Why the Owner Chose Zihuatanejo
When we visited Zihua for the first time in 2002, it was love at first site! Our plan had been to spend a month traveling up the coast from Zihua to Puerto Vallarta looking for a place to build our retirement home. We had a long list of requirements; friendly people, a spectacular ocean view, and a town with a relaxing vibe that still had restaurants and other attractions. It turned out that Zihua was our first and last stop.
But back then, finding a real estate agent proved to be one of the trickiest parts. But we diligently hunted around until we found someone who finally agreed, after considerably prodding, to take us out for a day of exploring. Our first stop was La Casa Que Ve Al Mar. Bye buy travel plans! It was out last stop as well! We knew immediately that we'd never find anything we liked better, no matter where else we looked. So, instead of hitting the road, we spent the rest of our vacation month putting a deal together, talking to contractors in our bad Spanish, and doing endless paperwork. We have never regretted it.
Because we were early buyers in La Casa Que Ve Al Mar, we were able to buy one of the most desirable condos in all of Zihuanejo. We choose an exceptional 7th floor location where the views are amazingly expansive -- we can see up and down the beach in both directions because there are no buildings obscuring our view. We also see the hills, the picture-perfect bay, the ocean beyond the bay, and the blue blue sky. We can watch the waves roll in! The thought of gently rocking in our in hammocks sipping Margaritas on the 500 foot terraza while watching the amazing sunsets was simply irresistable!
I forgot to mention that we bought a completely unfinished space but I'll spare you the construction details. Let's just say that we learned the hard way that manaña means many things including "not now,"never," and "any time but soon." But everything comes to an end eventually, even construction work.
The Unique Benefits at this Luxury Condominium
We loved the 3 years we spent living in Casa d'Arte! But then, unexpectedly, and more or less accidentally, we moved to India in 2006 -- another story! So now we stay here for 2 or 3 months in the summer and we're still loving it as much as we ever did.
We spend most of our time on the terraza. Casa d'Arte has one of only 4 large covered terazzas in the complex -- that's one reason we bought it. We furnished it for elegant outdoor living complete with dining table and chairs, hammocks, lounge chairs, tropical plants, a bbq grill, and an "art station" desk. At almost 2000 square feet, Casa d'Arte is one of the most spacious condos in the Casa Que Ve Al Mar complex. We take full advantage of our glorious pools too -- I swim several times a week.
Because we built Casa'd'Arte as a personal residence, there are many exceptional touches. My husband made a beautiful indoor fountain out of river rocks in the dining room as well as two crocodiles in the hand laid pullido floors. I designed the wave in the Wave bedrooms. My husband created a unique Jungle Room filled with treasures from his early morning jungle expeditions. I made paintings and shopped for handmade crafts and fabrics. We both have strong urges to create beauty. But when we're not here, we enjoy sharing our home with others who will appreciate it as much as we do. Casa d'Arte is totally unique because it was created out of love and designed to inspire. We understand that even the tiniest details are important to making our condo as beautiful as the natural magnificence viewed right from our terraza and almost every room.
Everyday, we feel we are fortunate to be here. We think you will too.
Owner's Map of Zihuatanejo
Cindy Lowe has been writing and playing music for most of her life. Her inspired lyrics, evocative melodies, passionate vocals, and distinctive guitar playing combine to conjure up a rich and heady brew seasoned with Folk, Rock, Country, Classical, World Music and Other-Worldy ingredients. Musicians from the far-flung corners of the universe add unique flavors and contemporary spice to create a sublime musical journey.
In the 70's, Cindy left her career as a classical guitarist to perform her own magical brand of gypsy/cowgirl/folk/rock and since then has traveled the world and performed on 4 continents. Her music has attracted critical acclaim and a loyal cross-cultural following; several of her songs have been recorded by other artists, others have been used in films.
In a previous existence, Cindy was a popular guitar, voice, and song-writing teacher in the East Bay area of California until she and her husband Jeff moved to Mexico in 2003. They later began splitting their time between Mexico and India, where they now live most of the year. At Meherabad, Cindy gives concerts, teaches music workshops, and leads informal singing groups. She recently completed her 6th album in Chennai (Madras) with an amazing lineup of Indian musicians.
