family this past week (July 1-8). It was obvious that you have put a great deal into the renovation of your Fripp Island home and I wanted for you to know how much we enjoyed our time there. The location of the home is just great. We were surrounded by dear for the entirety of our time there-starting with our late arrival (about 11pm)there were two bucks in the driveway while we were unpacking the cars. The gator seemed to stay right in front of the sitting dock and watched our every move - although it made my fellow travelling companions uncomfortable (the kids thought it was awesome). Fourth of July is such a great time to be at Fripp. We went on the "Fireworks Cruise" on the Fripper and what a nice time that was - you can see the Hilton Head, Port Royal, Parris Island and Fripp Island shows. If you are down there next year, you should consider it. Thanks again - we are planning to return to the Sunshine House, but don't know when - we'll look forward to our return! Thank you so much!
