This cottage sits in complete privacy and serenity among five acres of woods overlooking East Penobscot Bay. Water views from the master bedroom upstairs, downstairs living room/dining room, and spacious deck which extends across the entire front of the house. While away the hours watching the sailboats go by, explore the private beach via a stairway just steps from the front lawn, or stop by the numerous antique shops, bookstores, local museums, and other sights on the island. There are several beautiful public beaches on the island and protected nature preserves with hiking trials. The area is a paradise for nature lovers of all ages.
We have a full kitchen, including dishwasher, so visit one of the farmers' markets on the mainland en route to the island and also be sure to pick up some local lobsters. Or, make reservations at the restaurant at the Dark Harbor House, an elegant 19-Century inn.
The cottage is stocked with games, books, and a small select collection of children's toys. A high chair/booster seat and Pack & Play are also available. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway! There is even is small "children's house" in the yard for the little ones to explore.
We are located on quiet East Shore Drive but are just minutes from the ice cream shop and other attractions of Dark Harbor village.
