We stayed here for one week with our three children and the grandparents. The views and the location were perfect! The house was very nice with plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen had all the things we needed for making meals. The barbeque and fire pit were such a nice addition. Leo and Janet certainly made everything perfect for us by making sure we had all we needed, having the house in really good order before we arrived and even offered kayaks for us to rent (which my husband and son loved!). They also were available to answer any questions for us which was a great help. We did not want to leave! When we travel back to the US we will absolutely try to stay in this house again! Thank you very much Leo and Janet for letting us use your beautiful home and making our stay so lovely!

Vacation - July 18th - 29th, 2011

Our time spent at this property was a highlight for us. You could not ask for a better set up for a deck area. It has so many pluses, the main one being a perfect spot to watch a sunset, and believe us when we say there were many in the 2 weeks we spent here. Plus, too, the willow tree down by the dock area is a beautiful spot to sit and relax. You're only minutes away from Tony's at the Lake or the Coeur d'Alene Resort by boat. All in all, we would have to say that this is a little piece of heaven away from home.

The Most Relaxing Holiday Ever!

Amazing, Beautiful, Breath Taking... I could really go on and on! We were blown away by the breathtaking view!!! Janet and Leo made our holiday so easy and no stress at all. Their 'Little Piece of Heaven' really is just that! We went with little children; a 5 month old, 2 year old twins, a 3 year old and a 6 year old and it was perfect! So much for them to do and the walk down to the lake made it a fun adventure for them. We plan on going back again and again!

fantastic relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation at the Green's cottage. The rock garden as you come down the hill is beautiful and and attracts many humming birds. The views are even more beautiful than the photos and we saw many eagles and deer. Everything we needed was there! We just brought our clothes and food. We also rented the studio unit and this provided extra space for our large family. We have stayed at many fantastic, 5 star resorts and this property is right up there - not much to ask for. It is clean and well maintained, beatuiful bedding, beach towels, kirchen supplies, patio sets, flower pots, etc. We received great information about some of the nearby activities and good resturants along the lake. It was so convenient to be able to rent kayaks right there, we really had fun checking out the bay. Not many ski boats come in even though there is a gas dock at the private marina. So water is pretty smooth and with the hot weather arriving the lake is quickly warming up for swimming. We enjoyed camp fires on the beach and also made smores at the fire pit right by the cabin. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake cottage with us. Our family has many great memories to take home with us. We will definitely come back. We will tell friends about your beautiful cottage but only after we have reserved our vacation. It was also great to have such a quick return on our deposit- it's like we got paid for a fabulous vacation.

Ironman 2011

Our stay was excellent. Weather was kind of cold, but there were plenty of wetsuits for kids and adults to still be able to enjoy the paddle board, and kayacks we rented. The view was spectacular. Plenty of room for the eight of us. Improved my cardio by ten fold going up and down those 50 plus steps to dock and car.

Me and my friends rented the cottage for a weekend and we had the best time ever. This was our first time in Coeur d'Alene and it was a great experience and for sure we will go back!!!

Couer D' Alene Vacation

It's been two years since we've been able to come back up to Couer D' Alene for a week and I am sure glad we got this wonderful cottage! We were abe to get 7 people and two dogs in the top half of the cottage and everyone was comfortable. I love the location of the lake. It's close to town and is a great area to go wakeboarding in the morning. The cottage is also a short drive to silverwood which we had a great time there. When we got to the cottage the Greene's were very hospitable. Thank you for such a great place to stay for the week.

Summer Fun

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week on the lake. The 3 year old kept us all busy and the 6 month old enjoyed the air conditioning when it got too hot. Spent most of our time at the cabin or the water and enjoyed a nice week. The water was incredible. Very nice to swim in. Took the Pirate Cruise in town with the 3 year old and she loved it. We also went to Harrison one day and really enjoyed that little town. If you go there have a bike to use the wonderful bike trail. The humming birds at the cabin were definately entertaining.

My family and I have been blessed & lucky to spend several summer vacations at a this fantastic lake cottage. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever been - Mexico, Hawaii and the Carribean can't top this. Ospreys, hummingbirds, swallows, deer, beaver - you name it, it's there. Everywhere you look there are gorgeous views from the deck and cottage. The bay is great for swimming, boating, jet skiing and the dock and beach offer fantastic tanning areas. The addition of the daylight unit really makes the cottage a great multi-family rental with plenty of space and privacy for adults and kids alike. Everything we needed was there, and it was nice and clean. We just bring our suits and food. Please save me my favorite week, Leo!!!

May Stay On the Lake

My cousin, our wives and I just spent 10 delightful days in this lakefront cottage. The stay was most enjoyable. The cabin is totally furnished right down to the helpful binoculars. We especially enjoyed the hummingbirds on the deck. We docked our boat at the property and enjoyed our time spent on the water. The owners are delightful and most helpful. As with most properties on Coeur d'Alene, there is a pretty good climb to the cabin from the road and from the cabin to the lake. We left the better for the exercise but wouldn't recommend it for the handicapped or infirm. If you are interested in spending time in this area, this is definitely the place.

Despite the rain, all of us (two families including two teenagers, a 5 year old, a baby and two dogs) had an enjoyable time at Leo and Janet's very comfortable, roomy and well equipped cottage. Between the downpours, we enjoyed the beautiful views at dinner on their large impressive deck and their great private dock and small beach area (the five year old loved the pebbles). We took some peaceful walks in the area and were thankful that Leo and Janet have such a big comfy couch because we watched a lot of satellite TV as the rain came down.

My husband participated in the local iron man in June and we were able to stay in the Green's lakeside cabin. It was very comfortable and able to hold four adults and five children quite easily. The deck has a beautiful view and we enjoyed the use of the dock and rowboat. We would rent the property again if we returned to that area. Mr. Green was extremely hospitable making us feel right at home.

Our stay at Leo's cabin was one of the best vacations we have had. The cabin was cozy, the views awesome, and the hospitality of the Green's is not something you come across every day. The weather turned bad on us (not Leo's fault) so we stayed in the cabin more than out on the lake, but even then, we had a great time. Very peacefull and relaxing. Thank you Leo and Janet, we will be coming back.

Leo & his wife happened to be at cabin when we arrived. He was VERY welcoming offering beverages to everyone. He totally respected our privavy and asked permission before coming over. This bay is perfect, 2 minute boat ride from Eddie's restaurant, gas for boat (& ice cream) across the bay, close to town of CDA (by boat), lovely views and a moose who dined in the far shallow end of the bay. Sleeping accommodations are basic but fill the need. Dock is big & has jet ski dock as well. Stairs to dock/beach are not for the old or weary. Go, you'll have a BLAST!

We had high water flooding this spring until mid June that washed out our steps and we did not do a very good job of repair. We will have a better approach next year. Our families of 5 and 4 had a wonderful vacation in this piece of Paradise. The beach house was inviting and comfortable for 2 families. Views of the sunsets from the deck were glorious and the location on the lake is optimal: private yet easy access to most amenities. i would love to rave about Leo's Great Gewaway, but if I do, I am afraid I won't be able to book for next year. It is everything the other guests have said and more. Leo's place deliversa true vacationers wish list. Peaceful surroundings, ample room , privacy, water fun, nature, and making memories with friends and family. We especially loved the beach area, our dog had a blast. What a treat to know Leo and his family have history on the lake and ties to the local community. Thanks you for the great vacation.

We had a wonderful stay. The house easily accommodated three families and a dog. The deck and family room were great spaces to be together, and the owners were very accommodating. We would definitely consider returning again.

Our family has been vacationing in Sun River, Cancun and the Turk and Caicos Islands...Couer d'Alene is by far our favorite spot. The cabin's location and views are spectacular!!! The dock is a great placce to get some sun, cast a line or just sit back and relax. I can not begin to express my thanks for creating such a great "getaway" for me and my family!

This was one of our best family vacations yet! We spent a week in Leo's house on the lake. We loved having our very own private boat dock! This provided hours of swimming, fishing and floating entertainment for the whole family. The house sits in Squaw Bay and is right across the water from the local gas station. We were within 10 minutes by boat from Couer d'Alene public boat launch (which has free parking for boats and cars, enabling you to stop and shop/eat downtown), Carlin Bay Resort, Black Rock Marina and the town of Harrison (about 20 minutes away), all of which had fun drive-up restaurants by boat. We grilled and ate our dinner every night on the deck. Leo's house had every amenity necessary for a comfortable week-long vacation. We will be back next year!

My family has just spent a lovely and restful vacation week in Coeur D'Alene. We attribute much of our good luck to finding this lovely lake front cottage. Mr.Leo Green is very accomodating and goes to great length to make sure that every need is met. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and spacious. The area is accessible, scenic and full of a great many things to do. We came a long way for our vacation and were blessed to have one of the best times of our life.

One of the most beautiful and restful vacation spots I have ever enjoyed. The views of the lake are gorgeous; both from the house and the large deck. Eagles perch in the trees and humming birds visit frequently. The cool, clear water is great for swimming and water skiing. Great resturants and golf near by. This is a piece of heaven on earth.

I have been going to this spot on Coeur d'Alene Lake since I was a boy and it will never cease to amaze me that there are things of beauty that I have not yet witnessed and many that have recently come to my attention. The most stark realization is what a beautiful world this is.
