Kamaole Sands house description

Kamaole Sands is one of the most popular condominium resorts on Maui. This ground floor, 818 square foot unit, boast two full bathrooms with two showers, one bedroom with california king bed, and a queen size Murphy bed in the living room. Remodeled in May 2008 with granite counters, new Cherry Cabinets, and all new appliances, the fully equipped kitchen looks out toward a private lanai with lush tropical garden setting. Take in the views of the lovely condo community from your balcony, and if you listen closely you may even hear the ocean waves crashing on the shore just on the other side of the complex!

Just a short distance sits one of the many BBQ area's perfect for cooking up a later afternoon treat. Free local phone calls, daily newspaper and weekly complimentary Mai Tai party at the pool every Wednesday with live music. A great work out room and a travel desk to help you plan you vacation. We hear time and time again how great our unit is for it's amenities, location in the complex and you will enjoy our extra LARGE Lanai in a very private setting. You will absolutely love it!!

Kamaole Sands also boast the largest swimming pool of all Kihei condo developments. There are also two hot tubs( one is adult only, the other is mixed family use), and a kiddie pool along with four tennis courts. Building 7 is just steps away from the Kamaole 'Gold Coast' beaches, the finest and least crowded beaches in all of Maui where you can snorkel, go beach combing, walk for miles and experience the beautiful Maui Sunsets. Kamaole Sands is a 15 acre beautifully landscaped tropical paradise. With walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and shopping.

A few of our favorite traditions to do while staying in our unit is to wake up to an early morning sunrise with a fresh cup of Kona Coffee, walk less than a mile North to our favorite Cinnamon Roll Bakery shop for one of the best fresh baked cinnamon rolls you've ever had, head to Alexanders for lunch or dinner where you'll taste fresh local fish grilled or deep fried to your liking, and end the day with a tasty shaved ice treat (ice cream on the bottom) soaked with one of the many flavored syrups and topped off with cream.

This unit is fully furnished, bring your swim suit, tooth brush and enjoy home away from home!

                    Great location, and all the amenities of a home. We loved that there were staples in the kitchen and bathroom and the access to the beach and restaurants was perfect.

                    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, people with disabilities, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

                    Very disappointed. We have stayed many times at Kamaole Sands..booking through owners. This time was a disaster. The condo was NOT as advertised. Needs a LOT of work. Bathrooms are a disaster. Had trouble with clogged toilets several times. Cabinets in bathrooms are falling apart...missing big pieces on the cabinet doors. A/C is very noisy and inefficient. A/C in bedroom is a huge pain. No one told me it would need to be emptied every 2 hours or the jug of water would flood the bedroom. This happened several times. People should be informed of how this works. Windows could not be opened in bedroom so no cross breeze and it was VERY HOT. The front office (with the exception of 1 person) was not helpful. Seemed to be upset that we rented through the owners and not them. Refused to allow me to print travel documents as we spent a few days on another island. The owners gave me a number for someone who manages their condo. It was extremely hard to reach them by phone and harder to get them to come out and fix anything. The couch's (2) were very uncomfortable. The owners tried to be responsive when we called them and apologized. However we spent at least 4 days of our 25 day stay dealing with problems. We understood there was a "partial ocean view". Not true...there is bamboo planted all across the back of the lanai and there is 0 ocean view. The condo was not as clean as I expected when we arrived. When the floor flooded, there was lots of dirt and dust balls behind the furniture in the bedroom. You could expect they would sweep and dust behind the night stands at least. The parking for this condo is a long way from the condo...and up a hill. Since we are both disabled it was a problem. Even our handicap placard could not be used even though there were many unused spots the whole time we were there right in front of the condo. We asked front desk is we could park there until someone checked in and they refused. I am concerned about this for other handicapped folks. It made it very hard for us. I have never given a bad report on accommodations before this. Needless to say, we will probably NOT be returning to K Sands for our next annual trip to Maui. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This condo definitely needs an upgrade! I will say, the owner tried to be helpful when we could not get their managers to come out and take care of things. I finally just called him direct instead of waiting for call back from managers. Not good!

                    Owner response: We appreciate all guest input, good and bad as this only makes us better. This was a very unfortunate review for us in that it also listed issue that we're unique to the individuals that stayed in our unit and we feel do not accurately represent our unit. We pride ourselves on the quality of furnishings we provide and understand that not everyone will have the same tastes or sense of comfort as others. We are very thorough and careful on how we list our amenities and take every measure to be as accurate in photos and description as to exactly what our unit offers. We also try to be extremely responsive personally and feel we have very good local representation with our cleaning company that also helps us respond. Unfortunately there were issues listed in this guest review that are totally out of our control like the interaction of the front desk with this guest and the location of our parking spot. We do send out a site map to every prospective renter showing the location of our unit and the highlighted location of our assigned parking spot prior to guest making a commitment so that they can view and see the overall site, where our unit is located, and where our parking spot is located. We also list our personal cell numbers on the final renter packet so that any guest staying at our unit can reach us at any time. Of the items we can affect we try our best to act very quickly as we as we do take pride in our unit and want every guest stay to be the best it can. We have talked with our cleaning company about being very thorough from top to bottom on our unit in making sure even under items that they can't see are being addressed. Out of all the upgrades we have performed to our unit over the years the two bathrooms still have the original vanities and we agree that it is time to change those out. We have contracted with a local company called Maui Closet to change out both bathroom vanities, sinks, and faucets and that work will be complete on July 29th 2013. We have two air conditioning units in our unit, one in the main living room which is wall mounted and the other in the bedroom. The bedroom unit is a free standing unit that has a internal condensation holding tank. This unit does require the holding tank to be emptied every few days, not hours. This is explained and included in our guest check in information we send out and exactly how to perform this 30 second process. Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions.

                    We just returned from our 2 week stay at your condo. We loved the ground floor as my husband loves to barbacue . He totally enjoyed meeting people and listening to the many stories at the barbacue pit. The large lanai was perfect fo entertaining as we were with a group of 8 others. We found the condo clean but I thought it would be nice if there had been a wet swifter for the floors. We really did enjoy our stay and hope to return next year.                     We loved this ground floor, corner unit with such a large lanai. We enjoyed sitting outside in the mornings and listening to the birds. The landscaping in this resort was beautiful and the pool is nice and secluded. The condo was well stocked and it was so nice having the washer/dryer unit in the Condo. We loved everything about the place! This was our second time to Kihei however our first to Kamaole Sands and we will definitely be back.

                    We just returned from a 2 1/2 week stay and loved the location of this condo. We had stayed before at Kam Sands in other units, but the proximately of the condo to the beach, pool and BBQ was SO convienent, especially on the ground floor with kids. This was also the cleanest condo we have ever stayed at in Maui. We loved the neighbors, and made great friends around the pool area.Thanks Chris and Rose, we hope to stay with you again!
