La Iguana #15 upper level condo is located in the La Sirena La Iguana condominimum complex.
Outside your upper level condominium, you will find an inviting swimming pool and a complementary courtyard and garden surroundings for you and your family to enjoy. And within a few steps you will also enjoy and lounge under the many palapas in your own private and sandy white beach.
This is a place for families to enjoy. You will find snorkeling and diving within easy access, and in just a three-minute walk you will find the famous Yal Ku Lagoon with its calm, clear water and beaches protected by the Meso-American reef, the second-longest in the world. It is a charming, preserved lagoon with a vast variety of fish and sea life for snorkelers to discover. You will also find in Akumal two dive centers offering PADI-certified instructors that offer organized trips for a thrilling reef and or cavern dives.
In the condominium you have a completely equipped kitchen, living room and adjoining balcony, equipped with a hammock and a table and chairs, with an attractive view of the pool and courtyard-garden, dining room, two ample bedrooms the master bedroom with a king-size bed and a guest bedroom with two twin beds, both have adjoining terraces, also equipped with a hammock, and a view to the Caribbean Sea.
Iguana #15 offers daily maid service, and fresh sheets, towels soaps, and unlimited bottled water. You may get beach towels, an additional hammock or a crib from the management team if needed. There is a public telephone at your disposal, located at the Sirena's entrance. Within walking distance also you will find some excellent restaurants that cater to casual and fine dining, various grocery stores, souvenir shops, internet cafes, masseuse, ATM, money exchange, taxi cabs, fishing charters, dive shops, fresh produce (Wednesdays and Saturdays), personal laundry service.

While they are in Akumal, they slip right in with the locals, scuba diving, and snorkling, and enjoy all that Akumal has to offer. I had truly high hopes and expectations for this condo when I booked it. It seemed to be the perfect getaway and my whole group was so excited to be staying right on the waters of beautiful Half Moon Bay. Boy was I wrong... We arrived exactly when I had specified and stopped by La Bahia to pick up the room keys as I instructed. However that is when we were informed that one of the A/C units had gone out and that there were currently workers in our condo replacing it. We asked how long it would take and were told before 4:00pm, this was around 11am. We asked if we could go ahead and move into the condo and were informed that the maids were waiting for the maintenance crew to finish before they started cleaning our condo. So we ended up sitting around guarding our vehicle waiting to move into our condo. At 4:00pm the crew was saying they may not even finish that day. Thankfully by 6pm they were done as was the cleaning and we were able to move in. We thought all was well and our vacation could continue... After relaxing for a little while we go to clean up and shower after the long day and we have no water! We called the manager and he came over and investigated with the on-site super. They had no idea... We went to bed stinky and none too happy. The next morning they managed to figure it out and we had water again. That was the end of that right? Time for the vacation to kick in and we sit back and relax? Wrong again. Again no water the next night... Not a very pleasant problem in the tropics. Somehow they fixed it but the damage had been done. Furthermore, and for some ridiculous reason, management decided the busy holiday season was the time to build a new sidewalk and fence so now the simple concept of getting in and out of our condo was an arduas task of haphazardly stepping around wet concrete and workers and our peaceful days of relaxing were filled with consistent hammering! So much for R&R. Why couldn't this be done in the SLOW season?? To top everything off, we had no internet service the ENTIRE time we were there despite requesting it to be fixed several times every day during our stay. The condo itself was okay, interior nice, but the problems were far too many for an enjoyable experience.

Wow, we loved this place! It is situated close to the ocean, where you can swim or snorkle. Walking around the point puts you on Akumal beach where we snorkled and saw a couple of giant turles as well as other sea life. Just around the corner to the left is Yal Ku lagoon which was the best for snorkling! Lots of colorful fish! We cooked at home a lot of the days, but they have some great restaraunts also within walking distance...."La Lunita" was fantastic! The daily maid service is wonderful! Totally relaxing...they even do your dishes! I would definately come back...very well situated!

I was recently in Akumal in the condo, and I agree, totally relaxing. I visited with my family, and even the teenagers were happy. We were very excited to see the turtles both in Akumal Bay as well as Yal Ku Lagoon. I wanted to let you know that Nathan and Brianna, have purchased one of the villas that overlook the pool in the La Iguana, La Sirena. This is a 2 level, 3 bedroom villa. If you and your family is interested in visiting Akumal again, in the 2010 year, I would like to offer you the villa, La Sirena 18, at the condos nightly rate La Iguana.
