The house Casa Eko Mar, is located in Uvita, on the Pacific shore, in the project called Jardines del Morete, located at the km 160 of the Costanera Sur, at only 1 km from the main road. (paved road) This lovely house is for rent by the owner, and can accommodate 2 to 6 persons. The house is equipped with 2 bedrooms and 2,5 bathrooms. It is a new construction (2009) located on a headland with a gorgeous large view on the ocean, the Morete River and the mountains.

We rented a car from San Jose with a 3hr + drive it did take us longer as we got lost, the road signs are not clear but once out of San Jose we found our bearings and were fine, make sure you have local currency for the tolls. The road up to the villa starts as a bumpy dirt road and more than half way up it becomes paved, you will signs for the Whale and Dolphin hotel and the villa is located before the hotel. The mountain views of the ocean and wild life are spectacular and every evening the sun sets right before your eyes. Yves the property owner is located next door was a great help he provided information and recommendations for the local area. Uvita is a 7 min drive from the villa and there are several restaurants banks and grocery stores and a National Park with the infamous whale’s tail beach. The area is not touristy and do not expect much night life as it is very quiet, we highly recommend going horseback riding to Nauyaca falls and zip line through the rainforest canopy both are 30min away. The villa met all our expectations and more it was well maintained fully equipped and the infinity pool was great. I would not recommend young children as the ground floor bedroom can only be accessed from the outside which is not be ideal for children. If we have the opportunity to comeback to Costa Rica again we will certainly want to stay here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent a week here with my parents at the end of January 2012. The villa is very well positioned with amazing views of the ocean. The facilities are excellent with some lovely design features. The beautiful garden allowed lots of spotting of birds and other wildlife, and it is close enough to the forests to be able to hear the howler monkeys in the distance at dawn and dusk. The sunsets were spectacular, I have some amazing photos. The pool is just outstanding, and we spent many an hour enjoying the view from the pool. We enjoyed many meals at the villa, with family who were staying close by, and the kitchen had every gadget you should need. The villa is in the hills above Uvita, high enough to allow the panoramic views, but with a road suitable for an ordinary car. The owner, Yves was very helpful and nearby if we needed him. The property is immaculate and the photos on this site are a good impression, the only thing that is not an accurate photo is the view, it is too panoramic and amazing to be represented! Uvita has an excellent little bakery (recommend the empanadas ) also try the lemon and ginger marmalade on sale in the local produce market on saturdays, the creperie for brunch and we had some great pizza at the bottom of the road as well. There are supermarkets with a good range too. In summary I recommend this villa for adults (we had children visiting only) to chill out, enjoy the view and you will not want to leave. We enjoyed a day on the whales tale and another on a boat trip, but mostly enjoyed the pool and view.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
