If there were 6 stars, we would give it. We visited this lovely condo for our first vacation in 6 years. We enjoyed the lovely view and especially the Jacuzzi tub. Also nearby were excellent snowshoeing trails and of course Lutsen Ski Resort. The owners have thought of everything, and everything is high quality. We WILL be back!

Wonderful location! Spectacular view! This lovely home has two decks, and a patio overlooking the cliffs, and shore of Lake Superior. We have stayed at the Storlies' condo on the North Shore of Lake Superior five times now, and we are looking forward to another visit this autumn. The home is large enough for the family (three adult couples) to have our own space, and yet we can gather together in the kitchen/great room, or game room/family room. It is roomy, and yet has a cozy feel. For visitors who love to cook, the kitchen is very well equipped with large and small appliances, utensils, and dishes. The home is very clean, and well maintained. Rick, his assistant Liz, and the staff in Lutsen are friendly, and make sure the stay is pleasant.

My husband and I came up Wednesday night to begin our stay at Lutsen with the rest of the family joining us Thursday afternoon. We woke to a beautiful sunrise Thursday morning and weather warm enough to have our coffee out on the deck overlooking the lake. A quick trip to Grand Marais then back to the house to wait for my daughter, her husband and their two children and my son and his girlfriend. An all day poker party Friday due to the rain but everyone hit the slopes on Saturday and had a great time. Dinner Saturday night at the Pub at Lutsen Resort-excellent and very child friendly. We were sad to leave Sunday, especially since the snow finally arrived but hope to be back again!

What a wonderfully relaxing location for a reunion with old friends! We could not have been more comfortable! Ideal location! The condo was even better than we expected. It was clean and ready for us. I would recommend this property very highly! It is close to interesting restaurants and shopping and wonderful hiking trails. My wife and I looked forward to staying at 6528 Aspenwood since January, 2012....8 months of anticipation. Since we had stayed there before, we knew exactly what to expect. We had stayed at Aspenwood 2 years ago and have looked forward to returning. We are already planning our next trip with 3 other couples.....just right for a get together with old friends.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at this great condo. The condo was clean and had all the kitchen utilities we needed for all the cooks in our group. There was plenty of room for 8 women especially the use of 4 bathrooms when getting ready in the morning. And, this condo is only 3 miles from Superior National Golf Course where we golfed each day. The owner neighbors were nice and friendly and didn’t complain about 8 women cackling and laughing into the evening. I would recommend Storlie’s condo to anyone looking for a great place to relax on the shore of wonderful Lake Superior. The view is spectacular! This condo lived up to all the pictures and features appearing on the VRBO website. Thank you Storlie's for sharing your vacation home.

My family and I had a wonderful time in lutzen and enjoyed this beauitful home. My mother and father in law from South Carolina joined us and had a great time. We had all the rooms opened for us and the kids came and went as they wanted. It was great for the kids to be able to spend time with grandparents. The home was very nice and had all the comforts of our own home right to the coffee filters for the coffee maker. The views of the lake were amazing and we loved to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The neighbors were very nice and I enjoyed watching her work on that hill side cleaning up the bushes!. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to spend a relaxing week with family or friends. The only negative thing was on the first day, our code to get into the property was wrong. We call the local contact and in 15 or 20 minutes he showed up and let us in. Thanks Rick for letting us use your home to create some wonderful memories Scott & Libby

Everything was awesome. We got to enjoy all 4 bedrooms and baths. All was exactly as described. Photos look like the ones I took. Very clean and well-maintained. Had an issue with a bathroom that locked itself (??), but Rick returned our call with instructions with how to get the door open. We've already told all of our relatives about the property and are planning to return sometime soon. We were able to get pictures of the eagle out back. Moon rise over the water was just as spectacular as the sun rise. Temperatures were perfect - upper 50's, but we left the windows open all 3 days. Only bad thing was that we didn't win the Powerball and had to come home to 90 degree temperatures. If you want to relax with all the amenities of home and then some, this is the place to stay. Thanks, Rick.

Spent 3 nights here on a sister's weekend (5 of us between ages 30-60) and all of us were overjoyed with this townhome. So clean, neat, comfortable, relaxing, user-friendly, easy to find, pure enjoyment of nature out the back door. Everything was in working order, entry directions from owner were very thorough and easy to follow, and little things pleasantly surprised us that we hadn't found in other units rented around the country (i.e., three types of coffee beans, filters, and even creamer!), lots of movies, books, games, and music CDs there to enjoy if you have the time. A bald eagle gave us lots of pleasure to watch right off the balconies on the Lake Superior cliff out the back door, and a pair of loons down below as well. Full moon over the lake right outside the bedroom window was heavenly as well. Just loved everything about this place and would love to come back! Not a single complaint. Recommended to several friends already.

Beautiful, comfortable, well cared for, impeccable attention to detail - top notch accommodations! We’ve stayed in condos in a number of states and scenarios. This one rates as one of the very best! The views are stunning, the area charming; many places to explore including hiking trails that rate among some of the best, great restaurants nearby, and wonderful entertainment (we saw Bump and Barbara Jean at the Gun Flint Tavern). The full moon was a stroke of unplanned luck. We certainly plan to be back!

My husband and I stayed at this Amazing property, The home is beautiful, The home had everything we needed plus more. This was the nicest place that we had ever stayed. I loved the color changing Jacuzzi for two and the very private view of lake Superior. The King size bed was very comfortable and we had so much room we could have shared with 4 other couples but Im glad that we had the place to ourselves after all, it was our Anniversary. The Kitchen had everything we needed plus more, like the coffee grinder and fresh coffee beans with creamer and sugar. Thank You so much for letting us share your home. We will be back again, and I will tell my friends and family about this place.

First before I even get to the property itself I'd like to complement the renter (Rick) and his staff. Super professional and so easy to work with. Quickly answered any questions we had and went above and beyond in recommended some activities for our group to do. We visited this amazing property in mid January. Our group consisted of 7 adults and one dog. Upon arrival we were immediately impressed with the place. It's exactly as advertised if not even better. The place was clean from top to bottom. I think the kitchen was more stocked than my own house! The house allowed for each of use to have our own private spaces (bedrooms, bathrooms) and then two great living rooms for us all to hang out. The place is a short 7 minute drive to Lutsen Mountain and just under a half hour to Grand Marais. It was not your typical Minnesota January as far as snow fall goes but this allowed us to explore the shore a little around the place which was really cool! Oh, one last thing...The View. I can't tell you how amazing it was to wake up every morning as see the great lake. I don't know if that would ever get old. Once again I highly recommend and would revisit this place in a heartbeat!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Anthony- your experience makes our job all worth while! And to answer your question, "no," the view of the lake NEVER gets old. So glad you enjoyed your vacation. ~Rick

My wife and I stayed at this townhome for 2 nights at the end of November. It goes to show there really is no bad time of year to vacation. The summer months are quite touristy along the North Shore so this was a great time for us to still see the sites and get the more private feeling as the area was pretty empty of people. But back to the home itself. We loved it ! It was so big. There are 3 big levels and for just two people, we didn't even get to spend any time in the lower level, which was just as nice as the others, but you can only be in one room at a time. The bedroom was a dream. Huge. Nice big walk-in closet and a jacuzzi right there in the room as well. Two decks to enjoy. I personally took advantage of viewing the night sky from the upper deck and was really awed by the stars in the sky mixed with the sound of Superior's waves crashing in. I don't get that at my house. The kitchen was beautiful and everything had a "new" feeling to it. Even the drawers rolled out so smooth like a tool chest with ball bearings. (wrench-heads will know what I mean here.) I was impressed with the attention to detail throughout the whole experience. Like having lots of movies and cd's to entertain you, a coffee machine that uses real coffee beans, (first time for me), with 3 choices of beans to choose from in the freezer and note cards by the coffee machine explaining in detail how to use the coffee maker. Stuff like that. And let me not forget the site of Superior watching the sun rise eating breakfast at the table, watching a ship go by. What a great experience! We'll be back, thank you!

We were very pleased with the accommodations at the Aspenwood TownHome. Our group consisted of 4 brothers and 3 wives (my prescious sisters-in-law) all from Wisconsin. We were hoping for a few relaxing days spent sitting on the deck reading books playing games, and gazing out on beautiful Lake Superior. We were not disappointed, Aspenwood had it all, even the weather cooperated. We were truly blessed to stay at this home. Our visit was awesome, we hope we can return some time in the future. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful home away from home for us on our vacation. The home was even much better than we ever expected! It was spotless and accomodated our extended family very well. My 80 year old mother spent days doing embroidery on the deck overlooking the lake while us younger ones went on hikes and the alpine slide in Lutsen and exploring in Grand Marais. We will definitely plan another trip to Aspenwood!

Our group of 3 couples stayed here for 4 nights at the end of July. The location was perfect. We enjoyed cocktails on the balcony overlooking Lake Superior, viewing the birds (bald eagles, loons, gulls, hummingbirds, mergansers) and evening walks along the bike trail next to the lake. The accommodations were lovely with adequate community space, but still privacy for our three couples in each bedroom/bathroom suite. Admiring the Milky Way from the upper deck was an unexpected surprise. There were many things in the area that our group enjoyed. We were delighted with the waterfalls at the nearby state parks: Gooseberry Falls, Cascade, and Grand Portage. Do not miss the Split Rock Lighthouse, the Lutsen Mountain Tram or the Grand Portage National Monument. We also spent a day in Grand Marais and were delighted by our lakeshore hike along Artist Point, behind the Coast Guard Station. The Angry Trout restaurant was a real treat, as was our drive through the wilderness on the gunflint Trail. I would gladly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing break along the north shore of Lake Superior. Our group truly had a superior stay and hope to come back again.

My husband and I have stayed in this unit twice once in the winter and once in the summer. My husband and I along with our adult girls and husbands spent the weekend in this great place int he winter. We went skiing on Lutsen Mountain had some great times cooking in the wonderful kitchen and playing games on the huge kitchen table and just relaxed. We decided to go back in the summer just my husband and I and spent 3 nights at the property. WOW the views are so amazing from the main level in-side and out onthe deck and from the master bedroom in-side and on the bedroom deck (Wow) . We went hiking on Lutsen Mountain what a different view in the summer. I have told many of my friends and trust they will love it has much as we all have. We have plans to return we love the Lutsen area and the owners of this property make it REALLY easy to rent from them they have thought of everything down to the fresh coffee beans in the freezer Thank you very much for taking pride in your home and sharing it will others.

We had a wonderful time at Aspenwood this past weekend. Even though it rained all day on Saturday there was plenty of space for all of us (6 adults and 4 kids under 2). We were able to make all our meals and eat in the well equiped kitchen/dining room. The downstairs game room was perfect for the kids to play and have space for all their toys. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and hanging out on the large deck on Sunday when the temps reached 65! Great views of the lake and wildlife! The bike trail was so close which allowed us to go for a long walk and ride with all the kids. We have already talked about going back in the fall and would recommend it to anyone! Thanks Rick! Storlie Family, we had a fabulous, relaxing time at your home. Thanks Rick! The full kitchen supplied all we needed to make meals, full size refrigerator, and gas grill came in handy also. The view of the lake is amazing, and we enjoyed having access to walk down to the beach area also. There are plenty of things to do around the area. We hiked at nearby State Parks and saw some beautiful waterfalls, and had a picnic visited Grand Marais. If weather does not cooperate, a movie and popcorn or a good book in front of the fireplace works too.

The entire family was impressed when we walked into Aspenwood. The spaciousness, the amenities and the breathtaking view of Lake Superior made it a perfect location to spend the week together. We found everything we needed to prepare and enjoy dinner in the comfort of the unit. We explored the trail outside our backdoor that lead to the shores of Lake Superior. There was enough room to spread out if anyone needed their space. It was a tranquil and comfortable stay we all enjoyed. * The listing description was accurate of Aspenwood. * The listing photos and written description of Aspenwood were entirely accurate. We greatly enjoyed both the unit and surrounding North Shore area. * The property, as they say in Real Estate, was turnkey condition. My wife, actually most of our family, are fussy when it comes to cleanliness. * Prior to our arrival, I was confident that I understood what I needed to know to began our trip from Alexandria. When we arrived, everything went like clockwork. No problems whatsoever. * I have already spoken with friends and realatives about Aspenwood. Everyone is impressed. * Since we have been up in this area previously, we alwalys venture up the Gunflint Trail for sight seeing and of course, lunch at the Trail Center Resturand. We always enjoy a stop there. The only minor problems were that one daughter had difficulty with the TV remotes. She was used to one remote (Harmony) for getting the TV going; some of the information in the Master Book was outdated. (I don't recall the exact specifics of what resturants, etc. were involved). We had an excellent stay and we will be back next year. Thank You, Ron Kline

It was amazing here. I felt like I was in my own home. We saw an amazing sunrise, hiked a long the shore, and took some outstanding pictures. It made for a magical honeymoon weekend with our six other friends. We would recommend this place to EVERYONE! We love it so much that we are considering buying one of the homes that are for sale. Thank you Storlies for this memorable opportunity.

We were seeking a location with grand views of the lake which would allow our dog. We found it! The views were spectacular and the town home was totally amazing. We felt at home from the moment we walked in the door. The town home was spotless and had all the amenities you could ever need! We had the great fortune to have a nightly showing of an eagle flying along the coast, beautiful moon lit nights over the lake and the amazing sound of the waves. The location is great for numerous sightseeing and adventure trips. We enjoyed our stay so much that we immediately re-booked another visit later this year!

We have been enjoying an annual girls getaway in our family for the past 11 years. We all agreed this was the best place we've ever stayed and plan to make it our "new" family tradition. From the magnificent view when you first walk in - to the 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (and let's not forget the fully furnished kitchen & coffee bar) - we loved it!!

Stayed at Aspenwood for 4 days while skiing at Lutsen - beautiful home with an incredible view of Lake Superior. The 8-minute drive to Lutsen was easy - we even came home for lunch. It was great to "get away" from it all, but at the same time really nice to have Wi-Fi! Thanks, Rick!

What a wonderful stay we had during our 5 days. The house was everything advertised and was more than we could have hoped for. The location was perfect, making for easy trips to Gooseberry, Split Rock, Tettegouche, Temperance River and Cascade River State Parks and Lutsen is right next door. After days at the state parks, we could not imagine coming home to a better place. We loved going down to the shoreline during the day and listening to the waves crash on shore at night (Tuesday and Wednesday blew in big waves). The kids have all talked about how much fun they had and we will definitely be returning in the future. I can't imaging staying anywhere else and have already recommended the house to several friends.

Owner response: With the new bike trail you can also bike to Cascade River state park. The park even has bike racks right along the trails. Park your bike and enjoy the waterfalls. We love the waves too. There's nothing more soothing!

Your place is like a big warm welcome. Just what we've been looking for over the past 10 years of staying on the North Shore. Every creature comfort anyone can ask for, from the garage (big plus), gas grill, laundry, to somehting as simple as a wine opener, right at your finger tips. You don't have to want for anything, as it's right here. It's like a vacation within a vacation, you just show up and you start to relax and enjoy. You don't even have to leave your place to see wonderful sights. It's right out your back door. But if you do venture out, everything, and I do mean everything from Resturant's, Golf, Hiking, to Skiing is just a hop skip or jump away. WE WILL BE BACK !!!!

Each year our photography club makes the annual winter trek to the North Shore. This year we stayed at Aspenwood. We had a great time, the home was perfect for our stay, everything was clean, and Rick and Liz were great to work with. We'll definitely stay again, next time in the summer for my family's "Family Camping Trip". Highly recommended!

I have stayed in this wonderful property twice now. Both experiences were fabulous. We had 4 adults and had more than enough room. The kitchen and living area on the main level is gorgeous and large. So is the downstairs. The garage is a huge plus. The deck is one of the best parts. There is a hill in the back yard where you can see beautiful scenary and wildlife. Appliances, lighting, and atmosphere are great. I have nothing negative to say about this place. Even the price is right. I went with some friends for an extended winter weekend to ski and now I'm planning to bring my wife for a fall visit. You've seen the rest, now go with the best!

We stayed at this condo for the second year in a row in February. It is absoulutely beautiful! Clean, spacious with all the amenities of home and more! You added a new basket of lovely hot chocolates and teas - a great addition! The view is spectacular. The owner was helpful and very responsive to our questions. I would highly recommend this to others and we plan to return next year.

We went up for a week of snowmobiling and relaxation this last winter. The condo was well located and close to the trails my husband went on. The view of Lake Superior was wonderful and was very relaxing. We hope to make it back again sometime, possibly in the warmer months to take some time to hiking. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a private, peaceful and relaxing spot. Plus it was a bonus to be able to bring our dog with!

We had a fabulous family get together at this beautiful townhome in Lutsen; it was everything it was advertised to be and more! Our only complaint for the stay was the skiing was a bit cold, but the home was so inviting, warm and cozy that we had no regrets spending more time there than on the slopes. We plan to ski Lutsen once more this season and plan to stay here again.

What a beautiful setting. It doesn't get any better. Very nicely furnished and equipped townhouse that was perfect for the six of us. Kitchen was excellent and had everything we needed to prepare ourr meals. Dining area was very nice. The living area off the kitchen is the only space that was somewhat inadequate. The seating around the fireplace did not accommodate six and certainly not potentially eight. We tend to gather in one space at the end of the night and more comfy seating would have been appreciated (the heavy dining room chairs were not really comfortable). Bedromms and bathrooms were outstanding. All in all the perfect spot. I will be calling to reserve for next year.

Owner response: Our home works great for large groups that like to be together, yet have their own space. The greatroom (fireplace, dining and snack bar) does encompass seating for 12 and we also have seating for another 7 in our lower level TV/Fireplace room and game area. This way, adults can have one space and kids another. The log chairs are heavy as they are solid wood and the decor adds a lot to the north woods feeling.

We stayed last December for our honeymoon and it was a great find. The price was incredibly affordable for having an entire townhouse to stay in and it was a beautiful place. Everything was updated and very comfortable. The views were also amazing. There was a deck/patio on every level to look out over Lake Superior and what a view it was. We were able to watch the sunset every night and had some great viewing of the stars as well. Additionally, it was very close to many great hiking trails. The only dislike was that it was not cleaned the day we arrived. However, we called when we got there to say it was not cleaned and within an hour or two a couple ladies stopped by to clean the whole townhouse. We were even compensated for a dinner for our troubles! We would definitely stay here again.

Owner response: There's nothing that makes your heart stop like getting a call your home isn't cleaned! Fortunately we've upgraded our cleaners who not only do an immaculate job, they keep track of our calendar better too. Thanks for the note Mindy. I'm glad everything worked out!

This is our second time staying at this property, and we love it. The view from all three stories is almost nothing but lake. It feels like you are on the edge of the ocean. Our favorite part of the house is the oversized 2 person jacuzzi that you can look at the lake while you relax in the tub. It's only a couple of miles away from Lutsen ski area, and close to Grand Marais. We had a great time, you will have a great time, everyone that stays there will have a good time.
