Perhaps a picture IS worth a thousand words; however, photos alone cannot begin to capture the stunning view, attention to detail and sheer comfort provided by this wonderful hideaway on the hill in Hiawassee. Even our own words will not adequately convey how much we appreciated our time at Logan's Ridge. From the moment we stepped through the door we were simply immersed in the sense of home, relaxation and enjoyment. Larry and Lisa deserve a great deal of credit for creating an environment where a short vacation can truly restore one's spirit, vigor and inspiration. We had everything we needed right there in the cabin, from the books and movies, utensils and supplies to the game room, hot tub and hammock, it was all in there and first rate. Everything was super clean and worked perfectly. When something required an explanation (such as the gas fireplaces and stereo) there were clearly written instructions to keep things stress free and moving forward. We relaxed, soaked, swung, rocked, lounged, listened, played, reflected, dreamed, cooked and ate, in what we consider the the lap of luxury. Fantastic, extraordinary and simply wonderful, thank you so much!!!!! We just loved it and cannot wait to go back again. Russ & Shelley

This cabin is beautiful. Larry and Lisa have put everything they could think of in the appropiate places so all you have to do is bring your suitcases. The view is just gorgeous escpecially in the morning drinking coffee on the back porch. All the rooms were very clean and so comfortable. A afternoon hike up the trail by the cabin took my family on a 3 hour memory they will never forget. Make sure you visit Brasstown Bald and Helen for awesome views and great shopping. Our dog loved the her new friends she met at the front door every morning!! The best part of this whole cabin is the peace and quiet!!!! Christmas was a success. Thank You Lisa and Larry!

This place is incredible and the photos do not do it justice. Lisa and Larry paid a great deal of attention to details. The view was awesome. It is great having the master on the main level for those of us over 55. We loved the area and ate at some great places. The dog Cletus that they talk about, came to visit us a couple of times. He is a sweetie. Thank you Lisa and Larry for sharing your lovely place. We would love to visit again sometime..

Hi Larry and Lisa, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time and hope we have an oportunity to come back again. Your place is lovely with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed Blue Cletus and bought him some dog bone biscuits. Would live to have seen more of him. The area is great and we enjoyed several wine vinyards. Thanks again for your hospitality.

We loved this vacation home! It was beautiful inside & out, and came with everything we needed to enjoy our weeklong stay. It was super close to boating, tubing, shopping & horseback riding. (And only an hour from ziplining & whitewater rafting!) My son & I did have a little trouble with our allergies, as we were unaware that the owners had dogs... However, once we saw the dog hair, we figured out why were sneezing & just took allergy meds. We loved being able to grill out each night on the patio & enjoyed the beautiful backyard fountain/water feature they created. The owners were friendly & had great communication. We had an amazing summer vacation & I would recommend this home to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with an unbelievable, beautiful view of the lake & mountains.
Owner response:While this is a very positive review, we would have had our housekeeper return and address the dog hair issue while the guests were there. We are hearing this from the above renters for the first time. We strive to have a very clean house for our guests and the cleanliness is often mentioned in our reviews. It is listed we are pet friendly and we believe renters enjoy having their pets with them on vacation. For guests with allergies, it would be impossible to totally eliminate all pet allergens. We will be sure our housekeeper is aware of what we believe to be an isolated event.

Me, my kids and daughter's best friend really and truly enjoyed our last-minute stay at this beautiful cabin that is so wonderfully appointed and clean clean clean. Owners were very accomodating, and went the extra mile to make us comfortable. We really had a good time hanging out playing board games, watching the beautiful sunsets. The beds were all very comfortable (I actually stayed downstairs w/ the kids on our first night due to a storm that rolled through). Loved the upstairs shower. Plenty of towels for everyone and then some. Kids played a lot of pool and pretended to be bartenders lol...I think that was their favorite room. We went to Helen two days in a row, which was only just a short drive away. We enjoyed a variety of restuarants in Helen and Hiawassee but also cooked in the well stocked kitchen a few times. The cupcake shop...OMG...loved that place especially. Thanks to Larry and Lisa for making your wonderful cabin available for families like ours to enjoy and build memories to last a lifetime. Can't wait until next time. Will definitely recommend to friends and already have!

This was our 5th stay (Early December 2010) in the NC/GA Mountains and by far the best. The house is wonderful and the location is great. Everything you see and have read in the prior reviews is accurate. We have become more demanding with each trip. We want a great view, internet, pool table, plenty of TV's and places to walk each morning with our dog. The property has it all and there is an understated luxury to the home that is combined with a warm family feel. The grocery store is close and we always like Zaxby's for fast food which is also very close. Take advantage of the many great State Parks that are nearby. Winter weekdays are great as there usually not many visitors. One final note there is a great dog from neighborhood Cletus who will steal your heart. He is a frequent visitor to the home and will show you the way on any hikes you take from the house. He knows the woods very well and gets along great with other dogs. I forgot to mention that the homeowners are great as well. Overall you will truly appreciate your stay at this property and I guarantee that you will not want to leave.

There were three couples of us at Logan's Ridge arriving Saturday, October 9th and leaving on Wednesday, October 13th. We were all in awe when we walked into this beautiful home and saw how beautiful and comfortable it was. The view was breathtaking from both the 2nd floor and the 1st floor. We spent our mornings on the porch drinking our coffee and looking at the view of Lake Chatuge and the mountains below. We were not disappointed in this home nor anything about it. It is even more beautiful than the pictures on the website. We specifically wanted to go to the GA Mountain Fall Festival to see some of the entertainers. The fairground is only a few miles from the house which was so nice and convenient. My daughter, her husband and my grandchildren ages 9 and 7, who were staying at Blairsville for a few days, came and ate with us two nights and they all loved the house. We grilled and ate on the porch both nights. The guys really enjoyed the pool table and the game room. We rented a pontoon boat and went for a ride on Lake Chatuge one day. We enjoyed the dog also. He escorted us up the hill to the house one day. I am sure there are a lots more to do but we did not have time. It all ended too soon. Hope we can go again. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone. Thanks Lisa and Larry for sharing your home with us!

Our family had a wonderful time with our vacation week ending way too soon. Had everything we needed and enjoyed meals on the deck everyday with the view of the mountains. Another nice touch is the falls. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Just all in all a great time. The owners are such a pleasure to work with also. Thanks

Lisa, This little card can't begin to express how thankful we are that you opened your "home away from home" up to us for Memorial Day weekend! It was absolutely the best vacation we have ever been on! The cabin was beautiful and the town charming! We went hiking, horseback riding, and tubing in Helen! We also went to the chili cookoff and the Hiawassee Beach and visited "goats on the roof" on the way back from Helen! It was a Magical place for sure! Yesterday Steve mentioned that we have to book another weekend! We can't wait! Thank You, Trisha Evensen

The owners are very nice and friendly provided us with clear directions to find their beautiful home/cabin. It is located on the very top of hill. We spent most of our time on the porch where you can sit and relax and enjoy an awesome view of mountains and the lake. There is also a hamock on the porch where you can take a nap. We spent an amazing time at this place and looking forward to come back again.

Once again I am sitting on the porch at Logan's Ridge enjoying a awesome view of the Chatuga lake in the peace and quite that is Logan's Ridge. The leaves are starting to turn and there is a crispness to the air that makes me want to put on a long sleeve shirt and just take a nap! I'll probably do that in few minutes. If you come here, just bring your own food and clothes and leave the rest to the owners. they have provided all that you need to have a great time in Hiawasee. All that you need to do is bring your adventuresome spirit and then just enjoy the tranquility. The new water fall was a great addition. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the fire pit that they have planned for 2010! it just keeps getting better

If you’ve never experienced the majestic mountains of Georgia nor seen the breath taking views of Lake Chatuge, then I would like to highly recommend Logan’s Ridge. This home will far exceed any of your expectations. You feel the warmth and excitement of this home from the moment it comes into view. As you open the front door and step in the WOW factor catches you, from the rustic décor to the spectacular mountain and lake views. You can’t wait to explore Logan’s Ridge from top to bottom. The hot tub and hammock were a wonderful added bonus, along with the awesome game room and viewing loft. Once you’ve headed out you will find the local attractions, dinning experiences, along with the quaint shop’s a joy to explore. Larry and Lisa thank you for your kindness in sharing your home with us and for the spectacular job you have done. We look forward to a return visit.

We had a WONDERFUL weekend at Logan's Ridge! The house is even more beautiful than the photos show. It is located at the very top of a mountain overlooking Lake Chatuge and the view is breathtaking. The house was modern, clean, and spacious. The master bedroom was nice, and although it isn't shown in the photos has a great walk-in shower in the bath. We had a few other couples join us, and everyone was very happy with their sleeping arrangements. The house was perfect, and the location incredibly scenic. We even got a nice snowfall on Sunday to top it all off! I would highly recommend this rental, and found renting from Lisa a pleasure. Thank you so much - and we hope to be back soon!

This place has it all--wonderful views, close proximity to town, all the luxuries of home...and your own friendly canine escort to the cabin. Let old 'Blue' guide you to this retreat where you can rock on the porch to the sounds of the newly installed waterfall or soak in the hot tub. I promise you won't want to leave. We had an awesome stay--experienced the full gamut of weather...from snow on Monday to sunny and warm by Wednesday. The views are outstanding--Brasstown Bald is just out the window. The game room is ready for your teenagers enjoyment. Who could ask for more? We'll definitely use this property again!

What a beautiful place to relax. It was everything promised and more. We came up for a relaxing long weekend with our nine year old and our dog. The chalet is perfect, very comfortable. There were detailed instructions for everything needed. Larry and Lisa are dedicated to making sure their guests have a great visit. The view was unbelievable; especially on a misty rainy day. The driveway is steep, but should be no problem for anyone who has an SUV or is used to driving mountain road. We will return.

Beautiful Place! Well worth the money to stay here. You'll be surprised at how nice the amenities and furnishings are. The views from either deck are unobstructed of the mountains and Lake Chatuge, and fabulous. We spent most of our evenings and mornings watching the sun or stars from the Jacuzzi or hammock. The owners are gracious people and are very interested in your comfort / satisfaction. We brought our 2 year old vizla along as he is part of the family, and as advertized, dogs are welcome. The kitchen and bathrooms are all "up scale" with granite counter tops and high end furnishings. Great place for a combined family rental. Satellite TV was a plus (loved the Tivo like record capability). I was able to do work (hated to), but because of the internet access I could get to what I needed. Verizon and Sprint cell phones worked fine. My wife spent many days in nearby shopping and craft places. My two sons and I spent most days fishing and swimming in lake Chatuge. Hiawassee has plenty of good restaurants. If you're planning to bass fish bring the big guns! Very challenging! The outfitter at the marina is the only descent place to buy fishing supplies and get good hints. Easy lake access and boat ramps but make sure you have plenty of power if you're pulling a boat up the driveway (very steep!) You may want to consider a rental slip at the local marina if you have a large boat. We were very pleased with the rental and will be renting from the Johnsons again. Would be a great place to get snowed in for the winter. We didn't want to go home. Thanks for a plaesurable stay :)
