Me and my family have stayed here twice now and we love it. Lee and Maria are so kind and love sharing the Island with you. Great location on the Island quiet and peaceful... the opposite of the resorts. Close to the most beautiful on the planet! We can not wait to get back. Aloha Brian, Traci and Noah

We really enjoyed staying here. Lee and Maria were very accommodating and our son loved running around on the grass and looking up to the mountain for the "white goat" : ) Beautiful fruit trees, not too far from the main road, but very private. Thanks! - Jenn, Rajeev and Eevie

This is an excellent alternative to a large hotel. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to tour the island and quickly get to the north shore or take a drive to the south shore. Kapa is close by with a cute cafe for breakfast. We rented bikes in Kapa and rode along the shore and had the most amazing whale sightings. The owners Lee and Maria are very warm and friendly. If you stay, do yourself a favor and book a massage with Maria, it will definitely help to get you in the relaxed Hawaiian vacation mode. We would definitely stay here again!

A truly great place to stay if you want to experience true Hawaii, true Kauai. Kauai is peaceful and beautiful, and this place is the way to experience that. This was relaxation - the best vacation we've had in years. Will go back in a heartbeat! The owners are gracious and warm, and give great advice on where to go to sight-see, eat, and swim. The house was clean and in a beautiful setting, with the mountains on one side, and the ocean on the other. Our teen boys had plenty to do with the water so close, and a quick trip to local restaurants, etc. was easy. You can find mega resorts anywhere. They may be nice, but they all feel the same once you're on the grounds. This place is so much better! We all instantly loved this place. We regret we didn't stay even longer! Next time... next time.

Excellent, Relaxing, and Beautiful
Excellent, Relaxing, and Beautiful
I have been vacationing in Kauai for over 15 years and I have found the perfect VRBO. I refuse to stay anywhere else, even though we can afford it. The grounds are beautifully kept and tropical with stunning views of "Kong" mountain and the valley surrounding it. The area is quiet and gives you the true feeling of Hawaii with tropical birds and the scent of Plumerias floating in the gentle trade winds. The location is ideal and puts you anywhere on the island easily. The Lush North Shore and quaint town of Hanalei is close by. The busier Kapaa town is very close with plenty of Grocery stores, Farmers, Market, Fruit Stands, and resteraunts. The accommadations are excellent and comfortable. The interior is very clean and nicely decorated. The beds are very nice with clean modern linens. The place was spotless and felt very homy. The owners live nearby on the property and are so gracious and helpful. At the same time they give you your space making you feel like your truly on vacation. I cannot recommend this place enough and I plan my return visit every year before I even leave. In summary the hosts, location, grounds, rental unit cannot be beat. The affordability of the units is also very attractive leaving you with plenty of spending money for all the wonderful activites on the most beautiful Island in Hawaii.

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing Kauai rental!!!
Beautiful, quiet and relaxing Kauai rental!!!
We try to come to Kauai every year, and when we are able to, we stay here! We are a family of four with 2 small children. This property is just off the main road, and yet you feel like you're literally in the jungle. On the upstairs back lanai you have a view of the King Kong profile mountain, it is breathtaking, and upstairs front lanai a view of the ocean. The inside is always clean, you have one room and pull out areas for sleeping kids in living areas. Always clean and well maintained. It only takes about 5 minutes by car to the beach. There is an outside 'shower'....so awesome (no doors, but it's on the backside of the house where nobody can see you!!). Has a large front grass area where our kids love to play. There are banana trees, plumerias and palms galore, it is very private. The owners are awesome....super nice and outgoing and are helpful with places to go, eat and see. Kapa'a town is very close drive.....and the drive to Princeville and Hanalei is something you will never forget. You can't beat this place...or the price!!!!

My husband and I stayed for a week at Hale Kalalea, and enjoyed every minute. The fresh warm breezes blowing through were delightful, and the birds singing us awake in the morning couldn't have been more peaceful. The owners were very helpful with advice on places to go, beaches, etc., and they're the nicest people! Everything was very clean, and it was so nice to have some small appliances in the kitchen (like the blender!). We would definitely stay again.

Home Away from Home
Home Away from Home
I spent 3 weeks last October at this property. I loved the studio for just one person. Had all the amenities I needed. It was clean and well cared for, the owners were attentive and quick to respond to any and all of my questions and needs. After 10 days, my sister arrived on island and we moved into the upstairs unit for the remaining 10 days. It had much more room and was a serious upgrade with a very comfy king bed, large bathroom with tiled shower and whirlpool bathtub, expanded kitchen, sitting area, and two lanais. Again, the unit was clean and very comfortable. I loved the views of the ocean and the mountains.
