Returning Tourists show Friends Niagara
(How did you enjoy your stay?) It was very nice, very comfortable. (What did you see/do?) The Falls American and Canadian side, Niagara-On-The-Lake, wineries and antique shops, took a drive to Lake Erie, restaurants. (Why choose Niagara?) We came here with our kids 10 years ago and wanted to show our friends.

Just like home
Just like home
We arrived with three teens and had an incredible time. The owner Tom was great he met us and was very accommodating. The house was so homey, with a room for each person which was incredible so they could keep themselves entertained on their electronic. The backyard was great where we had a barbeque and played cards as a family. I would highly recommend this house if you want to feel at home away from home.

Manager response: We wish to thank the Jannetti family for taking the time to write this review. Their guest comments; "We loved it. It was close to all the attractions. Very homey and comfortable for the five of us. (visited) Niagara Falls, Whirlpool Areo Car, harley Davidson, Hard Rock Cafe, Maid of the Mist, Jonnie Rocco's and Hooters. Last here 17 years ago and wanted to make new memories. House was great. Recycling was a challenge." In Niagara recycling is a BIG, we provide instruction sheets and color-coded bins, those not use to it, do find there's a learning curve. So, thanks for trying.

I would highly recommend staying at this house. Very affordable and felt like it was our home away from home. The owners Tom/Jenniffer Julich-Trojan met us at the house upon our arrival. They were very welcoming and showed us around their home and gave us a packet of brochures to help us with our visit. The kids really enjoyed having their own rooms and liked that the rooms were named after the seasons. We enjoyed it because it was close to everything we wanted to do around the Niagara Falls area and only an 1 hour from Toronto. Found everyone that we met to be very friendly, clean city with things to do for all ages. We are hoping to come back and see more things we were not able to see in a week.

Manager response: We wish to thank these guests for taking the time to write this review. We want them to feel that they have returned to a familiar summer home, even though it is their first visit with us. The house was built in 1913 and is 100 years old this year. We try to keep that charm while adding that cottage feel in our decor.

It was great. Visited Niagara Falls, Port Delhousie, Short Hills Park. (chose to vacation in Niagara?) to visit family. The house itself is just perfect for a holiday for a family. The neighborhood is run-down, but there is nothing you can do about that. Comment by Owner: the area is starting to be revitalized already and has been identified as the next inner city space to do so in our area. The area has undergone a major infrastructure facelift.

I really liked that each room had their own color of towel and there were ample hooks for everyone. We loved it (the house) It's beautifully decorated! The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. There are so many books, games and movies to entertain after an exhausting day of site seeing. Great water pressure! We went to Niagara falls and rode the Maid of the Mist and the Ferris Wheel. Also saw the Butterfly Conservatory (a favorite). Went to Hernder Winery! Amazing! would have liked to spend more time in NOTL, but too crowded. The only problem was the recycling program, did not know about the biodegradable kitchen waste program.

About: This is a family run operation, between our daughter, son, husband and wife, we run a clean, inviting and pleasant family vacation location. We meet every guest when they arrive and get them comfortably settled. Together we tour the property and are available for any questions that they may have. We feel that the ‘personal touch' is most important when dealing with our guests. Many of our guests are from Europe and showing them how home appliances work in Canada, or informing them about recycling in our area is helpful indeed. We create a print package of where to shop for groceries/alcohol/souvenirs, and where our local favorite hot spots are. We provide tourist pamphlets and brochures full of coupons! When someone has expressed an interest in our property, we also remind him or her to check out our guest comments. When it comes to convincing travelers that our vacation home is every bit as wonderful as we describe, reviews from past guests are one of the most powerful tools we have. Guests have told me they definitely feel better renting from a private homeowner having read other guests positive experiences. When a booking is confirmed, we email a receipt and send website addresses containing further information about our area. This helps them further plan their trip before they travel. When our guest’s leave, we always ask them for feedback about their stay with us and then we e-mail them a thank you letter. As the welcome sign on the enclosed front porch states, “Home Sweet Home”.
Why Niagara Falls:
As we live in the same wonderful area as the vacation rental home, we know what the Niagara Region and outlying municipalities have to offer. In fact we grew up here. That is why we create a print package of where to shop for groceries/alcohol/souvenirs, and share where our local favorite hot spots are. We know of the high end places to splurge and of the budget minded locations to save. The home is located in quaint Merritton, south-east St. Catharines near to the Welland Canal Museum Lock 3. Centrally located in the heart of the Niagara Region Wine District, driving time is 15 minutes to Niagara Falls, 20 minutes to Historic Niagara-on-the-Lake, just minutes to the Region's largest shopping mall, 30 minutes to Lake Erie beaches, 35 minutes to Buffalo, and 75 minutes to Toronto. A perfect vacation location.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Traveling extensively with our own children in the past and joining in on family reunions, we understand that a ‘home away from home’ is the best way to travel. Being able to spread out in a house is far better than feeling squeezed into a hotel room. Being able to cook your family favorites or to try local produce keeps the costs down. Being able to go away on vacation together, but being able to get away from each other at the end of the day is also a must. So we provide books, games and videos. For a families - Where a teen can plug in a lap top in their bedroom to reconnect with buddies back home, where a mom can have a quiet read and a cup have tea on the front porch, where dad can have a beer in on the back deck and admire the garden he did not have to cut or weed and where the younger ones can watch a movie or play games in the parlor. For couples – here you can have a fancy meal in the formal dining room and share the wine your purchased earlier in the day from a vineyard, where you can then sit on the back deck for after dinner cocktails and try some Canadian beer and plan the next days event, then all move to the front porch to play board games or take a walk just over the hill for ice cream at Dairy Queen. This house is a home away from home.
