I booked this house for 8 tennis and golf enthusiasts. Chris the owner could not have been more attentive in answering questions and helping us with our booking. The house is fabulous - very large and comfortable. The ping-pong, pool, foosball were used extensively and really enhanced the whole weekend. I would highly recommend this house.

We took our extended family (11 in all) to Big Canoe and stayed at this property. The house is beautiful, and big enough that even with a large group, everyone can find a little solitude when they need it. The activities available in the house, in Big Canoe, and in the local area were many. We played pool, air hockey, and ping pong as well as working out in the basement, we hiked on the many trails that are accessible from the backyard, we jogged the wonderful paved trails, we fished, we rented a pontoon (very reasonable) at the marina, we went to the outlet in nearby Dawsonville, we cooked a lot of great meals in the awesome kitchen as well as enjoying local cuisine, and we enjoyed sightseeing in the area. There is so much to do, but the area does not feel touristy or crowded like Gatlinburg. The owner was very attentive to our needs and did a great job of communicating with us to ensure we had a great stay. This house was a big hit with my family, and afforded us a memorable experience. This is our second time to rent here, and we're already booked again for this Fall.

This house is perfect for a large gathering, plenty of room and things to do. We had a rainy weekend so the pool room and ping pong were a huge bonus. Great kitchen, and indoor/outdoor deck with a fireplace. The house is situated in the wildcat community with easy access to all the Big Canoe facilities. It was great that it is not surrounded by neighbors allowing for a peaceful and quiet time. Great spot.

What a great place to go for a fun family vacation. This house is huge and has so many amentities that our family of 14 never got bored or in each other's way. A beautiful setting and everything you could possibly need right there. The game room was a big plus. Very open, beautifully decorated and clean. Nice to be able to BBQ right there on the deck but also found some good restaurants nearby as well. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. This was our first time at Big Canoe but we hope to return again and this is definitely where we will stay. Thanks

Our family had a very enjoyable, relaxing time at Big Canoe. The house was extremely beautiful and very spacious; it accommodated fourteen people easily. The pictures on the website doesn't do justice, there is so much more this property offers that you don't see . You will have everything you need from linens to activities for all ages. The owner is friendly and very helpful. He put a lot of thought into what a family would need when away from home. My family and I have had many experiences with vacation rentals but this house was the cleanliest and most equipped, we highly recommend it.

The property was everything we imaged and more. The House is very clean and the kitchen well stocked with some items we didn't think to bring with us. Your pictures were great, they enabled our group to plan who was going to sleep where. The ages ranged from 2 year old twins - to my mom who is 76 and I must say everyone had a great time. My Mom especially liked the screened in porch to sit and read. There was plenty to do, my Brother in-law and Nephew enjoyed the Game room alone with the Exercise room is where my Grandson spent the majority of his time with his video games. We could spread out if we wanted to relax without interruption or come together as a group for meals and to watch the playoffs. Chris was very helpful and patient with all the questions I and my family had. I would gladly recommend this property as a great get-away for anyone. They also enjoyed the outdoor pool area which was very nice. We ate at the Fuego Restaurant and traveled to the Dawsonville Outlet Mall.

This is the second time we've rented Chris' home for a long weekend (Feb, 2010 and May, 2011). Each time we've had a wonderful experience. The home is situated on a beautiful lot within Big Canoe (easy access to/from the property). We all enjoyed the large family room and the beautifully appointed screened in porch. There wasn't anything we wished for - it was all provided for us. Chris is very prompt in responding to any emails/questions.

What a super experience we had at this marvelous house. In spite of the rainy weather we had during our family retreat, no one was bored not even the kids. The baby gaits were a big surprise for us with an 18 month old in our group. She loved saying upstairs or downstairs. The game tables were so entertaining for all ages. The exercise equipment was not used much this trip because of the pool and ping pong tables. The rooms were great, fires in two of the fireplaces...so cozy and warm. The kitchen was a gift. You usually do not find gormet-style kitchens in places for a vacation. The dogs were well behaved and had as much fun as the people. We have recommended this special retreat to several families, so be looking out for their emails. We'll be back!

This home is an amazing getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, kid-friendly, and has all the makings of a home away from home. We cooked and grilled while we were there and had all that we needed to make the meals we planned. There were games for the kids: pool, airhockey, foosball, and ping-pong. If they weren't inside, they were enjoying walks on the trails or visitng the indoor pool at the clubhouse. We have stayed several times and each time is better the last. The deck has a hammock, the screened in porch has a fireplace. The pictures simply do not do this amazing home justice! We had two families staying together and everyone had enough space to spread out and do their own thing. The lay-out of the home is smart for multiple guests. The master suite has a fireplace that is double-sided to the master bath. The owner has amazing tastes. The towels were nice and thick...we were pleasantly surprised. I hope that we can make many more memories in this beautiful home. I plan to book another stay soon. While we were there, we drove to the Dawsonville Outlets , ate at the Mexican restaurant at the entrance of Big Canoe, and enjoyed the other amenities. We are thankful we found the PERFECT spot for our getaway. We enjoyed it so very much!

This house was a joy to rent. Seller responded promptly to emails. House was well maintained, had great features....perfect for a family reunion with a couple of families. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances. Outdoor fireplace on the screened in porch was a special treat. Master bedroom is great for a romantic weekend. Extra folding table and chairs were very helpful for a business meeting/retreat. We plan to come back.

We had a wonderful reunion here with 12 people. The house is clean, beautifully maintained and easily accommodated our whole family. The teenagers enjoyed the game room and exercise facility and the cooks found the kitchen spacious yet in the mix of activities and conversations. The deck and screened porch with fireplace provided great conversation areas for sitting and relaxing. We found the house exactly as described in the listing and the owner was very helpful in answering questions and giving us directions to the property. We enjoyed the beautiful walking trails, the swimmers gave the community pool a good workout several mornings, and the Fuego restaruant, just outside the gate has great food. We enjoyed the apple orchards along highway 52 and lunch/shopping in Dahlonega. In addition, Amicalola Falls is a great day trip hike with beautiful scenery. We would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives or anyone needing a very accommodating home for a large group get-together.

This beautiful home was the perfect retreat for my husband's 60th Birthday surprise with our entire family. The owner (Chris) was so accommodating - he even offered a crib, high chair and security gates for our grandson. The location is so convenient - only an hour from Atlanta. The house is immaculate and offers every amenity one could imagine. We needed more time to enjoy all this fabulous house has to offer. We will definitely be back! Thanks Chris for all you did for us!

I have stayed at this beautiful house many times. Our most recent stay was as wonderful as always. The house is in excellent condition, always kept in impeccable shape and priced very well. The views from the house are beautiful and it is tucked away in a quite and serene location. The owner is always accommodating and we frequent the house at least twice a year. I highly recommend the house for an amazing Big Canoe getaway!

My two brothers and I treated my mom for her 60th birthday. The house is amazing - large and full of things to do easily accommodating 4 full families. We had children ranging in age from 2 - 16 and there was no moment where they were bored. The pool table, ping pong table and air hockey table were used non-stop. The Big Canoe community itself is gorgeous and the golfing (27 holes) had some of the most breath taking views you could imagine. Not only would I recommend this house to others, my mom wants to make this an annual tradition!

The house was beautiful and spared no detail-everthing was top of the line. A great floor plan for a group. The downstairs rec area was perfect on a rainy afternoon-pool table, foosball, ping pong & an excercise room gave everyone something to do. The wooded lot was pretty and we saw wildlife nearby every day. Chris was great to deal with and answered all our questions quickly. We would definitely rent this house again. The master bedroom is much larger than the picture shows & the master bath is beautiful. Would have liked some cooler weather to take advantage of that fieplace!

My family recently spent a week in this lovely home. The owner could not have been more accommodating - I told him I was bringing my grandbabies and he purchased a crib and high chair and baby gates. He even put in a privacy window treatment in the loft so that we could use it as a sleeping area. He was great to work with. The layout is perfect for a large family - couldn't have been better. The house has lots of fun things for the kids to do (billiards, etc.) and the location and close proximity to amenites was very good.. We would definitely tell our friend about this home.
Owner response:I was so glad to accomodate you, Gigi, and hope to have you and your family back again in the future. Chris

This was such a beautiful home that we have now stayed in twice. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and provided us a great return renter rate. It was great for our big family vacation this summer, lots to do, the kids loved playing outside and with the games inside. The house itself was just wonderful and comfortable. It was just as described in the website, the house was very clean and spacious. We found lots to do to keep busy and would recommend this house to anyone it was worth it!! And Appalachia Grill just 2 miles away is fabulous!!

We have a large family and all of us had a wonderful time during our extended stay in July. We found the house to be a beautiful, comfortable vacation spot with entertainment for all ages. The property owner, Chris, couldn't have been more accommodating. He made us all feel very welcome and I would not have hesitated to call if we needed anything. This is a perfect spot for a large crowd, be it a family reunion or a get - away weekend. There is lots to do for everyone and I recommend this property to all, without reservation.

We rented this home to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a great time. The home was spacious, beautifully decorated yet comfortable and child friendly. There was a great game room that the whole family enjoyed. The screened in porch was inviting and enjoyable even in June. Each morning We enjoyed our coffee as we looked at the beautiful landscape. The owner was easy to work with and accessible during our stay. I especially appreciated his flexibility as we coorinated several family calendars. Our experience from bebinning to end was delightful! We sure hope to go back!

Date of Stay: June 2010 Imagine taking on a trip of over 700 miles just because someone else said it's worth it? That is exactly what our extended family of 16 did! We had heard of Big Canoe from others...and opted to check it out for ourselves. This is a very well kept, secluded property on the outskirts within the Big Canoe Association. Having said that, a delightful community swimming pool is only 5 minutes away and the center of the complex is only a 15 minute scenic drive. We found the house to be exactly as represented in the pictures. It was clean as a whistle and nicely stocked with towels, utensils, and pots/pans. We enjoyed the "quiet" location....quiet as in no road noise...but PLENTY of chatter from Mother Nature! As for the Big Canoe Association, it is my understanding that it encompasses 8000 acres with nearly 3,000 homes. There are two swimming complexes, 27 holes of premier golf, miles of walking trails, waterfalls, and a marina all on site. I was told that there was even a Nature Museum, but we were so busy having fun, I didn't have time to find it. There is PLENTY to do here and this home will provide an excellent & luxurious place to stay. As for outside attractions, we enjoyed rafting and hiking. The falls at Amicalola State Park are a MUST see and this is only a 25-30 minute drive. As for the owner, I found every encounter with him to be positive. He was truly interested in our having a wonderful experience and very repsonsive to my questions. Our group was also impressed with the local hospitality we encountered. We travelled a long distance to arrive at this destination and concluded it was well worth the time. We absolutely enjoyed the property, the association, and the wilderness that North Georgia has to offer.

My family and our friends had the joy of staying at Chris' home. It is beautiful! Excellent quality throughout. We have stayed in Big Canoe before in other homes, but this one was by far superior. Slate, granite and hard wood, beautiful molding, etc. and it is meticulously maintained. Chris was very easy to work with. The property is excellent. Close to the gate and Wildcat recreation area. Small stream in the back yard. I would move here if I could...but too long of a communte to Florida. Rats!

We had three familes (6 adults and 8 kids) for our long weekend stay in Big Canoe and we couldn't have been happier with the house or the location. Everything was exactly as advertised and the house was well-maintained and very clean. The layout of the house is perfect. Even with the 8 kids, ages nine to one, we never felt cramped. The game room kept the kids occupied for hours and the nearby playground and soccer field let us run the kids around to help wear them out. At nightime, as we sat outside looking at the stars, we felt like we were the only people for miles around. The day of our departure we made the very short trip to Burt's Pumpkin Patch and then Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge. While the pumpkin patch is seasonal, Amicalola Falls is probably beautiful any time of the year. In summary, we could not think of one thing that was missing from Chris' home and we will definitely go back for another visit.

This home is beautiful and you could not find a more gracious and helpful owner (Chris). I would highly recommend this for families of all ages. There were nine of us here three nights for a wedding at the Chimney's and the extra room, amenities, number of bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic. It was so quiet and peaceful. We loved setting in the screened in porch by the fireplace at night. The game room was a great place to unwind and relax from the hectic activities of the wedding. Truly an awesome home.

We just returned from enjoying the weekend at this amazing property!! The pictures do not do the house justice. There is so much room in the house that even with a large group, everyone had ample space to themselves. The guys could not get enough of the games either. The most popular place in the house was on the screened in back porch with the fireplace. We are so glad that we stayed here and will definitely plan to stay again!

We just got back from this cabin just 3 days ago and had a blast! We had a total of 10 adults and 9 children up there for a week. Kids ages 2-9... they loved all the things this cabin had to offer. Roaming the back yard and playing by the creek, seeing deer outside in the mornings, and having tvs all over the home. We kept ourselves occupied with pool, air hockey and ping pong. The place was huge and so beautiful! The first night we ate dinner and then sat on the screened porch and lit a fire. The next morning, EVERYONE commented on how comfortable the beds were, I am hoping to get one this year! We traveled to the waterfalls and did the antiquing thing. When first planning the trip, we hoped to be out of the house and acting like tourist, but we did end up spending most of the time at the house because it was so relaxing. The master bdrm was huge and the fireplace and jetted hot tub was a nice add to the house. Even the owner was great... always answered my questions (even the dumb ones) and checked up on us. It was well worth the money and we hope to go there again! I can't wait to print our pictures! (we have a total of at least 2,000!)
