We came to Asheville as a Thanksgiving/ pre-deployment getaway. It is tucked away in the mountains up a windy road. The driveway is very steep, but we had an SUV so felt safe. Upon arrival we were greated with a lovely note from the caretakers, along with fresh local garlic. We love to cook, so this was quite a treat. The interior is decorated with a hippie/organic flavor. It was really great. We had to read the manual on how to work the oven though. We also flipped the breaker several times because we were using all the lights and two of the space heaters. There was no information about the location of the breaker, but we were lucky enough to eventually discover it. We were disappointed that the fire place was candles only. There were only two of us plus a dog, so we felt we had adequate room, but any more would have been crowded. The upstairs had a relaxing bathtub, but the toilet IS NOT enclosed. We had to go outside to give each other privacy. This was a little inconvenient, but would not change us wanting to come back. There were several hiking trails around as well as a winding road with streams. We had a great time exploring with our dog. The selection of tea and local honey was a highlight for me. Basic food staples and dishes were provided. We were able to make a delicious thanksgiving dinner. We loved exploring the local waterfalls, which are also dog friendly. Skytop orchard is a must visit with AMAZING cider and donuts. The Thirsty Monk had a great jalapeno beer and tasty cheese tray. Overall, I would visit again. It was great to get away from it all and be surrounded by nature. Negatives: 1. The hottub was not warm when we arrived and took 2.5 days to heat up. 2. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. 3. The hamper was full of dirty linen.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Moonbeam bungalows are very unique and a wondrful experience. My husband and I had a wonderful time there. It was so quiet and peaceful at the bungalows, yet very close to shopping and hiking. We loved hiking to the waterfalls in the State Park then a quick drive back to the bungalows to rest up and go out to dinner in the evening. The bunglaows inside are very neat and fun. The candles are a wonderful treat in the fireplace.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This home was everything we hoped it could be. Perfect accommodations for a couple. The high speed Internet more than made up for the lack of cell phone service (they have a land line as well). The wood pile was adequately stocked for our evening fires. The laundry was a bonus after our long hikes. The showers were hot! And we even watched a couple of movies while we were there! We can't wait to get back to the Asheville area!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My boyfriend, dog, and I spent 2 days at these enchanting bungalows.... they were perfect! The cabins are very artistic and gorgeous. Great tastes! I am a yogi so I loved the fact that there were yoga mats at the front door, essential oils to enhance the practice, a platform on the side of the mountain just for yoga, and great tubs to relax in after a vigorous practice. The beds were very comfortable, slept well each night. Perfect distance from Asheville, where you feel secluded but are close enough to go in and enjoy fun in the city! ( love love downtown asheville). Everything is so well organized and super user friendly. We will be coming back to stay asap! one of our favorite getaways! Thanks again Grace- oh by the way, loved the reading selection!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Stayed with my brother, husband, and two young children. While the bungalows are definitely not built for kids, which we knew when scheduling, we all really enjoyed our stay. Lots of outdoor room. The kids enjoyed wandering across the courtyard, between the two bungalows. We roasted marshmallows in the firepit, played in the hammocks, and watched movies that were provided by the host. The only downside was there is not a lot of indoor sitting room, but we rearranged a couple of chairs, and found it worked well for us. Really enjoyed our stay there. Though there were houses nearby, we couldn't see them through the woods, and never heard anything from them, other than rooster crows. Proximity to Hendersonville was also nice, as it was about 15 minutes to dinner at night. I would recommend this more-so to people not traveling with elderly guests or younger children. That being said, we came for the unique environment despite being fully aware that it is intended for adults, and we all really enjoyed the location.Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I recently stayed at the Moonbeam Bungalo and had such an amazing weekend. Grace was incredibly nice in working with us so that we could spend my birthday and celebrate our recent marriage. The place is a perfect place to get away and spend some time with your significant other or to escape city stresses. The Bungalows are beautifully designed and decorated and have all of the pots, pans, spices and just about anything you could need for preparing a delicious meal. Linens and towels were also provided. Outside there are great spaces where you can do yoga, meditate, hula hoop, or read in a comfy hammock. The location makes it a great escape but there are still friendly neighbors down the hill and great places to walk and explore. The paved driveway is very steep and could possibly be a little tricky on a snowy/icy day. Even still this would not deterus from visiting the incredible space in the winter.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We Absolutely adored Moonbean Bungalows. Reserved the place last minute for Memorial Day weekend and were thrilled to find a place available and so close to Dupont Sate Forest. The place exceeded our expectations. Grace, the owner, was so responsive every time I contacted her and even allowed us some flexibility on our check out time on Monday. I was thrilled with the stocked kitchen. I have stayed at a number of rental cabins in the Western NC area over the years and this one had everything we need to prepare our meals at home. We live in Atlanta so eating out is not my focus while in the mountains. I want to enjoy the trails on foot and bike as long as possible and the pups insist upon plenty of trail and stream play time. We made a fire in the outside pit every night and used the provided composite area. The fenced in courtyard was great for keep the dogs contained too. The place does have some eccentricities including a open bathroom upstairs which was a little challenging in the middle of night, but was not enough of an inconvenience to discourage us from staying here again. The outside grill was a bit worn so we chose to cook our meals inside instead. I will definitely recommend this amazing place to others and look forward to my next trip.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Words cannot adequately describe the soulful adventure I found embedded within the Blue Ridge Mountains, at The Moonbeam Bungalows. To say I got my money's worth, merely grazes the tip of the iceberg. It seemed the hostess had intricately planned the most wonderous adventure, personally, for me - from the celestial fire pit, to the serene yoga deck, and euphoric cottages. I needed an escape, an adventure to call my own, a thrust into nature, and that is exactly what I found while staying at The Moonbeam Bungalows - my own private retreat into bliss. I have returned numerous times, to self-collect, to reminisce, to dream, to grow. There is a solitude that can be found there, and also a commradry. Living in L.A., it was refreshing to connect with locals, to get outside my urban ways - my car, my cold stare, my self-imposed agenda. And, the owner's amazing. She provides you with an entire book on what to do, should you get bored of the acres of wooded land to roam, and the ! eccentric inner layout of the bungalows! There's all the essential comforts of modernity, nestled within a safe haven of mother nature, so no worries, you'll have a flatscreen, the internet, and an electronic key system. Place was very clean, extremely comfortable, and I couldn't dream up at more rustic chic retreat than the Moonbeam Bungalows. Thank you so very much Grace for your hospitality! And, as always, I'll be back ASAP for some more soul searching, yoga, and s'mores!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
