Are you tired of vacationing in high rise condos, waiting for elevators every time you want to come and go, much less lugging in baggage and groceries? You are going to love our cottage in the Fairways of Sandestin with many extras since this unit served as a permanent residence for a few years. The Resort at Sandestin is a 2400 acre gated resort community with full time maintenance & 24 hour security.

Located within the resort you will find four golf courses, swimming pools, marina, bike and walking paths, and Sandestin’s newest hot spot the Village at Baytown Wharf. Here you will find fine restaurants, nightlife, and retail boutiques. Sandestin is boasted by Southern Living as the premier vacation destination on the Emerald Coast of Florida’s panhandle.

Whether its beaches, golf, shopping, or fine dining and nightlife you’re looking for, you’ll find it all within the confines of Sandestin. Also, located just moments from the front gate you find one of the largest outlet malls in the Southeastern United States.

After a great day of soaking up the sun, playing in the surf, and walking the white sandy beaches at Sandestin, you will look forward to returning to your cottage nestled among the tall pines, lush fairways, and sitting on one of Sandestin’s many fresh water lakes. Settle in for a little down time, a refreshing drink and a good book on the screened in porch; or drift off for a little while under the tall pines on the 2nd story sundeck while listening to the relaxing sound of the nearby water fountain. Still full of energy – spend a little time down on the lakeside dock casting for fish in our catch & release fresh water lake. Feel like a walk or bike ride or dip in the pool – they are all just moments away from your front door. You’ll find your cottage intimate, inviting, with all the comforts of home.

The second floor master retreat has a king size bed, TV, ceiling fan, private bath, three large closets, and a large sun deck that overlooks the lake below. A second first floor master also features a king size bed and private bath
The third bedroom features twin extra long beds, and is located across the hall from the third full bath. The cottage has been recently remodeled with tile floors and updated kitchen and baths. You will find a fully equipped kitchen and gas grill if you would like to treat the family to a BBQ on the deck, or just across the bay, yet still within the confines of the resort, you can enjoy an evening out at the Village of Baytown Wharf.

Looking to experience the perfect ending to a wonderful day, catch a sunset like the one you see here by taking an evening stroll up to The Inn at Sandestin and watch the sunset over the Choctawhatchee Bay.

  • Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: There is a gas grill available on the deck. Should gas be needed exchange tanks available at Walmart.
  • Deck/Patio: There is a full deck surrounding the cottage equipped with patio table and chairs. There is a second deck at lake level with chairs and bench seating for relaxing at the water's edge by the water fountain.
  • Balcony: There is a private balcony just off the Master bedroom with two lounge chairs. From here you can sun and relax while listening to the dual water fountains in the lake below.

  • Lakefront: After a day at the beach we return to our cottage which sits on a beautiful lake that has two lighted water fountain that are a delight to relax by both day and night. There are ducks and turtles to entertain both young and old as well as fish to catch (and release) in the lake just out your back door. There is plenty of seating for the entire family to enjoy the waterfront.
  • Water View: Our property is located very close to the bay and we enjoy both morning and evening walks where we have enjoyed beautiful sunsets like the one we took and have featured on our site only a short walk from our front door.
  • Golf Course View: The "Fairways" is entirely surrounded a the Links Golf Course, one of the four located in the Sandestin Resort. The golfshop is located close enough that you could walk there.

  • We stayed at Coconut Cottage the week of Thanksgiving 2008. It was so nice to have your own beautiful outdoor space with the yard, decks and pond with the fountains. Everything was convenient without feeling like you were in a tourist destination. Golf, shopping restaurants all nearby and the kids could walk or ride their bikes all around the resort. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving meal and more. It was like a home away from home! The owners were so sweet and easy to deal with. I will definitely go back!

  • Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us. We enjoyed the spacious rooms, the decks and the screened in patio area. Every morning we took long walks around the property. The sunset over the bay was spectacular we would take a bottle of wine and a blanket to the end of the block and watch it set every night. Thanks for the dining advice, we found the best meal was going to Skippers and having them steam us seasoned shrimp and taking it back to eat on the screened in porch it was very relaxing. Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation experience. Next time we travel to Destin we hope you are still available. Mike and Lisa

  • Don and I very much enjoyed our stay at your relaxing cottage. we loved the screened back porch as well as fishing every evening on the dock right outside the back deck!! We were very comfortaable in your cottage adn liked the bright colors you have decorated it with. We could have stayed forever..... We plan to come again next year.   • We loved our stay at Coconut Cottage...our best yet at Sandestin! The home is beautifully and colorfully decorated and very welcoming. We really enjoyed the screened in porch, the multiple decks and the dock. With three small children the expanded living space was perfect! Even when the adults were ready to rest and relax, there was plenty for the kids to do. They enjoyed feeding the ducks and turtles and fishing off the dock. My daughter caught a large mouth bass on the first cast! We also appreciated the privacy of each of the bedrooms. We could put the kids to bed and not worry about disturbing them. We were glad we decided not to pay extra for other properties that included the Sandestin amenity package. We were able to do everything we wanted at Sandestin without it. The Coconut Cottage owners were very nice to work with. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Sandestin area.

  • Dear Monica. We all loved our stay at Cocunut Cottage this past March. We all admired the bright decor and esp. the signed pictures! Your choice of colours is a knockout. The deck and dock were wonderful esp. since the men had some luck in catching the clever fish.There were lots of ducks who loved to get into mating fights early in the morning, and the great blue heron came to visit every day. One evening we had friends over for a BBQ and there was lots of room for 8 of us down on the dock, lovely with both fountains going. The area was great for walking and golfing and the Destin Outlet Mall is one of the best we've seen! One day, looking out the kitchen window we saw a cardinal and a blue jay and loved the sounds and sights of the mocking birds chasing each other in a mad mating dance, just like the ducks. It must surely be spring! Perhaps the best overall thing was the spaciousness of the cottage, esp. the upstairs suite, so everyone could have lots of privacy.   • Most wonderful vacation cottage we have EVER seen! Beautiful artwork, very well appointed. Nice neighbors! Very relaxing. The children fished every afternoon and fed the ducks more bread than we ate! Sweet people to deal with - not a care in the world! Takes your breath away - feels more like you are in a tropical place with the way the cottage is decorated and the setting. Just fabulous. Would recommend to anyone if you want a phenomenal vacation!
