We spent two fantastic weeks at Leo and Janet's cottage and spent many hours relaxing on the deck, reading down by the water, fishing off the dock or jumping in the lake to cool off. Kayaking in the lake was fantastic even with the many boats and jetskis. We used the cottage as a base and spent several days biking the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, the Centennial Trail and the Hiawatha Trail - all different yet spectacular rides. The cottage is air conditioned - a real plus during the hot afternoons (and our dog really appreciated it!). It has all the conveniences you could ask for has including a dishwasher, laundry and coffee maker. The deck has great views of the water but is very private from the surrounding cottages. The sunsets are beautiful, the weather fantastic (was for us anyway!) - this is a true private paradise.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: You and your guests left the cottage as nice as it has ever been left. The cleaning lady didn't want to charge anything as she said it was all done. Thank You and Please come back again. Leo & Janet

We stayed here for one week with our three children and the grandparents. The views and the location were perfect! The house was very nice with plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen had all the things we needed for making meals. The barbeque and fire pit were such a nice addition. Leo and Janet certainly made everything perfect for us by making sure we had all we needed, having the house in really good order before we arrived and even offered kayaks for us to rent (which my husband and son loved!). They also were available to answer any questions for us which was a great help. We did not want to leave! When we travel back to the US we will absolutely try to stay in this house again! Thank you very much Leo and Janet for letting us use your beautiful home and making our stay so lovely!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Amazing, Beautiful, Breath Taking... I could really go on and on! We were blown away by the breathtaking view!!! Janet and Leo made our holiday so easy and no stress at all. Their 'Little Piece of Heaven' really is just that! We went with little children; a 5 month old, 2 year old twins, a 3 year old and a 6 year old and it was perfect! So much for them to do and the walk down to the lake made it a fun adventure for them. We plan on going back again and again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the pleasure that I get with people that enjoy my cottage like I do.

Our stay was excellent. Weather was kind of cold, but there were plenty of wetsuits for kids and adults to still be able to enjoy the paddle board, and kayacks we rented. The view was spectacular. Plenty of room for the eight of us. Improved my cardio by ten fold going up and down those 50 plus steps to dock and car.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks Tim! We appreciate your responce. Please come back soon. Leo & Janet

Our time spent at this property was a highlight for us. You could not ask for a better set up for a deck area. It has so many pluses, the main one being a perfect spot to watch a sunset, and believe us when we say there were many in the 2 weeks we spent here. Plus, too, the willow tree down by the dock area is a beautiful spot to sit and relax. You're only minutes away from Tony's at the Lake or the Coeur d'Alene Resort by boat. All in all, we would have to say that this is a little piece of heaven away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers.

I got a lot of pleasure from your responce of the beatiful view and privacy when you arrived. It is always a pleasure to welcome people who appreciate my cottage as it gives me a good feeling. We had a wonderful family vacation at the Green's cottage. The rock garden as you come down the hill is beautiful and and attracts many humming birds. The views are even more beautiful than the photos and we saw many eagles and deer. Everything we needed was there! We just brought our clothes and food. We also rented the studio unit and this provided extra space for our large family. We have stayed at many fantastic, 5 star resorts and this property is right up there - not much to ask for. It is clean and well maintained, beatuiful bedding, beach towels, kirchen supplies, patio sets, flower pots, etc. We received great information about some of the nearby activities and good resturants along the lake. It was so convenient to be able to rent kayaks right there, we really had fun checking out the bay. Not many ski boats come in even though there is a gas dock at the private marina. So water is pretty smooth and with the hot weather arriving the lake is quickly warming up for swimming. We enjoyed camp fires on the beach and also made smores at the fire pit right by the cabin. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake cottage with us. Our family has many great memories to take home with us. We will definitely come back. We will tell friends about your beautiful cottage but only after we have reserved our vacation. It was also great to have such a quick return on our deposit- it's like we got paid for a fabulous vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your glowing discription of the closest that I get to heaven on earth. I get great pleasure from most of the people that rent the cottage particularly when they enjoy it as much as your family. I will accomodate your families needs in the future as well as possible and look forward to your return visits. If it werent for people like you I would not be able to afford this luxury. I will say with ernest I never take it for granted and pinch myself constantly to make sure it is real when I relax at the cottage. Best wishes and thanks again for your kind words. Leo& Janet

My family and I have been blessed & lucky to spend several summer vacations at a this fantastic lake cottage. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever been - Mexico, Hawaii and the Carribean can't top this. Ospreys, hummingbirds, swallows, deer, beaver - you name it, it's there. Everywhere you look there are gorgeous views from the deck and cottage. The bay is great for swimming, boating, jet skiing and the dock and beach offer fantastic tanning areas. The addition of the daylight unit really makes the cottage a great multi-family rental with plenty of space and privacy for adults and kids alike. Everything we needed was there, and it was nice and clean. We just bring our suits and food. Please save me my favorite week, Leo!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

It's been two years since we've been able to come back up to Couer D' Alene for a week and I am sure glad we got this wonderful cottage! We were abe to get 7 people and two dogs in the top half of the cottage and everyone was comfortable. I love the location of the lake. It's close to town and is a great area to go wakeboarding in the morning. The cottage is also a short drive to silverwood which we had a great time there. When we got to the cottage the Greene's were very hospitable. Thank you for such a great place to stay for the week.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: My wife cleaned after you left and was so impressed she sent your deposit back that day. We can only say thank you for leaving the cottage as if it were your own. Please come back anytime. Best Regards, Leo & Janet

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1952
About the owner: Hello from Leo, Janet and our dog Moose. We are empty nesters and have hosted WHL Junior League Hockey players from Canada and Czech Republic for the last 10 years with much enthusiasm. We enjoy going to the games and having a personal interest in the teams success. I am a real estate appraiser and specialize in water front properties due to my passion for our lake cottage in Coeur d'Alene and the beauty of being around lakes and outdoors. My wife is a manager of Homestead Birkenstock Store in Northtown Mall in Spokane were we live. We enjoy going to the cottage in the summer and sharing it gives us joy along with helping with the cost. We have had many years of plesant memories on the lake and hope that if you come stay you will have similar fun times as we have with our family. Come prepared to relax in a private getaway with a serene beauty that calms the soul. Best Regards The Green Family
Why the Owner Chose Coeur d'Alene:
My parents purchased the lake front lot in 1952, the year I was born. I have been privileged to grow up in this wonderful environment in the summers. I have continually updated the cottage through the years to keep it modern. My aunts and uncles also purchased property near and I was fortunate to get to know many of my cousins as we played together in the summers.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We love to swim, hike, boat, water ski, jet ski, but mostly just relaxing with a cool beverage and enjoying the environment. Family always is a wonderful ingredient for the best memories.
