We will definitely look up this property first when returning to Rehoboth Beach. Great location, no vehicle needed to get around downtown. Clean and efficient this cottage had all your necessities in a quiet, private location.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+.
Only positive review would be the location...walking distance to beach and town...but,,,,,,

I found it frustrating to deal with the owner. Instructions to house, info re: obtaining key, etc. was not received as promised until I had to email again to get info. Sec. deposit check was not returned as promised, after waiting 2 1/2 wks I contacted owner and was notified check was "torn up" and would not be returned. I feel I need to put stop payment on check to rest easy now. As the cottage was steps behind the main out, numerous full and uncovered garbage containers and plastic bags of rotting trash from previous renters was our view (and smell) if we wanted to sit on the front porch. Birds were constantly pecking at them. The yellow adirondack chairs had to be scrubbed clear of old, dried bird droppings, dead leaves and bugs before we could use them. The welcome mat and front porch slab had to be swept clean of old, dead bugs, dead leaves and mold before we could begin to walk in and out of the front door. Used razor and discarded shampoo bottles were found in the outside shower (we decided not to use that shower). It seems the place had not had renters for awhile and maybe we were the first in it for the season but attention should have been made to these and numerous other details before we were allowed to rent. I would not recommend this rental to any of my friends or relatives.
Owner response:Unfortunately all guests cannot be satisfied. 1) Key and rental information was provided in a timely manner. 2) Security deposit check was never cashed therefore it was destroyed upon rental termination. I will clarify lease terms to reflect destruction rather than return. Return is used when damage deposit check is deposited. 3) Renters have the responsibility to put trash out front on collection days. All renters are informed that trash days are Monday and Thursday. Someone has to move the cans to the curb. 4) & 6) I have spoken to cleaning crew regarding these issues. 5) The welcome mat has been replaced. Thank you for pointing the deficiencies as this comes as a surprise since we have over 5 years of rentals and never had a complaint. My apologies.

We chose this rental because of previous comments mentioning it was good for a couple with a baby or toddler; we have a toddler. This house is cozy and just enough room for the three of us, although with a little one with an early bedtime, we put him to sleep in the pack n play in the bedroom (just enough room to squeeze it in there), then moved him and the pack n play back out to the living room when we were ready for bed. It was a nice little walk to the beach, had a great outdoor shower, pretty flowers and trees outside. The bed was comfortable to sleep in and the AC worked great. The kitchen had most everything we needed (only two kitchen chairs though). The house was very clean. We liked the house being back from the street -- it is a little house behind a main house, if you know what I mean. Because of this, the ceilings were a little low and my tall husband banged his head on the door jams a few times! Overall it was a great stay and I recommend renting this house.

This cottage is perfectly located one block off Rehoboth Avenue and an easy two block walk down a lovely residential street to the beach. While the cottage is tiny, it has a surprising amount of storage and we were very comfortable there (one couple plus a toddler- I would not recommend any more than that). The fenced in yard and front patio space was nice to have and we LOVED the outdoor shower! Never used the indoor shower at all (but appreciated having a tub for the baby). The decor was nice, too. The main house in front was completely separate and if we did not see the parked car, we would not have known that house was rented (never saw or heard our fellow renters at all). Would definitely rent again!

The first time I entered this cottage, I fell in love with it. It has beautiful hardwood floors and is tastefully furnished. The kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to eat in. The bathroom is modern and shiny clean. Storage is ample. Most of all, I love the location, tucked back, quiet, yet in walking distance of ocean, boardwalk, restaurants and shops.

This cottage is the perfect size for a couple or a couple with one or two small children. The decor is inviting and relaxing, and the hardwood floors made it easy to keep the cottage clean during the week (a hard thing to do at the beach). The large side yard where the grills are located is fenced, which made it easy to keep my oh-so-busy two year old out of trouble while we grilled outside or lounged in the chairs. The cottage is the perfect location; easy walking distance to the beach, but far enough from the restaurants and boardwalk to avoid any late night noise. It was a great deal for a week of relaxation. We would definitely rent this cottage again!

Small, quiet, and secluded. Two blocks to beach, two blocks to Rehoboth Ave. Easy to coordinate with realty company. Owner affable and quick to respond.
