My wife and I recently enjoyed a long Valentine's Day weekend in Guerenville, and stayed at the Riverside Lodge. The accommodations were awesome, including one of the best views of the river either of us had ever experienced. The kitchen is well-stocked, and distance to restaurants/downtown is awesome. It's dog friendly, too! The management team also earns 5 stars. They were completely top notch from beginning to end.---as reviewed on Flipkey

This was our third Christmas at Riverside Lodge. When we drove up and saw the entry lined with holiday lights, a wreath homemade with forest sprigs and tied with a red ribbon on the door and then the mantle garland and the velvet stockings already hung we knew we were home for the holidays. Each morning through the wall of windows overlooking the river we watched the thick cotton candy fog slowly dissolve to a slick mist and then to random pockets tucked into the hills. We tried our best and succeeded for the most part not to leave the lodge except for long walks with our “toodle” Bo, sometimes despite the rain which was ever so gentle. The kitchen is so well equipped that each year I really look forward to assembling meals around a huge pot of “stoup” (stew/soup) that lasts for days and feeds us while we work jigsaw puzzles, read and have our local friends come by. The hot tub and pool table ensure there is plenty for everyone to do. Having lived in Guerneville many years ago, I am never sure which season I miss the most on the river. One thing for sure, as long as I can come home to Riverside Lodge for the holidays, I won’t miss winter in the redwoods. Riverside Lodge owners have created a truly special home away from home and the great folks as the Russian River Vacation Homes are always so helpful and professional.
