  This was my families first long trip away from home. We all enjoyed the local resturants, Of course the ocean. The condo was the right size for our family of 5. There was always fresh towels. Felt safe allowing the teenagers to go to the store, about 10 minutes away. They enjoyed the freedom. Just exploring the different culture. Wednesday and Saturday when the local vendors would set up to sell their wares and fruit in the village was fun. Loved bargining in the jewerly store on the corner!!! Taking our choices of which beach to relax on whether it be Akumal bay beach or the La Iguana's beach, we knew at the end of the day we would be rejuvinated, and DARK..1/2 the reason I came to Mexico!!! I still need to add that the turtles were exciting to see. The wifi didnt seem to work great. We were told that we were borrowing the signal from another condo, the deck was a great place to sit, for the signal, and the pool. Sometimes. it was perfect inside at the table. But i figured I wasnt there to work so much as to enjoy and relax...and if i had to, the deck, or pool wasnt a bad place to work. All in all, This place worked for my family.

  Our Family, My husband, two young teen agers and a young friend, went to La Iguana for some much needed rest, and a little adventure. Thats exactly what we got. We had enough time to try many of the resturants. We enjoyed La buena Vida with the Bar Swings, and the Tree Houses on the beach. I loved spending the days reading my book under the private palapas on the beach. Walking along the large coral to Yal-Ku Lagoon to get to snorkle in the water and see the little turtles was exciting for us! The staff was friendly and helpful. Luis at the front desk, was the greatest! The taxi drivers in the area the same! All the locals were very gracious, and all looked so happy. Loved the vendors that would come to the town square and sell there stuff on the weekends. Beautiful crafts, and the Jewelry store, Great deals to be had! :) The condo itself, with the Canadian TV stations were great for relaxing in the evening after a day in the sun. The free bottled water, LIFE SAVER!!! For us this trip was not about night life. Thats not what Akumal is about. However many of the other guests would just get in there rental cars and drive up to Playa Del Carmen, when they wanted that! For us....It was the perfect relaxing getaway.

  I had truly high hopes and expectations for this condo when I booked it. It seemed to be the perfect getaway and my whole group was so excited to be staying right on the waters of beautiful Half Moon Bay. Boy was I wrong... We arrived exactly when I had specified and stopped by La Bahia to pick up the room keys as I instructed. However that is when we were informed that one of the A/C units had gone out and that there were currently workers in our condo replacing it. We asked how long it would take and were told before 4:00pm, this was around 11am. We asked if we could go ahead and move into the condo and were informed that the maids were waiting for the maintenance crew to finish before they started cleaning our condo. So we ended up sitting around guarding our vehicle waiting to move into our condo. At 4:00pm the crew was saying they may not even finish that day. Thankfully by 6pm they were done as was the cleaning and we were able to move in. We thought all was well and our vacation could continue... After relaxing for a little while we go to clean up and shower after the long day and we have no water! We called the manager and he came over and investigated with the on-site super. They had no idea... We went to bed stinky and none too happy. The next morning they managed to figure it out and we had water again. That was the end of that right? Time for the vacation to kick in and we sit back and relax? Wrong again. Again no water the next night... Not a very pleasant problem in the tropics. Somehow they fixed it but the damage had been done. Furthermore, and for some ridiculous reason, management decided the busy holiday season was the time to build a new sidewalk and fence so now the simple concept of getting in and out of our condo was an arduas task of haphazardly stepping around wet concrete and workers and our peaceful days of relaxing were filled with consistent hammering! So much for R&R. Why couldn't this be done in the SLOW season?? To top everything off, we had no internet service the ENTIRE time we were there despite requesting it to be fixed several times every day during our stay. The condo itself was okay, interior nice, but the problems were far too many for an enjoyable experience.

  Wow, we loved this place! It is situated close to the ocean, where you can swim or snorkle. Walking around the point puts you on Akumal beach where we snorkled and saw a couple of giant turles as well as other sea life. Just around the corner to the left is Yal Ku lagoon which was the best for snorkling! Lots of colorful fish! We cooked at home a lot of the days, but they have some great restaraunts also within walking distance...."La Lunita" was fantastic! The daily maid service is wonderful! Totally relaxing...they even do your dishes! I would definately come back...very well situated!
