When time stands still.
'Overlooking the Monclar forest, there where ends the vastness wild woody of Black Périgord, where suddenly succeeded him, at lost view the wine country that our ancients called' land of fire ', the Fourtonie, former vineyard in the heart of a natural park of 50
hectares, offers you capacities (accommodation for 2 to 40 people) and receiving for wedding, birthday or private ceremonies (150 to 200 seats).
The domain includes the eighteenth century buildings harmoniously arranged on either side of a triple porch 'that can be called if not a triumphal arch, at least monumental arch' (from The Book of Périgord Chartreuses ).
Important common which were wine storehouses, renovated for reception and lodging (La Closerie (5-7 people) face at 'la Chartreuse' (12-14 people). Following the former wine storehouse, a Dovecote (2 persons) on which to lean the Orangerie. Together, these buildings occupies two sides of a courtyard, the terrace is lined of wooded horizon.
La Métairie is located at 2 minutes to walk, surrounded by flower meadows, accommodates for 15 people.
You can walk, relax at the pool, play tennis, or sit in the evening under the lime trees and enjoy of the magnificent sunset over the valley ...
The park is a nature reserve declared 'resettlement area for flora and fauna' for more than half a century.
Rabelais, author of Garguantua liked to stay at the Fourtonie in the company of Bishop Geoffroy d'Estissac, cousin of the Lord of Fourtonie. He appreciated the elegance and comfort places and probably the sense of hospitality of the region and its hosts.
You are ideally placed to visit the famous local vineyards (such as Monbazillac and st Emilion), prehistoric caves of Peche Merle, Les Eyzies and Lascaux, spectacular Rocamadour and many historic chateaux, castle and mediaval towns- Sarlat, Monpzzir and Monflanquin of the Dordogne.
The whole area is rich in history, full of fascinationg places to discover and visit, yet still a peacefull farming community producing fruit and vegetebal, wines and cheeses, as well as other gastronomic spécialities, such as foie gras.
For more active, play golf (at chateau des Vigiers, Castelnaud and at chateau les Merles), go horse riding (at Manoir du grand vignoble) paragliding, canoing on the Dordogne or go flying, ULM or parachute jumping from Bergerac airport.
Lembras, the local village, provides the basic necessities («croissant», bread and good wine). There are nulmerous local restaurants.
In Bergerac, you will find all the facilities required whilst on holiday : banks, hypermarkets as well as traditional open markets selling the local produce.

Closerie, annex the former Chai Closerie (70m2 5/7), plays with contrasts, color and light. Former house of caretakers completely renovated with powdery matte colors will bring softness and well-being. From the window at dawn or late evening you can surprise deer crossing under the three oaks. For mushroom lovers, the wood is known for its abundance of mushrooms. You can also relax by the pool, play tennis, or sit in the evening under the arch and monumental lime and contemplate from the terrace overlooking the pool and orchard, the magnificent sunset over the valley .. . You can also book the Closerie with Dovecote (2 persons), which is located just opposite. Outside Closerie former Chai is in front of the Chartreuse, in the wake of the former Chai and near Dovecote. On the other hand, Closerie has doors opening onto a lovely natural meadow.
