This new log cabin home, constructed in 2005, is the perfect place for a scenic, memorable vacation. Located in the beautiful Black Hills on Deer Mountain in Lead, South Dakota - it's just one hour west of Rapid City and 15 minutes from historic Deadwood. In addition, you'll find Sturgis just 18 miles away and beautiful Spearfish Canyon a mere 30 minute drive.
In this part of the country, you can experience casino gambling (open 24 hours), wildlife viewing and fishing all in the same day! This nicely appointed cabin includes everything to make you feel right at home. Come experience the fresh mountain air and starry blue skies that only South Dakota can offer.
The main level offers a beautiful living area and a fully appointed kitchen, including a work island and dining table. The back door takes you to a large deck area with a gas grill. On the main level, the master suite offers a queen-size bed, with plenty of space to unpack your things, along with a full size bathroom. The upper loft area, has a queen-size bed and offers a great view of the interior cabin. In the lower level, you will find two additional bedrooms, a full bathroom, a nice living area with a flat screen TV and queen size sleeper sofa, with a walk-out covered patio. The washer and dryer are also located downstairs, on the lower level.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful mountain log cabin. All the appliances were in excellent condition; the cabin was clean and ready for our visit. We chose this place due to its close proximity to Deadwood for riding motorcycles in the Black Hills. A cab ride into Deadwood for 7 people was around $40, which we found reasonable. The cabin is located on top of a mountain with a view of Terry Peak Ski area from the back deck. The main mountain road is paved with the final 1/2 mile to the cabin being a well-maintained dirt road. The driveway offered ample room to park a crew cab truck with a 24ft trailer and 4 motorcycles. The turn into the driveway on motorcycles is tight. All our bikes had wide tires; narrow tired bikes use extra caution with some gravel just at the edge of driveway. The cabin appears small from the road, but is very roomy and comfortable when you see the full walkout basement which is the side seen in the photo. No one in the group was disappointed with their rooms or the layout of the cabin. Deer are plentiful in the area and in the backyard most mornings. Motorcyclist will enjoy the cabins close proximity to Spearfish Canyon and Sturgis with great riding throughout the area. Dining and nightlife in Deadwood is much cheaper than Sturgis during the time around the Rally, which may be a consideration. Bottom line: A great place with great owners. We would gladly stay here again and strongly recommend this place to our friends.

STURGIS BIKE WEEK 2006 Favorite moment - coming in every evening after a long ride and enjoying family time in your beautiful cabin. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We enjoyed spending time on the porch. We cooked several meals on your new CharGrill - everything was perfect!
