Gorgeous Home with Breathtaking Views

We stayed at te Jemez Springs Retreat for almost a week in March and enjoyed every minute. A family of 5 (ours includes three children - ages 18, 15, and 10) can stay in the home very comfortably. There is plenty to do on the property. We hiked for miles, had bonfires at night, and just enjoyed the peaceful serenity of being atop a mountain with amazing canyon views. The managers of the property greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour with pertinent information about the house. They were very friendly and made sure we knew that they were but a phone call away. They also emailed directions to the home and places to purchase groceries well in advance of our visit. We enjoyed cooking at the house (it has everything you would need to cook, bake, serve & dine, including spices and condiments) and enjoyed chile burgers at Los Ojos (a great local Western bar turned eatery). There isn't much grocery shopping in Jemez Springs (just a small convenience store type place), so best to stock up while in larger towns (all of this will be explained in detail by the managers). Overall, a great experience!

"We stayed for two weeks during the Christmas and New Year's time. The Retreat was wonderful, clean with lots of amenities. The Owners and Caretakers welcomed us graciously and were extremely helpful! The caretakers even took time out at Christmas to take us to the ceremonial event at Jemez Pueblo. The Retreat had breathtaking views from every room. We spent most of our time enjoying the retreat, hiking out the back and having outdoors fires at night to watch the colorful sunsets and the star laden sky at night. We also got the great pleasure of seeing the eclipse of the moon up close and personal. Sunrises were equally mind blowing. We did venture out and found there was an abundance of hiking and fly fishing places all along the highway. The highway held lots of interest with the Tunnels, Soda Dam, the Battleship plus the Valles Caldera National Preserve are only a few things nearby. We look forward to returning and staying again at the Jemez Springs Retreat.. "

Many thanks to Steve and Susan, owners of the property, and Doc and Susan, managers. My husband and I were treated with great kindness and attention to our needs beyond our expectations. The property is magnificent, the views breathtaking with the changing light, both inside and outside. It is a peaceful retreat, obviously treasured by the owners. We loved being there and wished we could have stayed longer. Doc and Susan were fun and helpful, suggesting things to see and do. They made us feel completely at home and cared for. The house was a joy to behold, spotless, perfectly maintained and supplied with every amenity for a comfortable stay. We would enthusiastically recommend this property to anyone!

It is rare these days that you actually get more than you bargained for. To be honest our English isn’t proficient enough to describe our experience. (FYI English is our native tongue and we have been speaking it for nearly half a century.) Spectacular, beautiful, magnificent, charming, serene those words still can’t fully describe it. The house is warm and comfortable. All those little amenities which make a house a home are there. We were there in the cold of winter but the heat from the heated floors and roaring fire radiate comforting warmth throughout the entire home. Although they try, the photos do not do the décor and architecture justice as you really need to “feel” this house. And the property… 12 acres, but since there are no boundary fences it feels like 1,200 acres, you can wander all day through the stunning 6,000 ft New Mexico red-rock landscape. The house is quiet and off the beaten trail, but is really not too far from major geological and historic sites, not to mention native American reservations and of course, Santa Fe. A great place to get away from it all and spend quality time with family or friends! Finally, the owners and the care takers deserve mention as they are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Their knowledge of the area and willingness to assist will make you feel like this vacation home comes with its own concierge service.

This location is fabulous. There was not one thing we wished for that wasn't there. The owners are wonderful, the caretakers very attentive. The views are long range and peaceful. The quiet is astounding. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for relaxing, renewing and being in a perfect house in a perfect setting. We hope to return some day.

My family and I stayed here for about a week and absolutely loved this place! Its location, layout and the overall feel were just divine. The meditation room is amazing, but my favorite was the front livingroom with the fountain. Definitely a wonderful getaway! The hot springs are not far away for those who are able to drag themselves out of this gorgeous home.
