Our stay at the Sunset Palace was a great choice, what better way to see how truly beautiful the people and island are. It was a great experience for us to live in a community with the locals (Uluwatu is a great place to live), and much better then a hotel/resort venue. Much more peaceful, private, and calming, but your not to far from having great food and partying with fellow travellers and locals. January, not the best time for surf, but my husband had a few days of fun. All the accomodations were comfortable and good, the host family were awesome and such warm and caring people (friends). They made our travel plans run so smooth and effortless (and we went to alot of places), they kept our home neat and clean, and they kept our best interest first (we felt very secure). We thank Jesse and Mariko for sharing their home and Bali experiences with us. We felt it was our home too. I will miss Bali, until my return trip and that is a definite (hopefully Sunset Palace is availiable). Terima Kasih, Andy & Karie Lasko (Sandy & Gayle too)

"Fantastic Uluwatu Vacation Home" We were up for an adventure and knew we wanted to stay on Uluwatu. So we took a chance and stayed here. It was the best deal we could find. The only thing I was worried about was that it would be nice enough for my wife. It was far better than we both expected, plus it's off the beat and path away from all the tourist locations and crowds situated close to the best breaks in Uluwatu. We can't wait to go back!

"Great Surf Nearby" Stayed with my son for a week, surf was excellent, nice home, easy transportation to and from the airport. Service provided helped us get to Ubud and around town.

"The most amazing place I have ever stayed." Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted at the airport by our knowledgeable and very friendly driver. We were taken to our "new home", and I have to say, the photos online do not do it justice. It was everything we could have ever wanted. Our housekeeper became my friend by the end of the trip and I looked forward to her arrival to chat with her while she cleaned. I cannot say enough positive things about the rental, the island, and especially the people who made this such an amazing experience. I cannot wait to stay here again!

Once again we have had a wonderful time in Bali made so special by the great house and wonderful family that looked after us. We stayed here last year and absolutely loved the place, it was really nice to see that Jesse looks to keep improving the facilities... we liked the aC! All arrangements via e-mail were super smooth and very professional. We are a young active family and this location suited us down to the ground. It was great for me to go running (3K's to Padang) and my husband to go surfing. Our little boy just loved everything about it. When thinking about booking accommodation in Bali it is worth considering the following- a safe and secure place (especially with kids) - a good local family- good facilities (for us essential fridge, cooking and washing machine. somewhere quiet, space for children), Jesse's place hits all of these with a real feel good factor to boot. Thank you everyone!

I just stayed at this bungalow for a few nights with friends. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. I always expected Indonesia to be a green, restful country where I could really get back in touch with nature (living downtown Toronto and all!). Sunset, and the people in the neighborhood, represented all of this and more. The accommodation itself was extremely clean and so charming! We had everything we needed there! The family next door was very friendly and welcoming and I was even able to arrange transportation back to the airport through them (thanks Made!). It was a nice walk to an incredible temple, which we all loved and a great beach as well. Further, the food stands in Uluwatu were to die for, so all in all, Sunset provided the setting for the most perfect vacation! I am definitely coming back to stay here with my fiancée, who I've told all about this place... possibly for our honeymoon!

Good value

I stayed here in 2008 during the Rip Curl Search. This house is a good value. You still need a car or scooter for getting to Ulu's but it is only a couple if minutes away.It is in a good neighborhood where all the local legends of Ulu's live. In a time when Bali is being commercialized with 4 star resorts, this is a great value near the good surf. They keep this house very clean. I would stay here again.
