This LUXURIOUS, private and secluded wood, glass, and stone house is situated on the Big Wood River, with spectacular views of Bald Mountain, and the Big Wood River from every window. Upstairs and downstairs decks overhang the river.
Located ON THE FABULOUS FOX & LAKE CREEK X-COUNTRY SKI AND HIKING TRIALS. The famous Blaine County bike path begins a short distance from the end of the long driveway. The property is on the Wood River, famous for it's fly fishing. Amenities include a gourmet kitchen, pizza oven, three fireplaces, wood stove, hot tub, steam shower, library, and exercise room.
The large and beautiful open master suite with adjoining study includes a fireplace, upstairs deck overlooking river, and king bed and flat screen television. There is a charming downstairs guest bedroom with a queen bed. The large library has a couch which converts to a queen bed. Hi speed internet, home theater with large 60" flat screen television, Tivo, and fax machine are all included.
Three hammocks, two outdoor fire pits, one on the lower acreage beside the river and picnic tables complete this idyllic setting. This house is ideal for one or two couples or a small family. No smokers. Pets considered. The house is still available for limited weeks in late June and and July and long or short term from September 2011 through 30 June, 2012. We stayed at this unique Timber home on the Big Wood River for 6 months and enjoyed all the seasons. The view of the river from the dining room and kitchen welcomes us every day. Cross Country and Bike trails are bordering this property. A great location for a couple who want privacy yet close to town

I love to cook and entertain. This house was perfect. The kitchen is overly well equipped and fun. The living rooms are delightful with such enjoyable river and mountain views. The master suite a complete joy. WIth any luck the gorgeous red fox family will grace the property with their sunbathing. And that's the truth!

As a 18 year resident of the Wood River Valley, I've developed a rather discerning view of where to 'hang my hat'. After my living situation changed this past winter, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay and this was north of Ketchum. I moved to the Valley to be in the mountains. The Maksik's house is literally at the trail-head to Fox Creek (one of the premier trail systems in the entire intra mountain west). In the winter I could put my skate skis on in the driveway! Further, now that the trails are open for summer, 3 minutes walking from the porch you are in the national forest. If you like to be near the river, the house sits high above yet right next to the Big Wood River. Some of the best fly fishing water in the Valley lies just below the house. My daughter and I spent many days picnicking, sitting in the hammock, and exploring the riparian areas upstream from the house. All of above adventures end up in the hot tub! Further, playing chess in the great room next to the huge fireplace. Anyway, if you want to have a true mountain town experience, the Maksik's house brings the best of all worlds - close to town, privacy and comfort in corner of Wood River Valley heaven.
