Don't let the pictures fool you - this rental is really terrible. Dark, musty, smelled like mildew, was not clean. Paint peeling off the window sills outside, no updates of any kind, carpet was not clean and felt wet when stepped on. Furniture is old and outdated. TV didn't work, Wi-Fi didn't work, no DVD player, gas tank on grill had no gauge so didn't want to start cooking and run out of gas. Great location, nice lot - but the house is horrible.Owner response: I am always available and willing to assist my guests. We have left the phone numbers available to our guests so that they can call direct tv and Frontier communciation if anything should be out of service. I have a wonderful cleaning lady, and she does a super job of getting the house ready for the next guest. We are constantly working to update our home. This is a rain-forest area and we have many tree's on the lot. Also, when the house is closed up for long periods of time with the rain, any house could smell musty. I can assure you we keep it very clean! The house was built in 1968 and it is not new construction. But, it is very cozy and comfortable. Great location, close to the recreation center and the town of Cashiers. It is easy to drive in and out of unlike other homes with steep mountain roads. The prices we charge are very affordable for this home and this beautiful area.

We had a very relaxing two weeks in the "Little Mushroom". As is typical of the "mountain rainforest" there would be downpours almost daily..but then the sun would come out and we could take the refreshing walks on the golf course. Enjoyed getting to meet the neighbors--but relished time on the comfortable screened porch. The area is rich with culture, shopping, and some of the best restaurants around. It was great!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

This charming home was cool and comfortable. The area was gorgeous and so pleasant to walk my dog along the quiet lanes of this golf community. The huge screened porch was my favorite place. Facing a fairway nestled in the pines, I could watch the golfers come in, make their putts and disappear quietly in the carts. If you don't want to perch on a cliff and drive steep inclines but still enjoy the mountains, this is a nice choice. It was close to the amenities too. AAAHHH. So relaxing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
