This elegant and luxurious Left Bank pied a terre is centrally-located, in a lovely and chic neighborhood, a few blocks from two metro stations (Varenne and Solferino) and a short walk to the Musee Rodin, Assemblee National, Musee d'Orsay, and Hotel des Invalides. Rue Cler, one of the best street markets in Paris, is a ten-minute walk from the front door, as is Rue du Bac, a fantastic shopping street featuring everything from lively cafes and elegant food shops to the Bon Marche department store. If you like the idea of staying in a quiet, very Parisian neighborhood within a short walk to all the bustle of Saint Germain, this is the place for you.
Located on the fourth floor (French) of an 1860's Directoire-style building with elevator, the apartment has been completely renovated. It features wood parquet floors, double-glazed windows finished with beautiful silk curtains, a mixture of antique and modern furniture, original art, and modern conveniences including wireless Internet, a flat screen Cable TV, a DVD player and Bose stereo system. It is ideal for a family of four to five with older children or for four adults open to sharing a single bathroom and separate WC (toilet room). Central air conditioning was recently added.
The entrance hall, featuring a decorative antique stove and ample storage/coat hanging space, opens into a brightly-lit living room/dining room. There is a marble fireplace (decorative only) with a Directoire-style mirror, comfortable sofa and chairs, the TV/stereo equipment and an oriental rug. The dining area features an antique "bibliotheque" in rich walnut and a matching dining room table that can expand to seat eight people. The kitchen is entirely modern and equipped with gourmet cookware and recipes for people who enjoy cooking as well as a microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher and easy-to-use espresso maker for those looking for speed and convenience.
Both bedrooms are bright and comfortable, with windows overlooking the street. They are outfitted with luxurious sheets, feather pillows and comforters. The queen bedroom, with its cream and gold tones, features side tables, individually controlled reading lamps and a walk-in closet with a dresser and additional space for clothes. The larger bedroom has a king-sized bed (which can be converted into two twin beds), a built-in bookcase, two small closets and a long side table, which can be expanded to form a large desk.
The bathroom has been completely remodeled, with recessed lights, a large mirrored cabinet, a spacious walk-in shower, a sink with a large shelf below, and a towel warming rack. The toilet is in a separate room at the end of a curving hall hung with interesting photographs. Laundry facilities (a separate washer and dryer, both new) are located behind sliding doors.

This apartment has everything a family could want while visiting Paris! It exudes old Parisian charm with every modern convenience! The location is perfect for walking to the main sights and wonderful neighborhoods. The grocery store is very close and the Metro is easy to get to and use. We will definitely stay here every time we are in Paris. This extremely well appointed and maintained apartment made our stay so pleasant. Thank you to the gracious owners for letting us stay in your home!!

This apartment provided our family of 3, one of whom is 16 years old, with everything we could have wanted for the perfect holiday in Paris. It is located near Musee d'Orsay on a surprisingly quiet street shared with embassies and around the corner from the museum and peaceful gardens of Rodin's former home. Inside of this home away from home, the rooms are both beautiful and comfortably livable. The bedrooms are separated by the living room, offering real privacy. The owners have upgraded the apartment with all the conveniences: reliable Wi-Fi, a thoroughly outfitted kitchen, both washer and dryer. They have wisely replaced all of the window but have left in place the beautiful old flooring. Their travel library rivals the best bookstores, and the DVD collection includes classics such as Children of Paradise. In short, heavenly; unreservedly 5 stars.

I stayed in this apartment for a week with my husband and two young children. We travel frequently and rarely stay in hotels. This is the best privately owned home we've stayed in. The location is perfect for a true Parisian experience. There are 2 patisseries, a grocery store, a butcher, several restaurants, 2 metro stations, even a beautiful church all within a short walking distance. We were greeted by Neill from the management staff and he took time to show us how everything in the apartment worked. There is a fabulous book left by the owners with information regarding everything in the apartment plus tips for restaurants and shopping. We really appreciated the washer/dryer and the Nespresso machine. We cannot wait to return! Thank you for everything.

This wonderful Paris apartment is all this listing describes and more. Our family (my husband, our 23 year old son, and myself) just spent over a week here and fell in love with it. If you want the experience of feeling a part of a Parisian neighborhood, being able to walk to two nearby patisseries for morning croissants, and shopping for fresh food at one of the top outdoor markets, this is the place! It is convenient to everything including 2 metro stations, taxi stands if you need them, and wonderful restaurants and shops. We walked almost everywhere but the metro was easy and accessible. The management staff were a pleasure to deal with prior to our visit, greeted us when we arrived, settled us in, and arranged for our taxi upon our departure. Everything is top quality, clean and luxurious. We especially enjoyed the nespresso machine (quick, easy way to make espresso), the wireless internet, all the adapters for our US plugs, the washer and dryer, and the binder full of information about favorite area restaurants, shops, suggestions for using transportation, you name it, it was in there! The bookshelves were filled with Paris travel and museum guides. A huge bonus was the use of two cell phones. What a relief to be able to contact our son when he went off to do his own exploring. We had no issues with noise from other apartments and the elevator worked fine every time we used it. We plan to come back to this beautiful home as soon as we can. We highly recommend it.

Our family of 4 (my husband, 21 & 17 year old children & myself) stayed at this delightful apartment for 6 nights in July. The apartment was very well equipped with many amenities, from the milk steamer in the kitchen to comfortable bedding on the beds. We appreciated the modern appliances especially the washer/dryer which came in handy. There is a (very tiny) elevator in the building, however, it seemed to be out of service more than in service but we didn't mind the walk up the stairs for a little exercise. However, anyone with mobility problems may want to make sure the elevator is working. The location is perfect as there are 2 Metro stations quite close and you can get almost anywhere in Paris on the Metro once you get the hang of it. The apartment is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Rodin Museum, Musee D'Orsay, Rue Cler (great for picnic supplies!) and several cafes/brasseries. The only negative during our stay were the occupants in the apartment above. For some reason most nights from around 10PM to 2AM it sounded like they were dragging furniture around up there which made quite a bit of noise and made it very hard to sleep. Hopefully, we just were unlucky and it is not something that occurs all the time. All in all, we really enjoyed coming back to the apartment after a full day of sightseeing and having a truly Parisian place to relax and recap our day with a nice glass of wine before heading out for dinner.

Location! Location! Location!! This was the perfect launchpad for our all too short stay in Paris. It was really fun to stay in a neighborhood in the center of everything. it was quite but so so convenient. There with our 2 young sons, taking a flat was an ideal option and this place was perfect. Comfortable luxury. Homey, well appointed, and clean. The management company in Paris who help the US owners was excellent, we were very well taken care of. The owners think of everything and offer extra amenities that were unexpected but very helpful. Great layout for our family. Good beds, nice sheets, great kitchen.

Just returned from a stay at this terrific Parisian flat in the 7th, and seeing the photos listed here (which perfectly depict the apartment) makes me want to go right back! Like many I'm sure, I was hesitant at first about renting a flat in a foreign city from complete strangers over the Internet; but the owners put me completely at ease, walked me through the rental process, and made sure I had all the apartment info I needed well in advance of my departure date. Upon arrival at the flat, my group was met by a greeter who showed us the workings of the flat and got us settled in -- quite helpful to a group of very jet-lagged travelers. We were so pleased the place looked just as charming in person as it appeared in the photos on this site. What may not be obvious from the pics is how spacious, light-filled and well laid out the flat is. We were a group of three adults, but even a couple additional folks wouldn't have been a problem. Originally, we weren't sure about sharing one bathroom, but that never became an issue. The bathroom was very nicely sized, had a real American-type shower (with a FULL glass door), a large sink area with lots of storage, a hair dryer and even a towel warmer. And having a separate WC (with a sink and mirror) was a great plus. As was the updated and fully equipped kitchen. My own kitchen could take some lessons! The kitchen was outfitted with full-size, modern appliances and even had a pod-type coffee maker (a big hit with my group), electric kettle and a French press in case you wanted to be totally Parisian. Every imaginable dish, glass, cup, utensil, pot, pan, etc., was stocked in the roomy cabinets, along with some great cookbooks for those eat-in meals. The beds and bedding were divine (and I'm a tough critic), and there were even the luxuriously-sized bath sheets to wrap up in after stepping out of the shower. Try finding those at a hotel. Forget lugging your guidebooks: the owners provided more books on sightseeing, exploring, speaking the language, shopping, dining (marked with reviews of places they recommend), etc., than are available in my hometown bookstore! And they've also compiled a large box of every conceivable map of Paris and environs, along with Metro info, etc. A very nice touch. All that, along with a separate washer and dryer, AC, and a GREAT location (near many attractions, shops, eateries, and two Metro stops) makes this a place I look forward to staying at again soon!
